I would suggest using different cutting board for meat and a different one for vegetables. Cross contamination.

Teresa, I just made this recipe. The only difference is I had 11 home grown tomatoes, no Roma’s. 8 of them were non acidic. This recipe is absolutely delicious. I think the only change that I will make is to season and sauté the meat before I add it to the sauce the next time I make this recipe. Thank you so much. I even have the cookbook, idk why I’ve never made this particular recipe.
Plus I served it over linguine, not rice! Lol

I always cook my meat and then add it to the sauce first. Never seen it added by itself before.

Teresa your meatball recipe is so much like my own that I have to tell you the difference. Maybe you’ll try my way once. I sauté garlic and onion together and put it in my meat mixture. Then the only other difference is I roll my meatballs in flour before I fry them half way. Once you throw them into the sauce, the flour from the meatballs thickens the sauce a little! It’s so delicious! Everything else is identical in our meatballs.
