These are amazing, working with what you've got. I've seen the African women put up huts in a day, with poles, vines and leaves. With these dome were are the bathrooms?

Nice shed. Why not. Just don't say our society is sick. Just imagine how much effort is behind the gas stove, the metal fireplace, the garden hose. Try imagine how much machinery, how much effort, how much energy was needed for you to have the outdoor garden high-pressure sprayer you use to wet the soil...

I love this, I run a nonprofit school for sustainable living in a jungle in Costa Rica . What an awesome video! I am planning my nest in the jungle here. This is awesome ! I have lots of wood , bamboo, cob and I would love to work with the medium . Very nice ! I live in the rainforest , too, it is so healing . So tranquil .

Do both the the paint and cement lime plaster "breathe?" I hope so! Otherwise I'd be worried about trapping moisture in the bags as it would have no way out. thanks for a beautiful video and for the work you do out there,

Hey there, thanks for such an informative video! I'm curious if you have any recommendations for sourcing pigment. I've made some test blocks using LaHabra stucco color coat. I estimated that I'd need about 1400 lb of pigment to complete the walls of my project (600 cubic feet). That would make the pigment by far the most expensive material used in the construction. I'm hoping that there's a better and more affordable solution. Any help is much appreciated!

Beautiful and laborious work done to achieve a beautiful ecological cabin, congratulations to each of the collaborators in its construction. With great humility, just some recommendations for future similar ideas: for the mud mixture you could use the Ground cactus or cactus leaves instead of water, for greater cohesion and grip of the mortar. They could also use bamboo sticks, which are more resistant and lighter in the roof and structure. You could even include a clay oven attached to the wall on the back with ducts interconnected around the foundation, so that the interior is warmer. nice video, many successes in your projects. Greetings from Peru.

Can you build a bale house out of pine straw bails? I've always wondered about that. This house is absolutely beautiful. It's got great curves to it 😉.oh yeah, the concept of the pocket neighborhood is awesome. I love the idea of the front of all the houses facing a central courtyard or garden. Things like that is a lost way of building a community. Because God we need more friendly interactions with the people in our neighborhood. We have lost our ability to want to be around others. Just like we've lost the societal trait of wanting to help others.

It sure would be nice to know how he did this. Is he on his family's property? Did he buy property? How many acres? How is he able to live there when I've been searching for land where I can live how I want to live but everywhere I look there are building codes and laws against freedom for anyone who doesn't have millions of dollars to spend on hundreds/thousands of acres or a private island. Anyone wanna go in on a giant secluded chunk of land???

People like this guy want to live off the grid because they don't want to be accountable to anyone or anything. The Mavericks in society, just go. rogue and live your own truth. Well, here's the truth, Without a job, he doesn't have a 401K. He doesn't have health insurance. He won't collect Social Security insurance when he's 65 and when he needs to help the most he won't have anywhere to turn to. So, enjoy it while you can. So much energy is wasted on youth. Stupidity When he's in his 30s and 40s all kind of illnesses. and physical limitations will begin to appear. And he will have no coverage. the first thing they ask for in hospital ER is. what insurance do you have? And he'll have to say none, And then they'll say good bye Have a nice day..

People who are free in their minds know better than to run to doctors or take anything today's doctors would prescribe. If one has everything one needs in nature (food, water, and shelter) there is no need for money. One who spends decades with no money at all has very little need for a 401k. However, the guy's name is "Stoneman", like "Steinman", which, as you likely already know, is jewish. So... There is likely quite a lot of money in the family.

One person can build a cob cottage by themselves with time and know-how. I would love to build one if my health recovers enough. Cob buildings can last for more than a thousand years, with the right conditions and occasional upkeep, and without needing anything more than a rocket and/or mass stove, fireplace, or more modern wood-burning stove to keep the temperature comfortable year-round. The best part is how they feel as an environment, the mellow energy they create and nurture.
