Epimetheus

Hi this is Epimetheus! On this channel I cover the histories of nations empires and people from all over the world. I especially enjoy focusing on areas that are covered less in the mainstream or examining a familiar topic from a different perspective.
Historical topics are combined with animated maps and visuals that I draw, to hopefully condense complicated subjects into a understandable framework that will leave you wanting to learn more.
I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I have enjoyed making them :)

34,000 years ago, the mammoth hunters of Sunghir Russia were using ivory beads religiously and burying their dead with weapons, rich grave goods, and red ocher. These mammoth hunters inherited genes, culture, and behavior from violent, cannibalistic Neanderthals. Their descendants have an inherited preference for the color red, color of fresh blood, and an obsession with lethal weapons, divisiveness, conflict, slavery, massacres, warfare, and genocide. Their religion worshipped death and the dead, and included human sacrifice and blood sacrifice. The descendants of these Ancient Northern Eurasians created the symbol of the swastika (the "Mark of Cain") and the symbol of the star and crescent (created by Huns, used by American Confederates and by Islamic nations). Early European Farmers who inherited genes associated with violence and cannibalism were practicing ritual human sacrifice and cannibalism in Herxheim Germany 7,000 years ago. The Early European Farmers who worshipped Ham (Hamangia, Hammon, Hammar, Jameh...) began to spread paganism, human sacrifice, inherited nobility, slavery, and warfare throughout the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, Mesopotamia, the Levant, North Africa, and the Arabian Peninsula at least 6,500 years ago. These ancient farmers who carried genes associated with violence also spread the symbol of the swastika, the symbol of the star and crescent, and the symbol of an "X" which originated in Neolithic Kazakhstan which became Saint Andrew's saltire, Saint Patrick's Saltire, the Scottish flag, the British flag, the Russian Navy ensign, the Spanish Cross of Burgundy, the Jamaican flag (named for Jameh), the flag of the State of Florida, the flag of the Confederate States of America, and the flag of the State of Alabama (named for Elo Ba'al Hamae, or EloBa'Ama). Wherever these ancient Huns migrated, you will find warfare and red flags. 23,000 years ago, the people living beside the Sea of Galilee were grinding grain into flour and using nets to catch fishes, waterfowl, and gazelles. These people probably exited Africa after the extinction of the Neanderthals. Their descendants became the first fishers, shepherds, and farmers. Their religion worshipped water and life, and they were drawn to the color of natural pools of water. Their descendants constructed the first megalithic civilizations, including Gobekli Tepe in Eastern Anatolia over 12,000 years ago. 10,200 years ago, Gobekli Tepe was abandoned as the result of an invasion of violent Northern Eurasians. At this time, the refugees from Eastern Anatolia and the Levant began to spread into Europe, with farmers migrating to Northern Europe and fisher shepherds following the coast of the Mediterranean to the Iberian Peninsula and to Britain. The descendants of ancient Eastern Anatolian megalithic builders constructed Stonehenge. But at the time that Stonehenge was completed, most of the male descendants of the Eastern Anatolians had vanished from Anatolia and Europe, replaced by a maritime culture that carried genes which originated in the Eurasian Steppe, and the descendants of Early European Farmers who worshipped the deity Ham. This maritime culture became the Phoenician Canaanites, Bell Beaker people. This population replacement occured when the slaves of Egypt were constructing pyramids for the elite Pharaohs of Egypt who worshipped the deity Hammon, or Ammon. So, the reason that the descendants of Hebrews have always been a target of violence, slavery, and massacres can be traced to two causes. 1) The Hebrews were skilled and productive, they were hard working and successful, and they had resources which could be stolen and plundered. 2) The Eurasian Canaanites who worshipped the deity Ham were violent and irrational raiders with a lust for blood, slaves, and gold, who lacked fear of death, who lacked empathy for others, whose ancestors had a survival strategy that included hunting, killing, taking, colonizing, and exploiting other people.

Japan could not have defeated Russia without the aid & encouragement of London Bankers (who still hate Russia with a mighty hate...). Nor would the USA have so cockily provoked Japan into WWII through its naval blockades of their islands - were it not for the instigation & aid of the same London Bankers....just sayin'...

The Mongols were shit at sea invasions. Partly because they didn't have the maritime technology in that era and Mongols were land focused. Also a word of warning to the CCP. Seaborne invasions of Islands etc. is extremely difficult and often fails.

I dont understand why technologic advancements seemed to come so slowly, even in societies that were seemingly stable and that lasted for thousands of years.... why did paper take so long to be invented, or iron tools by societies that existed for thousands of years and were already familiar with some metal work? farming seems like a no brainer, with societies taking up farming and animal husbandry as soon as their brains evolved enough for language and cooperative society....

It was truly unfortunate for the Mongols to invade Java when the Game of Thrones war was already underway, not to mention that the weather and tropical land were not friendly to them. Dyah Wijaya (Raden Wijaya) was very clever in seeing this, including the Mongols as a means of revenge in order to seize the Javanese throne.

Thanks for sharing, However I do not believe THIS version of his\story what I believe is that massinissa cld have been calles mansa nesu; A possible progenitor of the (mansa) line. I,e khan khan musa& mansa musa... it is believed rome had NO CHOICE but to activate their imprisoned mercenary forces, on pain of death. It is also believed rome paid massnissa to betray hannibal, as they were both afrikaans. (1st nations paid for mercenary armies, same as today) It is believed 12:43 is where masanissa Betrayed Hannibal. Just a alternative POV.🎉

Very simply explained, taken from a 3rd grade textbook. The Bulgarians are mentioned in 354, they are a mix of groups of tribes of Indo-European origin, with a dynastic beginning led by the Hun leader Attila. They inhabited the territories of today's Hungary, Romania and Ukraine, and very often the tribes fought with each other, encouraged by the Romans. The Eastern Roman Empire mentions the founding tribal groups the Kutrigurs and Utigurs, from which Kubrat's Old Great Bulgaria arose. I mention the dates to say that these are not some nomads from Asia, but a population of Scythian origin that has been in these lands for centuries.bg.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A3%D1%82%D0%B8%D0%B3%D1%83%D1%80%D0%B8

@@petertodorov9540 Another thing I meant was that in the regions where Khan Asparukh goes, there were Bulgarians or tribes related to them, there have been for many years. That is why I am against the theory that Bulgarians are small in number. Otherwise, some parts of tribes related to the Bulgarians inhabited the Caucasus, and some funeral rituals, close to the Persian ones, come from there. But when we talk about the proto-Bulgarians, it is good to mention that they are a mix of tribes with a close culture, but sometimes they have significant differences and a large part of these Caucasian Bulgarians, then lost their roots and were assimilated by the Khazars, as well as other nations. To some extent, I agree with historians who consider the Bulgarians as a nation-builder, even under Khan Kubrat.
