In October 2023, the Reel Quest Films crew made the trip to the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn to film a video for Syso Technologies.
We met the folks at Syso through 1% for the Planet, a non-profit that companies can join to pledge 1% of their sales to environmental causes, and to find vetted environmental organizations to donate to (Reel Quest has been a member of 1% for the Planet since our founding.) Syso creates tools that make renewable electricity installations more efficient and therefore more profitable. For this video, we visited one of their clients, Microgrid Networks, a battery storage facility in New York. The New York grid is insanely diverse and complicated and decarbonizing that grid (really 70 different grids) economically will require more storage facilities like this one.
