    Set aside 3 hours per/day. Think about how good you will be in a year from now! 3 hours is a lot, but that’s over 1,000 hours of practice. That and the 1.5 years you already have will make you pretty capable. Good luck🎸

    I’m a beginner. The biggest problem I see is ppl always want ‘fast’ and ‘easy’. The ‘diet pill’ mentality:). Once you abandon that bunk and understand it requires persistence and dedication, it becomes more gratifying.

    Thanks for the video, beginner here looking for "tips and tricks" if you will to pick up moving around the neck faster. One thing I've noticed while watching KZread videos of guitarists is whenever they are talking about the strings to play, the fret board is always talked about in the inverse of what is actually being watched. What I mean by that is at the beginning of this video in Lick #1, he is saying to play the "top two strings", but as I am looking directly at the screen, those are the bottom strings being played. Now, if you go to Lick #3, when he is talking about pull-offs and hammer-ons, at about 7:45, he says he is picking the string like he is "flicking his fingernail towards the ground". So, if the top of the fret board is really on the bottom, then how are you flicking towards the ground, which would be the bottom?

  • @PlayGuitarAcademy

    @PlayGuitarAcademy

    You are welcome! I don't remember what I said in the video. But, when describing what string to use and direction, I go by how it sounds (higher towards the high sounding strings and frets and lower towards the low sounding strings and frets). I've had many left handed students and some flip a right handed guitar and some play left handed ones. So, going by how it sounds makes it standard for everyone.
