Yessss! They absolutely killed it. Vocally on point, the whole arrangement, the staging. Definitely the stand out of semi final 1!

If this NQ's it will absolutely break my heart. Ireland has for once sent something interesting and brave and if people won't get it I'll be so upset. Sadly I can't vote for this. Love it.

Just to address your concerns on Bambi vocally, the reason they have started climbing the odds over the past few weeks is due to their excellent performances in the Eurovision pre parties. The production of our national final in Ireland is unfortunately not the best and doesn’t lend itself well to sound production. Really glad you liked the song. Thanks! Yep I was able to look past the performance at what was an incredible song. I’ve heard the studio version since, but haven’t fully heard the revamp which I’m excited about! I can see this climbing the odds and I’m quite excited about the prospect about this being in the finals!

You need to watch the official video, the context is even more important! But also this version you're watching, this show is notorious for horrendous live sound. They made all the contestants sound awful. Some of us Irish people will be celebrating getting to the grand final as a win! Just you wait! Thanks! ❤🎉

I love Bambie, and I love that you love this! THe official video is even better because it helps bridge the verses and the chorus. Yeah, its not live, but I'm hoping they find a way to create that bridge when they're live too! I'd be curious what you think the chances are they'll be able to do that?

I agree, this one is definitely not meh! It somehow feels a lot longer than just three minutes, maybe because of so many changes and highlights along the way? Seems like they've crammed an impossible amount of content in such a short time. It still holds my attention much better than most of the more traditional ones, some of which also feel longer than three minutes but just because I find them boring 😆 I wish I could get notifications for these ESC reactions too! I know you said you won't do that to not annoy anyone, but then those of us who'd want to watch, but forget to check regularly, suddenly find five new ones and get overwhelmed 😂 Maybe add notifications for every third one or something? 😁

I don’t mind the notifications, I mean I only follow thing that are interested for me becomes of hobbies or work or interests , so for Me is nice to know that there is some new content. But as you prefer of course it is your Chanel, and thanks again for the good content!

To answer your question about if it’s a jk Rowling dig. Bambie said in an interview it’s got nothing to do with her. Avada kedavra is actually an ancient Aramaic phrase that means let it be destroyed, which fits in really well with the themes of the song. 😊

If you're interested in better understanding the lyrics, I recommend the "intimate" version - there is one rendition with an interview from the Late Late show, and another on the Eurovision channel. In short: They are cursing a lover who jilted them and wishing them I'll (interesting interpretation around Rowling, though!): They're wishing "that all the pretties in your bed escape your hands and make you sad, and everything you wish you had, you lose", I don't really understand the "you're living a lie, I see the scars in your eyes" bit. Then: "I guess you'd rather have a star than the moon" I read as "I guess you want something distant and unattainable rather than what you already have". And "I guess I always overestimate you" could be just an expression of frustration and disappointment: "I expected better ". Then the final passage is, I think, an admission of regret: "For your romance I'd beg, steal and borrow. It's draining me hollow (...) You could slow dance me out of my sorrow, but your favourite colour compared to the others is doom, Doomsday blue" - so you could save me, but you prefer to see me suffer. In short: A jilted lover stuck between wanting to curse their betrayer and at the same time wanting their attention.

Hey - just want to clarify on the avada kedavra- it actually doesn’t come from Harry Potter (although that’s obvs where it became famous), but from I believe Aramaic, and it means something along the lines of ‘destruction of the soul’. So that’s why it’s followed by ‘I speak to destroy’ - so essentially a hex on your house or something like that. As for Eurovision - zero staging or vocal concerns for bambie - they’ll be great. My only concern is camera angles. I hope they get them right. But I’m so proud that we chose this entry. I love the heartbeat running through the entire song until the end breakdown. So many new things to discover each listen. And yes, to those who said listen to London preparty - this song and Tsunami - absolutely mind blowing! Incredibly talented artist
