"Wear a mask or you'll kill grandma". It's so sad to watch these otherwise talented and smart musically, musicians, be so gullible and get so easily duped politically. Even just 30 or so years ago, these types of musicians, who generally lean liberal, would not trust anything the government, mass media says, and would have "smash your TV" bumper stickers. Now they are puppets and an advertisement for all aspects of the regime and their propaganda. Pleasure to listen, but hard to watch. SAD!!!

Superb musicianship. Robin Nolan in my humble opinion has a very distinctive and personal approach to playing the guitar, a unique style for which the qualification 'gypsy jazz' seems to me too narrow. It's like he has absorbed that gypsy style to the point of really making it his own. A truly original voice!

Robin, I just found this video, wow, what a legend to be sitting with, Howard Roberts protégé Howard Alden. Howard Roberts, was/is one of the non - gypsy players I love. Its a shame he didn't live long enough to play with any of the great gypsy players. His son Jay is a fantastic player who has played with Howard Alden, but never any gypsy players. It be great to get Jay out to play with the Gypsy jazz players, that I know of. Since getting into Gypsy Jazz, for me anyway, I feel the gypsy players solo's sound better than the regular jazz players. Its got nothing to do with technical proficiency either, I just feel the Gypsy way of phrasing, and the way they frame their solo's are just more musical. In terms of feeling I get WAY more out of the gypsy's. This doesn't apply to the older greats I've always loved, like Joe Pass, Howard Roberts, etc, although, on some songs, it does apply. Great video thx.

If it wasn't for Joshco, I wouldn't know about Gypsy jazz. I saw him being interviewed on Troy Grady's "Cracking The Code," Thats when I first heard about Gypsy Jazz. I started to seriously get into it in the summer of 2020. Thx for this video Robin and Joshco.
