10 Cooking Utensils in India Ranked from Worst to Best

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Cooking Utensils in Ranked from Worst to Best. Which cookware is the best. Which cookware is safe?
Do you use non stick pans or aluminium vessels to cook your food? Or the pressure cooker is a part of your daily cooking? If yes then you might be unknowingly inviting serious health issues like Hypothyrodism, PCOD, loss of memory, complications of the heart, kidney and even cancer. So which is the safest cookware in the Indian market? To make things simpler for you I examined the most commonly available cookwares in the Indian market and on the basis of their toxicity have categorised them into 5 categories.
01:03 - Category 1 - These is the worst cookware in the Indian market. What's disturbing is that more than 90% of the Indian urban homes use it. If you want to stay healthy, this cookware should be out of your kitchen.
02:25 - Category 2 - This is also among the worst cookwares in the Indian market. It is also widely used by Indians.
03:40 - Category 3 - These cookwares are definitely better than the ones in the previous two categories but are far from best. They too come with hidden dangers.
04:45 - Category 4 - These cookwares are among the safe and practical options. Although, they do have certain limitations.
06:00 - Dishonourable Mention - This video is incomplete without the mention of this cookware. It was never a part of Indian cooking heritage but now it is a household name.
06:44 - Category 5 - This cookware is by far the best among all. It is the most scientific cookware ever made. What's great is that it is also cheap and available.

    Useful video. It is always wise to look back to the healthy life of our ancestors before we do something. They used only clay/ iron/brass/stone vessals and bio spoons made of jackfruit tree leaves, aracanut tree leaves, cocunut shells etc. For the last 3 to 4 years I use cookwares made of clay, iron or stone ('kalchatti' in our language) only. Very rarely steel vessels too. For serving, only glass, ceramic, coconut shell or steel utensils. And yes, banana leaves, of course! I threw away all my non stick cookwares out of my house without any concern. But still I could not avoid pressure cookers. Could you please tell me what is the metal used for making that Futura black pressure cooker? Is it healthy to use for cooking?

    So how feasible is earthen pots to be used on a daily basis and how is it to be maintained? 😳🤔 Must be breaking too easily.. How long does it last? Easily cleanable? Can we use usual dishwashing soaps on it? Does it retain the smell of the food? If used frequently over high flame, does it have chances of bursting or cracking? Omg.. We are unable to try clay or bronze as of now and the best we can do is to get rid of non stick pots and pans and move to Stainless Steel. I was blown away by your detailed analysis which was very helpful and got to know about Mayer which claims to have zero nickel Stainless Steel. Since it's very expensive wanted to see if you could let us know if it's better than other stainless steel brands which are sold at half the price. Your suggestion would not just help me but also thousands of other people who are spending a lot keeping in mind their families' safety. Thanks!

    I don't get the idea that pressure cooker destroys nutrients by adding excess pressure. The science of pressure cooker is different. When pressure is increased, the boiling point of water is also increased. So the temperature becomes high and thus food is cooked fast at high temperatures. The temperature dependent nutrients can break at high temperatures. But.. in general pots also boiling temperature is 100 degree Celsius for water. Temperature dependent nutrients like vitamin C will get destroyed in ordinary vessel also. Again in high altitude , where air pressure is low.. cooking food is only possible by a pressure cooker. In a way , I think you must look at your comments on pressure cooking more deeply.

  • @shaantubes

    @shaantubes

    5 жыл бұрын

    Probably he should have said or meant that because of pressure the temperature required to cook gets lesser than what ia actually needed. Say under normal conditions, rice would require x degrees of temp which is achievable only under non pressure cooking situation, thus taking more time. Whereas when pressure cooked, the rice gets cooked at lesser temperature thus not able to produce the nutrients. Under the non pressure situation, rice will only get cooked or say nutrients of the rice will only emerge out of the rice when normal cooked. Rice will keep on extracting heat from the burner till it is naturally "cooked". While under pressure cooking, it is by force made to fluff and make it cook while not being able to suck out those nutrients.

  • @sanchitamukherjee678

    @sanchitamukherjee678

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@shaantubes .. nutrients won't emerge in the process of cooking. Nutrients are produced while crops are growing as a fruit of a tree. Any cooking process destroys some part of the nutrients. These nutrients are vitamins actually. Most of the vitamins are not stable in cooking temperature. Hence we are guided to eat fruits and salads as well.
