My ex roommate never got me flowers but she was really the only person to make a big deal out of my bday when I lived with her. She was basically vegan but would cook sausage, eggs, bacon and make toast for me on the morning of my birthday. All perfectly cooked and she never complained about the smell or anything after she was done. It made me feel special that she was willing to do that for me.
