This Modern Earthen Mansion Is A Design Marvel!
In this weeks' natural building tour, we visit La Casa De Da-Vid in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. La Casa De Da-Vid is an incredible roundwood timber-framed cob and straw bale hybrid that took 7 years to build. This home is an excellent representation of how we can utilize various local natural materials to maximize efficiency while simultaneously creating beauty. In this home, the straw bales serve as an insulative envelope that regulates temperature and humidity in the home. Cob (a mixture of sand, clay, and straw) on the other hand serves as thermal mass and allows for sculptural elements throughout the home.

We have been building a strawbale house wth internal cob walls for the last 7 years also and I would love to know what type of natural paint they used and if they made it themselves? How in the hell did you ever get that permitted? I hear of people trying to build simple cob structures and they're told it doesn't have enough "insulation" and needs to be three feet thick, killing the project.
Is there a venting system in the house for a central air and heat,I see all the fireplaces but how do you deal with moisture?

Did you really figure out how to mesh Christianity with all the others? Like the concept of eternal damnation, or when Jesus ends every parable with, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth? Or wait, I bet we can all agree that the Bible was corrupted and we should just throw that out. Oh and btw I've read some stuff in the baghavadgita that hints at people being damned. But then it just sort of goes on....
