Dude, these are great! Make this a regular segment! Not only will we all watch them all in full - we will watch it multiple times back n forth to repeat practice. And again in following weeks to drill them I to long term memory. You have a lovely, simple & melodic way of phrasing - I've always thought that.

Thank you. This has been so helpful to me. I'm 76 and just getting out of rythym to soft and gentle leads. This is a great start for me.
These sound very wonderful! So cool, and of course they can definitely be expanded on and inspiring with that tone! Cheers!
Hi Darrel, I play for about 14 months now and it is very stimulating to watch this video because this time I can play along. It's doable!
Great video, absolutely love this format. Hopefully there's more like this to come.
Anyone else who hopes that he would tie them all together in one long solo over that backing track?

Great Video! always were a fan of your licks. Also a great teacher 🙌
Dear Darrel, thank you so much for these wonderful licks and the accompanying backing track. I've been looking for something like this for a long time. You have motivated me as an electric guitar beginner not to give up playing solo. please more of these practical aids. i love your channel. Greetings from Cologne, Germany. Wolf 👍
I don't usually comment in this type of video but man...this is quality content, continue with this great work Darrel, this is premium teaching and content 👏
Yay a lesson video! love the gear videos but also love these lessons too!
This is a great lesson to start practicing pentatonic licks and find out what works best for your style. Thank you!
Darrell - thank you for this video...just what I needed. Not only great sounding licks to keep in my back pocket (to quote you), but also learning some new techniques. Like lick 7 with the bend while keeping the pinky anchored...never thought I'd get that but I did!! that makes me so happy!! thank you!!
Wow very beautiful licks Darrell, definitely worth learning.
Such a beautiful guitar! Thanks for sharing these licks, I look forward to adding these as flairs in my own hacky playing! Fun, fun, fun!
Darrell. I've been playing a couple years and work the pentatonics pretty regularly to a backtrack. I'm doing 5 of these at a time. I just want to thank you for putting this out. You should sleep like a baby at night knowing all the joy you're bringing to people. God bless.
awesome Darrell thank you sooo much !
WOW! I really needed these. Thank you so much. Please keep these segments coming...
Darrell, I have watched many of your videos over the years, mostly gear reviews, and they are always good. However, this type of teaching video is really superb, and judging from the other comments, many agree. Please continue these types of teaching videos.
Excellent job! Simple but tasty! Thank you for sharing these!
Great tutorial,.love the content and the laid back delivery style, I've only just discovered your channel and will enjoy working my way through it I'm sure. 🤘
Thanks Darrell! Exactly what i needed to kickstart my weekend! Love from🇨🇭🎸🤘
That's so helpful, while I was practicing these I came up with a tons of others licks. Great job and thanks man
Great stuff! That PRS HB SE is just gorgeous and the perfect sounding instrument to showcase these sweet licks. God bless and rock on 😎🎸👍
This is so awesome! Gives you a lot of possibilities to make your own licks. Thx for this man!👌🏼
Hey Darrell. These licks have taught me a lot. I’ve been going over them quite a bit and it’s really helped me out! I’m no longer in a rut. So thanks for being the most melodic guitarist in the KZread community. It’s coherent and it sounds great.

