'After you've gone'--Karen Wyman (1970).
Музыка
A smashing version of the 1929 standard, from a singer about whom I know very little. I understand she was signed to US Decca around 1969 at age 16, and made one album for them, plus two later albums for Columbia before apparently abandoning music altogether.
This disc was in a box of 45s given to me long ago, and was already in poor condition when I got it. While I made an effort to eradicate the artifacts of the worst scratches and digs, some noises remain, as I couldn't eliminate them all without doing injury to the sound of the music.
Arranged and conducted by Peter Matz (Eydie Gorme, the Carol Burnett Show).
IN STEREO.

So fine & sophisicated and remember loving Karen Wyman & wondering why she disappeared right after great Columbia Lp "Karen Wyman"...stunning "After You've Gone" is brilliant from Lp filled with incredible performances from such a young singer who is so mature & perfection with great Peter Matz arrangements...Bravo Karen and would be wondrous hearing you again!
This is my first time hearing the beautiful voice of Karen Wyman. She deserved to be a mega star. There are shades of Streisand and Minelli in there. Wow what a performance.
There are just a few who can do this justice: Garland & Gorme are two and Karen Wyman is another...This and the flip of "I Don't Know How To Love Him" were on every juke box in 1970...She tears the ass out of this one!
Wow !!! Fantastic !!!
Thanks, Ian!
