In October 2023, the Northeast Wilderness Trust asked Reel Quest to produce a short nature film highlighting the rewilding potential of a new preserve they aim to create: Birch Stream Wilderness Preserve. Nestled in the heart of Maine in Lagrange, a vast wetland complex serves as a vital habitat for diverse waterfowl like the American Black Duck. Nearby, an expansive pine forest on the relatively flat terrain serves as crucial winter bedding grounds for deer. The East Branch Stream, Rawlins Brook, Tenmile Brook, and Birch Stream traverse the landscape, converging into the Stillwater River, and eventually joining the mighty Penobscot River.
