1960-1966 the whole of the ground floor was the infants (no specialist/nursery classes in those days). The upstairs was the juniors, but they had to build an annexe on the front lawn and take over an old Victorian school to provide about six extra classrooms. Much of the grounds have been built on, needed a lot of outdoor space for that many of us!

The buildings at the end of this vlog were the Catering Section which is were my wife started her RAF career as clerk caterer admin. Top times in the 80’s here at Fenton and many very happy memories so it’s hard to see how the place was left after being immaculate. Thanks gents for a great vlog.

I was based there in the mid 80’s and the building you were in approx 42 mins was the airman’s NAAFI the Galaxy Club. Had many a great night in there. Sad to see places like the airman’s mess in that state as it was a lovely mess and great food. I think the other bar you showed earlier was the ‘Families’ club where they had functions at weekends sometimes. It was a brilliant camp, happy days! Great videos fellas.

I was in the RAFP SQN at Laarbruch 77 to 80 those rear doors where opened when aircraft where started, I worked QRA armed guard duties we carried orthentication pack to realise a QRA aircraft on alert in my day Buccaneer S2 one from 15sqn the second from 16sqn the QRA was on the farside of the airfield in line with SSA approximately quarter of a mile away I think you where behind 16 sqn HAS's interesting to see the old place

Served at Laarbruch 1977 to 1980 we had two squadrons flying the Buccaneer 15sqn and 16 sqn plus a Jaguar squadron 2PR sqn was a big busy air base

Hello there, its mainly due to the different materials encountered during tunneling. The natural rock and soil changes along the route meaning different shoring methods

Fascinating video Andy. I was wondering about glass in the windows as well. Although very basic, they look pretty solidly built. Very tough living conditions though 🙁. Also, amazing to think that the person who made that perfectly formed handprint in the mortar will be no longer with us 😌

Wonderful video, Andy and Paul. You folks certainly got a better weather than Ian and the IKS team, that's for sure. An astonishing place. Love the subtle differences in grey and green colour of the slate extracted from Dinorwic. Is it just me seeing it, the angle of the lense or is the outer wall of the brake house giving way towards the hill? Would be a shame if so. Looking forward to the next video. The weather sure was a blessing. We were moving quickly due to the rain that was forcast but it never came. The plan was to film the adits when the weather turned but as it stayed sunny we filmed more and more outside. I hope you have a nice weekend too.

Well done guys 👍😊 My first ever Park Run was at East Park. I'd taken up running again after a 22 year break. I've just dug the text out - 3rd November 2012. I came in 135th with a time of 26min 11sec. Switched to Peter Pan Park Run when that was launched and ran that many times before having to unfortunately give up running in 2018 😕

They were getting 20-30 people at first but before long they were regularly attracting 200+ and still are ☺ When I had to give up, I was the "unofficial photographer" for a while.
