The Merrimac stank in the 70s, thanks to the government paying for sewerage treatment back then, it became much cleaner. I remember homes selling for under 16 000 back then, now most of those homes are a half million.Unfortunately the life span for these plants are close to over with the expectation that the towns will pick up the cost.
