I’m learning a lot from your videos, especially about matching the color temperature on your lights. How do you set white balance in your cameras?
BTS video quality looks "authentic" 😉
Great Video! Cool to See how you build up the framing
So even between questions you don't ask the interviewee to fix their posture? I'm usually not the interviewer, but in between questions I'll get them to adjust hair, body position, etc. if needed - I always do so in a nice way and have never had someone change their attitude after doing so. I will never interrupt during their response however, that would indeed be bad practice.
Very useful for learning
enjoyed this video I like the go pro angle worked well I think. Nice interview set up regardless of the space too.
This is amazing. Really appreciate your breakdown of everything.
You are amazing for watching! Thanks for the support.
thank for lucking for find you i Learning a lot from u Keep them coming
Glad to hear it and thank you for the support!
What’s your easy rig model?
EasyRig? MiniMax Stabil Light
Great stuff! How do you find shooting with the dual A7iv? I use mine occasionally paired with an A7Siii and every now and then it will overheat and we have to interrupt the shoot.
The overheating issues are happening more with usb power and hdmi out. I make sure to keep the camera in airplane mode also. But I do overheat from time to time anyway.
Learning a lot from this guy. Keep them coming
Awesome to hear! Can't stop, won't stop!
love it
Glad to hear it!
Love this. Appreciate seeing the client interaction - that is super helpful.
That is one of the perks of a pov camera rolling the whole shoot. I can catch interactions naturally. Thanks for watching!
lol'd at the interrogation part xD I like how you mentioned the context of the answer and gave the color example, that's a good one I need to remember. I feel like I know to do that but I keep worrying that I'll forget next time I shoot 😄
I always try to have fun on these types of shoots. It takes away the nerves people have going in. Glad you could take away something from the vlog! Thank you for watching!
This has quickly started to become one of my favorite channels. Keep up the great work
I agree. Me too.
You guys are awesome! It can be a struggle spending 4-8 hours each Sunday editing these videos, but y'all make it worth it. Thank you for the support!
This is a very informative vlog. Who doesn't love detailed vlogs as great as this one. Love the details of the setup and the pre interview questions. False Color segment is always great to see. The b roll segment was also great.
Always great to see you in the comments! Glad you enjoyed the new POV setup. I plan to do a lot more like it! Maybe EL Zone will start to make it into the vlogs!
For b-roll with this little movement, why not just shoot handheld? Seems like that would be a lot easier and faster. What's your experience with the FX3 IBIS?
Some shots are basic with little movement and others have a lot of movement. The IBIS is great and even better with a stabilized lens.
Another great video. Big fan if Phantom luts. They undoubtedly extended the working life of my FS7ii, though thankfully now mived over to FX6. I generally stick with the neutral lut but reckon Utopia suits the feel of this shot.
the white balance trick is stupid smart
This just proves that bigger lights doesn't mean better results. Like this idiot for example.
What are you using to record your BTS? Thank you for all the great content and education
Pocket 3! Thanks for the support!
Utopia seemed the most interesting to me, but I'd have to check it side-by-side on a calibrated screen instead of my TV.
Bro needed an exo-skeleton to hold the camera
👍
I’m always in between Neutral, utopia and tungsten as well ☺️👍
Looks great brother. I use Phantoms for when I really don't want to worry about grading. I grab the Neutral almost every time.
definitely keep the BG darker , page one for interviews , I think thats a good ratio you have , I wouldn't have used the bounce fill personally even . It's a nice advantage of FF cameras and fast lenses (and AF !) that set direction and location choice is a lot more important that having to mess with the dreaded "video slash" like the old ⅔ inch sensor days , when the BG was 99% going to be in focus.
Where can you find a white board like yours?
Please tell me, what is that hanging from your easyrig and attached to your ronin handles. Can you please let me know where I can pick one up.
I really appreciate all of your detail as it helps me understand the lighting rationale. I also love watching your set up routine and how logical it seems, yet not obvious when you’re first learning. Great job with your videos.
the room is dark, I would've have opened the blinds at bit more or shot a light in the ceiling to bring up the levels in the space.
I follow you on a facebook group, love watching your videos too!
Love these videos thanks for the helpful information. Keep up the great work love the content!
Hey bro definitely appreciate the work you do. What made you decide to use the a74 on this shoot instead of the fx6?
Thanks so much! They are smaller, do photo/video, and client did not pay for the upgraded cameras.
Great content, as always!!!!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for comparison Phantom Luts on the same footage. Very cool seeing subtle differences between each one.
Crazy how similar, yet different they are!
I wonder if 600W CoB and big 150 dome are faster to setup than 4x4 LED panel. Have you tried 4x4 panels for such scenarios?
I would love to get my hands on a 4x4 setup. Speed is very important on shoots like this. I get get the light and dome up in under 5 mins. If the same went for a 4x4, it would be priority in my kit.
@@PDMokry Try Godox F600Bi. Although I'm not sure you can set it up within 5 minutes when fully disassembled. I have to time the setup someday. Some gaffers use different frame for it (Andrew Lock), so they have it always on the frame. With your grip van you can probably have it fully assembled (it's like 6 inches thick). But it depends how far the parking spot is from the location. Advantage is you can get it through door frames fully assembled, but you have to do separate trip for the panel, unless you find a way to mount it on the transport trolley. It's also harder to angle vs softbox with the CoB, since panel is very close to the stand. I think it's worth trying.
@@JoATTech I found mounting panels to a short grip arm works . Then you can extend the arm out a bit from the stand ,to angle the light down. The light to stand spigot they supply usually aunt much good anyway :) Also Godox have a Travel series of softboxs now QR _ PXXT , that aren't so deep and so alot less cumbersome to deal with on location. I have the 90cm and it's a much smaller bag / footprint.
@@robinprobyn1971 Yeah, I got myself avenger pins for the grip head, they are around 16cm long (~6.5 inches) and with them I can angle F600Bi a bit. Tried also using C-stand arm, works well, but the problem is the arm is ~1m long, so it beats the purpose of having flat panel, because it sticks 1m behind :(. If necessary I can use my big boy - Kupo 546M Junior Boom Stand, but then the arm sticks back even mode. How long is your grip arm?
@@JoATTech Its about 30cm I guess , it was a short one , they are probably about 40cm or so as sold ,and then I got a local metal work place to cut it down more. You can sort or angle it out and up , so it's not sticking out directly behind. It's still way less than a huge deep dome / soft box. I use it with Intellytech Mega 6 and Mega 4. Light weight travel kit recently bought Zhiyun Molus G300 / Godox 90cm QR-P90T Travel series , much shallower dome easier to carry and set up is smaller rooms.
Always good information!👍🏻
Much appreciated!
Always good information. Love your videos. Keep them coming.
This one was a bit late today, but had to get it out for y'all!
The color is just a little pink for my taste. The images are strong. Nice lighting.
Great feedback! Thanks for watching!
Hey man, great vid as always. Where did you get the False Color Lut? Btw.. neutral legacy all day!
Thanks so much! colorizer.net/index.php?op=false_colors
I would suspect that you would want to maintain a consistent look throughout the documentary and not switching between luts.
The legend
Got the wrong guy!
First! Good stuff man. Keep it coming 🙌🏻
First to show up and last to leave! Set life! Thank you for the support!
