Rusty James, Dallas Winston, or whatever. Still a great movie. I read the book before I saw the movie.

As a teen in the late 70's who had a mom that ran around with random guys, I blame movies like this for filling women's heads with nonsense. It was hell.

I work at a Camera and Lens company, and the DP who Bale was yelling at visited my work today. I had to come look for this video out of nostalgia and I’m glad it hasn’t been entirely erased from the internet yet.

Michael Cimino in interview: 'People used to say him [CEastwood], "Well, what're you doing?" He'd say, "I don't know. I'm making a movie with some twelve-year-old kid... I would ask Clint every single night, I'd say "Clint, are you happy with the footage?" And he said, "Michael, you just keep putting", quote,,, "you just keep putting your vision on the screen."'

Mickey Rourke was perfectly cast for the role of The Motorcycle Boy, and he played that character with the uneasy balance of delicacy, darkness, light and violence. This film had a big impact on me in my late teens - reading a review today as a 50 yr old, the reviewer suspected The Motorcycle Boy had autism. They wouldn't have had the language or diagnosis for autism then, but I suspect it could be true.
