The sound quality on this is exceptionally good! Sounds 15 years newer than it is. Marvelous frequency range and presence, quite good bass. The surface noise is minimal. What did you use to do the transfers for this record?

Despite the surface noise (What Berliner doesn't have?), a truly amazing 125 year old recording. Thank you for sharing.

In those historical moments when the spaceship "Vostok" ("East") made its flight with the first man, cosmonaut Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin, over our planet, two-way radio communication was established between the Earth and the spaceship. Comrade Gagarin reported to Earth how he was feeling, how the flight was going. During short communication sessions, the Soviet cosmonaut transmitted: "I am observing the Earth. Visibility is good. I can hear you perfectly." After a while: "The flight continues well. I observe the Earth. Visibility is good. You can see everything. Some space is covered with cumulus clouds." Some time later, Comrade Gagarin reports: "The flight continues. Everything is fine. Everything works fine. Everything works fine. Let's move on." And again after a while: "I feel good. I am cheerful. I continue the flight. Everything is going well, the ship is working normally." These laconic messages, full of courage and confidence, which already today belong to history, are recorded on magnetic tape. Hear the voice of the world's first cosmonaut Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin from the Soviet spaceship-satellite "Vostok".

This song was stolen from THE LYNX NOT one word and music was original. It is a verbatim copy For them to claim total ownership is a bold faced lie! We had to get an attorney to have our names added to label Effectively Stamply put his name on the label as a writer. Total fake

This song is the original creation of Ken Freeman and David Wade. It was one of our most popular songs. We won a number of battle of the bands with this song. We won the American Airlines Battle of the Bands held in Tyler. The prize was the recording contract with Steve Wright Studio in Tyler Tx. Upon recording "RUN & HIDE" the master was taken to Robin Hood studios and given to Joe Stampley and the Uniques. We learned they were about to publish is and our lawyer got our names added to the lable; Stampley added his name but nothing was changed. The music, and lyrics were exactly reproduced to sound just like us: THE LYNX! Effectively,. the song was stolen from the LYNX!

This is my first time hearing the beautiful voice of Karen Wyman. She deserved to be a mega star. There are shades of Streisand and Minelli in there. Wow what a performance.

I remember hearing this 45 when I was a child. I also remember 2 women neighbors talking while looking out of their windows. One says to the other "Ain't that him, ain't that him?" Hearing them, the man looks up and says "Yes, it's me and I's drunk again" then back to the knocking and "open the door Richard, open the door and let me in, open door Richard, Richard why don't you open the door!" It was a comedy piece, lots of laughs at situations in our lives. I remember.

Hey! Great topic. This could also have been done on film to avoid generation loss. I recall Enoch Light and the Light Brigade originated some albums using 35mm film. Anyone have a comment? There is no mention of AFM not favoring this. But later on, the musician's union made a big deal out of it and there had to be a disclaimer that "this was a multiple recording." Something about Mitch Miller secretly going into the studio at night to record someone when he was later at Columbia. So this is confusing about how it is OK to do this at Mercury records when Mitch was there and later on some kind of crime when he was at Columbia. Also, why not use tape? 3M came out with Scotch 111 in 1948. Of course, there might be a generation loss.

Beautiful singing by P. B. Shreenivas! Subliminal composition by Maestro Chittibabu. And the warm, fully-body analog sound is out of this world! :)

This is simply awesome! For an old record from the 60s, this sounds pristine and warm! The voice of P. B. Shreenivas & Jamunarani are so alive (listening with a pair of high-end Sony headphones) as if they're right in front of me. I can even hear their breath. The HMV master tapes of such amazing recordings were long destroyed due to poor maintenance and this is the only recourse we have. Thank you for a superb digital transfer!