I do find DB to be EXTREMELY melodic. Never hear him play something that isn't gorgeous. When he did that Xavier/Guitarfetish Les Paul review, he just starts playing gorgeous lines to a backing track.
This is very generous! I love every single one of them. Thank you!
Just got back into playing. You are one of my favorites YTers. Thank you.
These look like great little nuggets to put into my practice routine. Thanks a bunch!
This is the first time in my 3 years of trying to play that I was able to play something with some melody. I especially loved that there are so many potential variations that jump out at me. 🤯🤯
These sound great. Definitely learning them
Great licks!
Thanks so much Darrel super cool licks you give me some good new ideas for my improvement!
Thanks Darrel! I've been playing for a while and have all the pentatonic shapes down, but still lack the "vocabulary", as it were, to put licks together. This will give me a great start, cheers!
Good stuff! 👍🏼
great licks! Thanks Darrell
If only every guitar teacher would do lessons this way... Most other ones just brag of their guitar skills. You are great, man.
Great licks, sounds really good.
Thanks for the licks! Slower licks need to be accurate so each bend, note has a chance to shine- well done simple lesson! My biggest problem with solos(other than me playing😆) is trying to smoothly transition to things the licks together. Any suggestions?
Some very nice licks and very well explained thank you. 👍
That was beautiful! I’ll be using those in the future. Nice getting a different perspective too get me out of a rut.
This gave me so many ideas! This was an awesome video
Thanks for the licks bro
What a great lesson for us newer players..thanks Darrell
Thanks for your lickz i really love it. . Its very helpfull for me as a beginner. .
Great lick. I'm going to try them for sure :)
Love it, Thanks a world
awesome video Darrell!
Very nice ideas to practice, thank you!
Needed these. Thank you
These lessons are really helpful, you need to do more of pentatonics and arpeggios too
Excellent fun thanks darrell.
Thanks Darrell these are great jump off points. Happy Thanksgiving.
Very helpful!!!
thanks. a lot of fun. i had just play the first lick over the backing track and it sound great
Was feeling a bit of a creative block on this solo in major. This was some nice inspiration to get back at it!
I have a fantastic day whenever Im learning these wonderfull simple and so so so much beneficial licks:):):):D Thanks You So MUCH!!!!
Thanks brother..easy to understand..🙏
Great lesson I've been teaching and playing lead guitar for 40 yrs. But I fell in the trap of minor pentatonic scale and modes for so long but neglected major pentatonic therefore have trouble visualizing licks in the major version. This video opened door to where I can visual new licks in the Major pentatonic.Great Video👍
cool licks, nice little lesson
Beautiful!!! And well_explained 🤘🤘 thank you!
Great stuff man!
Awesome guitar lesson, very very conceptual.
Thanks Darrell, you rock!!!
Really more of these helpful videos . This video helped me...Thanks
Darrell, these are great!
Cool stuff to get me playing now, thanks
Beautiful phrasing!
Thank you so much, Darrell, for this video...love that PRS! Recently bought a used 2014 PRS-SE Custom (Vintage Sunburst) and just ADORE it--love the way the neck feels in my hand and how light-weight they are. Hope to get a PRS-CE someday...is there really that big of a difference between the two? Keep the great videos coming.

I feel exactly the same way about my SE...and about getting a CE someday. Looks like it could be that "perfect guitar"....
@chadbouterse8617
3 жыл бұрын
The bolt on CE has a more superstrat feel... whereas the SE (assuming its a custom 24) is more of a hybrid between a strat and less paul...
@lueysixty-six7300
3 жыл бұрын
@@chadbouterse8617 oh. Thx for the tip. No, I don't want a PRS to be a superstrat - there are too many fantastic superstrats for that. I want a PRS to be more Les Paul...but with Strat concessions to playability. So...DGT? 🤷♂️
@chadbouterse8617
3 жыл бұрын
If you just want something of nicer quality that is more les paulish with strat concessions.. you could just go with a core custom 24... Just for some perspective, I’ve had just about every model that PRS makes under $4000 and the two that Ive kept and love are a Core Paul’s guitar (very les paulish with a thicker neck and infinite tone possibilities) and a CE (very super strat, hair metally with a thinner neck). Of course, you could play any style of music with either, but thats the vibe i get inspired by them. The best advise I can give you if to find a PRS dealer with a lot of stock when your ready and spend a few hours playing them all. You’ll know which one speaks to you and thats the one you want :)
These are amazing! Really love the one around 9:25
Nice! Love that guitar 🤘
The first lick is the hook lick for a worship song, From the Inside Out. Awesome vid!

nice video , i really enjoy watching your videos, great job, greetings from Mexico
Hey Darrell! Love the vids man. Saved up some money and been thinking about buying either this guitar or the new fender ultra HSS strat. Would love to hear your opinion on which one I should use!
Beautiful licks easy for beginners .
Very nice. You should throw in these lessons, covering basic skills, more often. BTW, that PRS guitar is beautiful and sounds great.
That guitar is insanely beautiful!
This is exactly what I was looking for 🤩
wow cool very easy to understand for me
Nice stuff, thanks
I can't thank you enough for this!!! It really changed my playing. 🎯

excellent Darrell
Damn some of those licks were beautiful
as a player of just under a year. These videos are invaluable to me. cheers fr NS
Thanks Darrell. It's very hepful for those that are getting into first licks. By the way, that guitar looks...👌
Amazing
Adding these to the arsenal
Best lesson ever!
Yoooo bro this helped me out a ton! New sub here lol
These are awesome! Beginner with one month under my belt as of today. Been working on these for two days along with pentatonic and some chords. But I love these little licks. Not great at the slides.....need to have my volume higher up and use my humbucker rather than single coil on my superstrat. I can get a slide to go forward but not really good at going backwards....and certainly not the forward and back. But still have fun with it and working on it. Thanks!
Nice licks! they are simple but effective. Can you do a video about other major pentatonic lick in the remaining 3 boxes?
Thanks for the helpful licks. Any more coming ?
Thank you very much
Wow This is so cool👍👍
Great vid 👍
Esy and effective, good job 😁
Going to learn these tomorrow.
Love the theory and licks.
