When we focus on AI, robotics, and microchips, China is quietly going full-throttle on biotech which is very smart when you have 1.4 billion population. China has no choice but to rely on itself to become independent otherwise China will be prone to another possible ban of vaccine from the west.
The recent news said the US military or Pentagon has admittedly that they did spread fake news about China COVID vaccine are not safe and should not be taken on X. They deliberately dissimilated this fake news in the Philippines and lost lots of lives as the result of it. The matter of the fact is that China was relentlessly researched and developed vaccine that stop the spread of COVID in a relatively short period of time. That says it all!
After the US sanction insanity in recent years, China should have already prepared the next big sanctions on biotech and this time China will stand up and counter the US.
The Chinese presence i biotech has always been strong as evidenced by Chinese scientists in this field in the US. Now, many have gone back to China and started their own biotech firms. And....like the semiconductor sector, the US plans to sanction and restrict Chinese biotech companies from collaborating and providing services to US biotech firms. And....like the semiconductor sector, China will develop its own self-sufficiency to the detriment of the US. Our politicians are destroying US technology with their elephant in the room actions. The advances of American biotech was dependent on collaboration with Chinese companies and our politicians somehow think that by breaking up those relationships, the US will come out ahead----Good luck!
Isn't it the other way around? The US Congress has passed a law to BAN Chinese biotech companies to corroborate with US entities. AND several Chinese companies have been put on the "entity" list, causing a huge drop in their stock prices.

To be honest, this sounds more like you have been constrained by the inability to see beyond the opaque barrier that exists in 20th Century thinking. Sadly this is a characteristic of people who can not imagine a world totally different than the present world. At best what you are describing is likely to be a reality sooner than 2040 - 45 when the 600th anniversary of the printing press and the predicted arrival of the Singularity. My own prediction for 2069, is that by then, we will be in a realm of "Through the Looking Glass" or Fantasy Land... Where nothing we can think of is real and what is real will be beyond what we imagine today. The science and technological realm is like a dog that has slipped off it's leash and is chasing a squirrel or cat.
