The Muser Resolute (MTR)

Hi!

I'm Mike, a Music Teacher with a Bachelor of
Music Education from Australia! 🇦🇺

Through the popular medium of "reactions", my goal is to share with you the aspects of music which make you feel what you feel, with a little bit of music theory lingo thrown in! But it's not all "reactions" (Reactionalyses)!

Mike, let me help you understand this "rythmic thing" how you called it, or "dance" how Baby call it... This is our "folklor thing"...balkans thing...Southern part of my country (Bosnia-Hercegovina) and Croatian dalmatian coast share the same history rythyms music etc... Rin Tin Dagi Dim...is "glamočko kolo" beat..Ancient dance from villagers from that area... Baby is mentioning "our dance"..Leaving cows and going to city....It it a bit modernized of course.. So unfortunately it is not "genuine invention" of BabyLasagna but rather "clever tradition usage".. There are a number of balkan artist using this rythmic scheme, but I must admit this is an "bulls eye"...another example: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mJNm3NNrkbWtnM4.html Hope this helped with your rhythmc thing obsession :) Greetings from Sarajevo !

Thanks for the thoughtful comments, while you were correct he didn't win, he came closer than most expected. And his performance on the final was just perfect! Any chance you will react to that?

Seeing this reaction as an autistic person who usually struggles with the point of connection, is heattwarming. Due to how my life has formed, im very much connected with people from different cultures and backgrounds across the world. Including music. I didnt understand the language and so most of the lyrics, but i could make out most of it. I was very conflicted between this one and Nemo. Cause as you realise to the end. This is a song that comes from his heart. He loves this continent and just wants people to get along. He made a promise to his parents, and he will keep trying till his dying breath. Ps. Also why theres not a more beautiful choice than a gabber bridge, i lost it there. There isnt a more iconic thing for Netherland culture. That is as if you brought Joddel during a swiss bridge

the way he stepped back in the final to project into the mic, it made it stand out and I think that's why it placed so high. But yeah amazing singing. I just wanted to give him a hug during the entire thing haha.

Found about the phrygian mode yet? It is the same one as in Satti's song. I'm completely self-taught and not trained at all so I can only tell you that while the phrygian is almost always mentioned as a mode that provides an eastern flavor, the way it's used in genres that feature these influences prominently can be a bit misunderstood. In Greek, Turkish, Armenian etc musical tradition there can be some microtonal elements that when translated to equal temperament instruments, it is equally or even more likely that the third will be played sharp, as is the case here. Other times the song may leave this somewhat ambivalent, or both major and minor can be used in different parts. In western rock, you'll find this mode in Pink Floyd's "Set the controls for the heart of the sun" with a minor third, but in Rainbow's "Gates of babylon" it's major.

This song is very deep, I think what gives it away is the faceial expresions. They get more extreme the further the song goes on.

Croatian jury did not even put him to the main performers, he was the first substitute to croatian competition, so he got the chance to enter only because one of the perfmers decided not to compete!

That’s an amazing song validated by a pro like you 👍🏻 So emotional as you said if you would understand the beauty of the lyrics in French and the poetry behind the words that has the potential to make you truly cry 👏🏻 I’m French and overseas and never heard about this guy till last week and in all honesty this is a purely amazing song 🙏🏻❤ You haven’t noticed that he is also bringing some of his roots from his Algerian grandpa with this typical intonation that is present in arabic singing few times during the performance. A superb vocalist that once won the Voice French contest some years ago apparently. He should have won considering what we’ve been hearing otherwise…

When Nemo hits the high notes it had me thinking of the blue alien singing from The Fifth Element. I wasn't originally sure about the one but it has grown on me, very catchy! The live performance was even better!

Zorra is a derogatory name given to a woman. It's not a good name to call a woman. It's actually a Vixen but its commonly known as a slut. She is singing about reclaiming the word and basically saying I don't care what you call me, I am going to have fun whatever you think off me! It's empowerment...love it. Zorra Zorra Zorra ❤

Yepp, you are so right! I listend to it the first time and thought the same: Wow, how creative, how complex is it. And how good is Nemo (never heard of him before) switching between Opera, Vibrato on one side and Rap on the other. He performed great and sung perfect and clear at the ESC. Impressive young talent!
