The best thing about this software that you didn’t mention is the fact that everything happens locally on your machine, no need to upload your photos after a shoot to get edited in a server somewhere. No Wi-Fi necessary either.

Also ran into the DNG Converter update issue... unfortunately, I had to go through the process of the edits for an 8,000 photo album twice... then contacted support and was told to update the DNG Converter... then, went back and saw there was an update available to train my profile on the new exposure and white balance (merely 4 hours after I had downloaded and installed the new software)... I'm afraid that whatever time I save by using this will wind up getting eaten by trying to get the software to work... Do I see the benefit, yes. Do I like that there's a 30-day trial, yes.. but this could be done much more smoothly IMO.

What effect does printing have on resolution? Squirting wet ink onto absorbent paper must surely reduce the sharpness of an individual pixel (in a good way actually).

I have a serious quandary! I was originally a Windows user, tried a friend's Mac for a few days, and immediately purchased a Mac. Left Windows behind except a PC for occasional gaming, and after YEARS I still love the Mac OS. I mean absolutely LOVE the Mac OS. Problem? I HATE Apple because their hardware gets worse all of the time. The M1, 2, 3 etc. processors (ARM) are amazing. Yet Apple's greed has led them to solder everything to the motherboard, the NAND is on the SSD so if your SSD goes bad, you must trash your Mac and buy a new one because the SSD is not replaceable, the memory is not replaceable or upgradeable, the graphics and CPU are soldered to the motherboard, so basically you have one hell of an overly-expensive paper weight if ANYTHING goes bad on your Mac. I could go on about the maddening BS Apple gets away with when it comes to their actual hardware. After more years than I care to remember, I have come to the conclusion that APPLE SUCKS, especially since Steve Jobs passed away... and it's getting worse. Apple execs are so f@ckin' rich and apparently out-of-touch with those "beneath them" they apparently "feel" everyone can just simply toss perfectly good hardware in the garbage if something goes wrong, and purchase new Macs... just like that. Apple is so out of touch and their heads so far up their rears, well, of course they cannot see what their exorbitant and crappy hardware schemes do to loyal customers, nor do they even [apparently] care. So basically, I love the Mac OS and HATE Windows in comparison... but I love having a choice of what hardware I want (I build PC's when needed), but I HATE Apple hardware, and I hate Apple itself and the crappy tech bus they seem to cruise around on since Mr. Jobs' passing. I was an absolute Apple afficionado until Tim Cook and company started reverting back to their idiotic pre-Jobs ways. After all, they almost ran themselves out of business in the mid- nineties because of the proprietary hardware scheme they seem to be rapidly returning to from those near-fateful days. I wish MS would get a few HUGE Mac OS clues... logical and functional behaviors the Mac OS has natively that should be inherent in any modern OS... functionality the Mac OS has had for probably 20 years now. And/or I wish Apple would at least allow their customers to replace and/or increase crucial items such as memory, drives, etc.... like PC's have allowed for MORE THAN 20 years! Sorry for the rant... seriously sorry! But I am at one hell of a serious impasse at this time. So, I agree with this channel's OP about Windows, but I completely disagree with his enthusiasm for Apple hardware. Again... SORRY for the rant!

I once used 2 sets of Rode Wireless Pro and I didnt know at first that the venue has a high traffic wifi zone. Drove me crazy. First issue before the start of recording, the transmitters were sending signals in different receivers. Second issue, both transmitters started sending signals in right and different receivers (1 tx of set 1 was sending to rx set 1 and the other tx of set 1 sending to a different rx), third issue during the start of event was signals were getting constantly cut. Fourth issue was I turned on 32 bit float recording on all tx but the signals were also getting cut. It was a nightmare. All in the 2.4 g wifi bullcrap

I chose the F4 version from Sony because it is compact and therefore fits my Sony A7Cr wonderfully. In terms of quality, the optics are quite comparable to the 2.8 variant and the macro function is an addition that allows someone who only occasionally does macros to save money on a specialized lens. Together with the Sony F4/20-70 it forms a wonderfully compact and visually appealing combination for all occasions without having to compromise on quality.

Since posting this video, I’ve had sooo many people reach out to me. The shocking thing…they all have different diets. For some, eating all meat helped put them in remission. For others, cutting broccoli and cauliflower worked. Others removed milk and cheeses. Some like you remove fruit. Overall I can’t seem to find any commonality and it makes me think the mechanism for Crohn’s disease isn’t a single thing but rather the name is an umbrella term for a lot of different diseases that cause a similar response. Thanks for sharing! -P

I got my hands on the 20 MP R6 and 45 MP R5 and upscaled the R6 files to match the R5 (you can pick MP output in Adobe Camera Raw). I then layered the files on top of each other without labelling them. My friend and I have about 35 years of photo/PS experience and even when zoomed in to 100% on 5K monitors, we often couldn't tell which was which. Our hit rate was about 50%. Then I used the Adobe built in Superscale feature to upscale the R6 files and then downsample them to match the 45 MP of the R5 and repeated the above. We picked the R6 files as sharper and more detailed 90% of the time. This was in portrait, studio and landscape photos using the best RF primes. Finally we did the same but used a free AI upscale on the R6 files, then downsampled to 45 MP and repeated the above. 100% of the time we picked the R6 files as sharper and more detailed. MP is truly overrated at this point. I think on full frame 35mm sensors that we have reached a near saturation point. I've also had billboards made from 8 MP 1D2N files that looked amazing! Because of this I got the R6 II (24 MP) instead of the R5 and got better AF, and other newer features and used the $2000 I saved on a 70-200 lens. The lens and AF accuracy makes a bigger difference than the MP ultimately. A 24 MP cam with a great lens and perfect AF will match or beat a 45 MP cam with a good lens and maybe slightly off AF. And even when all things are perfect for both the difference in real world (prints, etc) is not noticable anymore. And the same applies to cropping (as you can blow up the smaller files then crop though I never crop).

Lots of additional technical comments here. A complex subject that I feel can be expanded on in future videos. Best use of higher MP in camera is the ability to heavy crop part of the image without loss of definition / sharpness. When you next open a large mp photo view it at 100% and scroll around the entire periphery of the image. You'll realise how insanely massive your photo is even if it is printed at 300dpi. Now of you were to half the dpi your print has the potential to be twice as big again and will look good at nose close. Now go twice as big again and it will look good at 8 feet away. All quite ridiculous for your average shooter who in reality had more than enough pixels with their 20 year old dslr 8mp.

You look print, not pixels. In print, you see dots. Dots are a so-called halftone screen. And it is measured in lines per inch. How many lines are enough to see a clear image from one foot distance? 150 lpi. Lpi × 2 = resolution. 150 × 2 = 300ppi. It is an old formula.

May I remind a nice and clever functionality of the DJI Mic 2, that eliminates the need for using wired capsules with screw-on type jack connectors...? The moving part of the transmitter clip has a small groove hidden inside. This is to grip the cable after doing a loop. This combination acts like a safety against unplugging + a safety against traction on the cable itself. And there... no problems of compatibility (or lack of), because you don't care about locking-ring size and else : you can plug any type of 3.5 mm jack connector and still have it safely in place for your whole filming. DJI was more clever than many think they are ! 😇
