    Hi, I'm from Russia and I have exactly the same old dad's chainsaw poulan 2450, which hasn't been used for more than 18 years. It seems I have exactly the same problem with a broken gas line. Thanks a lot for the detailed video!

    A Mapp gas torch for heat shrink? seems a bit excessive to me. I use a cigarette lighter. Something odd about that tank. On the brand new 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim I had way back when, the Yamaha emblems were attached to the tank with screws. That tank looks perfectly smooth on the sides.

    I owned one of these back when it was new. I never needed to work on it other than routine maintenance. I spent a lot of time waxing and polishing it. I just discovered that these bikes have Hitachi carburetors. I've worked on hundreds of Mikuni and Kehein carbs, but don't think I've ever touched a Hitachi before. I was surprised by all those extra jets all over the place. To clean tanks I first wash them out by filling them fill of Superclean, and letting it soak for at least 24 hours. be careful with it, it will take the skin right off your hands, and I mean like right now. That should get all the old gas residue out. Rinse it thoroughly with water, and if there is a lot of rust in it, remove the petcock, plug the hole, then fill the tank with full strength muriatic acid and let it soak for several hours. pour it out, flush it good with water, then pour in about a quart of WD-40 and slosh it around to prevent flash rusting. You will need a new O ring for the petcock. I use Allen screws to replace all of the float bowl screws and top cover screws. No more problems getting them out.

    It really sucks seeing what was once such a beautiful bike in that condition. I bought a brand new Yamaha Maxim 650 in 1982. It was my first new bike. It was a replacement for my first street bike, a 1980 Yamaha XS400 Special I bought slightly used. Before that I had been riding dual sport on/off road bikes. Yamaha made such beautiful, high quality bikes back then.

    13:45 Yeah, I'm gonna ask you a question. Where could I get? A vow head overhead valve boat for the passenger side topping on the cap. I'm missing one. Where could I go get one at and what would the car brighter sit if I rebuilt him? Cause he would have straight dirt and rushed. In and I took the jets out and cleaned them and put them back in. Could you tell me what the terms are on the car? Drivers was not didn't have a gasket or it was rotted or something, and I replaced it, and number one piston that would be on the left side was all dark and kind it looked like. I don't know, like a goldfish look like it was getting old cause.I guess it's licking old or it wouldn't get the right mixture of air but the bike was running on three

Do you also get any messages on your dashboard after the controller install while in tow . Last question do you have any problems like the GM owners with the 2023and 2024 With the brake controllers preinstalled

    how is doing rope technique?plz explain it more

  • @kevinon4wheels
    @kevinon4wheels3 ай бұрын

    Hello. If you have a thin rope, you can stuff it in the cylinder with the piston down. Then when you crank the bolt the piston will compress on the rope allowing the bolt to loosen but not cause any damage to the piston. Then you can pull the rope out. Just make sure you leave enough hanging out so you can pull it

    Just a suggestion, instead of using starting fluid that could wash the oil off the insides. You could get an oil squirter and squirt a small amount of fuel mix into the carb. Otherwise an awesome video of an old home lite. I’m currently working on a 240. It runs well but seems to loose fuel and just cuts off. Im hope I g it’s just dirt in the tank. We shall see
