I find it funny it was the Jedi that created the sith in the long run with the banished ancient Je'daii who would end creating the sith order and empire. Then later more sith order appear later and many of them being formed by former Jedi with the exception of the rule of two started by bane and vitiates sith empire. Their were some sith trying make their own empire during vitiate era when the first one fell burn his lasted longer and Jedi had no idea his empire existed at time. New sith empire was formed by a Jedi and if not mistaken it was a former Jedi who created the brotherhood of darkness.

Fun fact: if the Separatists had given Dooku the finger and just broken away from the Republic - walked out of the Senate and stopped paying taxes- there would have been no war.

The Clone Wars were a rebellion against taxation of the outer worlds by the Republic. The Separatists would have absolutely hated the Empire, which seized resources and private property at will for the military.

Or better yet, imagine a Sith Empire led by Darth Maul as its emperor that organizes itself during the Clone Wars and first and a half decades of the Galactic Empire’s reign. First it attacks the Rebel Alliance and by the following year it operates against the Galactic Empire, forcing the latter and the former to arrange a truce against an entire armada and army of sith warriors, knights, acolytes, troopers, etc.

People are pretty complacent about injustice that doesn’t directly immediately impact them in real life. Companies refuse to adhere to anti-slavery measures because making sure their foreign contractors aren’t using slaves would be “too expensive” in real life and developed world consumers DO NOT CARE.

The fact that the people who had legitimate grievances against corruption in the Republic got in line behind the very megacorps responsible for said corruption makes them all too stupid to take seriously. Unfortunately “civil servants are on the take from megacorps, so let’s get rid of them and just make the megacorps completely unregulated” is a regular refrain of right-wing astroturf movements in real life as well.

Are they the most dangerous threat? Yes and no Yes: Because they are so numerous and ´can live in such small areas that humans and other aliens would suffer from in overpopulation and work as a hive mind. No: Because they don't really seek to expand and conquer. Only the CIS encouraged them to do so to a few planets. Which doesn't make them as threateningly numerous as they could be.
