But Joe Smith on youtube did a segment on TPI multimeter, I think it was the 194 model and it didn't look to good according to the test he performed. Hopefully TPI saw the video also and corrected the issue moving forward with their newer products.

Thanks for the video. Since it's a tool that sits around a lot , changing the batteries is something that happens often. Since the light is not working on mine, the need to change the batteries has come up. I replaced (2) 2032 batteries , but light. I flipped over and still a no go. That leaves the switch and the bulb, but for the money it's easier to get a new one! One thing that bugged me was not being sure whether the batteries went in + side up or down as nothing is stamped on or in it. How do yours go in, up or down? The circuit board side I thought might be (-) side and the door with just 2 neutral metal pieces. I just want to be sure. Thanks, Rick

I don’t have my close around at the moment. Unfortunately I never had to replace the batteries either. But I would assume that one positive face’s down and the other one up.

When I heard that there was more that you didn’t like about, I felt that on an electrician level 😂 I believe they have their place if you’re removing/installing a lot of small machine screws that secure delicate materials (like hard plastic trim plates) as they give you a lot of torque control. But I overall agree; a day to day service or new construction electrician has little use for this tool.
