I just picked one up for $400 with a bent frame. Apparently the previous owners rode it without the front of the frame attached to the motor. So all the stress went into the backbone, and the bike folded itself in half. I tried fixing it but it just was to far bent in so many places. So I'm getting a used frame and going through the whole bike. Sad to say that as I went further along, I found more and more wrong. I'm at about $1100 now. At this point I could have just bought one in running condition. But at least I know this one has been entirely gone through, and everything is getting fixed properly along the way.

Ugh. Been there before. It’s going yo be better than anything at $1,500 since you know you did it right. And could sell it for more than you have into it
