Can the President and the Speaker of Parliament please confirm that all government deployees (Metro/Provincial and National) will be required to exclusively make use of the NHI services and that their privileged current medical aid scheme(s) will no longer be funded by the taxpayers?

Ag, please! Do you really think Doctors are that stupid to work for NHI while their patients get fleeced by this Government?????? You'll be sitting with less qualified people than the few that are still here!!!!

If this was such a fantastic idea surely doctors, who are amongst the most intelligent members of society, would be the first to see that it is going to be great……. In this case, a statement like this is a bit worrying tbh. ANC rats signing in a law just before elections when they have no cooking clue how they are going to fund it. 20% of the population can’t fund 80%. The only way SA will become successful is if more people get employed and pay taxes, and the government stops stealing it all.

If Africans can elect leaders on intellect not tribe this will work. Also the leader must work tirelessly for all ethnicities irrespective of where they came from. Leader must be corruption free and promote education and morals among the citizens. The leader must promise safety, health and education for all irrespective of race, gender or anything

You can’t even find money and posts for your newly qualified doctors. How do you expect them to stay? Must they work for nothing after paying for 6 years of tuition? The system is broken and you tell us not to be naysayers.

What you have achieved in thirty years was crime and more crime, and most criminals are in the government. No law and order. South African people are not safe anywhere. Government Hospitals are totally destroyed, or should i say every SOE is corrupted to the core and not in working order. So, how is the NHI bill going to work, and most of 80% percent of the people are unemployed. Right now, every business in the country can not meet their expenses. People are suffering due to a lack of services with electricity and water. People are no longer secure. If the government can not secure its people of the country anymore, which is the democratic right of every single person. CRIME is at its peak, and laws is more for the criminals than for the innocent. Everything is unworkable in this country that was workable.

Healthcare professionals can definitely facilitate change for the better by leaving on short term contracts to high paying jurisdictions and only returning if the regime sobers up as to who actually holds all the cards. Power mongers only react to real power. Imagine healthcare run by the likes of Eskom?

As a software developer, I'll be leaving What does it have to do with NHI, nothing at all, the country is just clearly captured by politicians who don't need to live with the effects of their policies. NHI is just a hail Mary for the ANC, just another way of saying "more free stuff". Nothing is free, and we clearly can't afford this.

Our hospitals have had a bad reputation for so many years (reference to eastern cape) how must we, the people, trust the government to run something else. How must we trust you, when municipalities aren't run properly? Good luck everyone.

What happened to the assessment and Report from the Health Systems Trust that cost millions to the taxpayers? The recommendations were filed and the health services sunk deeper into the shithole created by the ANC government. Whatever the ANC politicians touched turned into shit. Well done Banana Republic.

Doctors on existing NHI contracts are going without pay for Months! We have poorly managed resources, inconsistent supply of essential medicines and poor distribution of diagnostic equipment. There is serious corruption that is being overlooked in the health sector. They even appoint health MEC’s who have zero medical backgrounds. We are overworked and on top of that they’re threatening to take away the overtime pay. How the hell are we supposed to trust these cronies?? This filthy liar should stop giving us false consolation. Address the existing problems first!😒 Absolutely disgusting

Ja and these politicians go overseas to get medical treatment. Even the great Zuma that the cadres love so much in Kzn went to Russia for medical treatment. The hospitals are not good enough for them. I bet this has nothing to do with Healthcare and everything to do with deals and kickbacks for sourcing medical equipment from dodgy countries and unethical companies supplying medical equipment and medication. Soon we'll see foreign doctors flooding into South Africa.

Why invite role players to participate in the demise of the Health services in South Africa? The destruction is the brainchild of the ANC and you will succeed in destroying the the health services like you have succeeded in destroying Transnet, SAA, DENEL, Education, Police service and even the military.

Listen, this is not a racial issue or even about poor people. This is about the taxes. 200bn in tax revenue will be collected to loot by the ANC if this bill gets implemented. Government workers are generally well paid but not every civil servant can afford R1500 a month to pay for unemployed people's health care. Tax payers are stretched thin. Municipal rates have doubled in some parts of the country, electricity charges have increased but no reliable supply. Corruption and cadre deployment ruined public hospitals. Medical Aid only became a thing because public hospitals are death traps but now they want to take that away? You think people want to pay more for less services again? The ANC is running this country into the ground. Their loyalists are the people either benefitting from the corruption or are the ones suffering the most. Maybe the failing education system is responsible for people who can't think and they keep voting for the ANC- everything is broken in this country thanks to the ANC. They couldn't even fix the water treatment plants and sort out the damage caused in Durban by the floods two years ago... How will they run this NHI?
