Thanks for the update. Curtis Judd had issues, too, a few weeks ago, but he released a final review that came out this week and didn’t mention any of the problems he initially had. So, I asked him if he received a firmware update from DJI with fixes, and he said yes. But I wish he would have mentioned that in his final review. Thanks for keeping us updated.

The receiver turns off random at me once and I found out that sometimes, if you touch the contact pins (those copper dots that connects the reciever to the charging case), it triggers a shut down similar on when you put it back in the case. I have tried to replicate tha shut down many times but manage to do it only twice and with a very specific way of contact on the pins.

The locking connector flub was such a non-issue -- extremely common for those of us with substantial field experience using a variety of lavs and receivers. (I once lost an entire celebrity interview that way.) The locking portion can usually be easily removed for more compatibility, and I simply forgot (never again).

For what it’s worth, we have the 1st gen system. Love it. Recently bought a bluetooth transmitter for my airpods and tried recording an interview while monitoring the sound from the A7s3 with the Bluetooth adapter - the theory being wireless monitoring would literally free me up to float while filming and yet still constantly monitoring sound. BUT… it was interfering with the DJI transmission and made our recording to our A7s3 very garbled- just like what happens to you. And also like you, the on-board recording was fine. I was able to figure it out because we use to use a Sennheiser system but something was wrong with the recordings which at first I blamed on the camera, then the cable. Took we a while to realize the compact elbow receiver did not like being within 2ft of our PMW-F5. Once I let it dangle off of it, everything was great. Maybe that helps you sleuth out the issue somehow?

Direct connection from like a DAC to the transmitter works well tho and hearing the audio from the receiver interestingly the audio from the headphone port is more full rather than the orange output port. I had the exact same problem with the interference on a different brand but similar feature set. I am currently in contact with customer service to get the issue resolved, and they have responded to my problems within a reasonable time frame. The Ankerwork M650 are very similar in features to the DJI mic 2, and I actually prefer their round shape over the rectangular DJI. However, just as you said in this video, the audio was completely unusable and I was using them in a "live streaming setting". The first set would get the interfence randomly and this was in a rural setting with no major sources of interference such as cell phone towers, transformers, large power lines and etc. I isolated each side of the stereo audio through a mixer and both mics had the same issue even though one was more prone to the problem. I eventually duplicated the problem with nothing but a cellphone and the mic set with all other electronics removed. They replaced that set and the replacement set had the same issue but I could easily duplicate the problem by being outside of a 25 foot range. Yes, I did say that correct, outside of 25 feet, straight line of sight with no obstructions the audio was unusable. However, the first set would work at times with a range of several hundred feet, even through building walls. So, I believe there may be some QC issues regarding reception that use a common component to both systems. My audio anomaly sounds the exact same, as that poor reception, garbled jibberish that you display in this video.

I had issues with the Mic2 as well. I purchased 3 completed sets as well as 3 OSMO Pocket 3 creator sets. All Mic2s from OSMO creator sets AND Mic2 sets work with the OSMO Pocket 3 and can be easily paired and swapped. The issue is that within an hour the mics refused to pair to two of the receivers. I went through DJIs troubleshooting and they eventually asked me to return the two DJI Mic2 Sets that wouldn’t pair with the receivers. Hopefully this can be fixed through an update, but even that can’t happen unless it can be loaded directly onto the Mic2 it’s self. I also had the same interference issues but only if I was around a 2.4ghz source… like you guessed it WiFi. The mics worked beautifully away from WiFi sources:( Hope this helps someone.

Maybe later production runs were higher quality than reviewer samples. Or maybe there are production issues that will be reflected in overall reviews once sampling biases goes away. Great to know that DJI doesn’t cherry pick reviewer samples :) Feels a bit like the Canon R5 debacle but worse, and R5 issues could be mitigated with firmware update or less demanding video settings. DJI malfunctioning in various strange ways at its core functionality seems way worse.

ok so im really happy that the noise cancel button can be disabled ! .. but this is what I dont get ... this tx is small , so most men have banana hands and holding the tx to put in their pocket , its easy to hold the power button and turn it off including recording ! .. how is this possible ??? surely all they had to do was a disable all tx buttons via rx !! its just so frustrating ,,,.. please can everyone message dji ? all we want is a hold option like the zoom h1 which is ancient !

It’s the battle of a wireless transmission company and a microphone company at making the best wireless microphone!

I don't do tech reviews, but I have 1100 videos up on KZread, so I heavily rely on technology. My DJI Mic V2 has worked flawlessly. Although I don't use lav mics often anymore, I do have a couple of Rode Lav mics that worked well with my DJI Mic V1 kit. Next time I shoot, I will test my Rode lavs to make sure they work, just in case. I am glad the V2 kit works without a receiver on my Pocket 3, and I plan on replacing my Action 3 with the 4 just for the built-in receiver. When it comes to tech, I like less but better: no receiver and no wire, just turn on the mic and see the audio bar bouncing across the top of the screen. Plus, I use the Mic V2 without a receiver directly with my iPhone and MacBook Pro. It has simplified my setup time and has worked 100% so far. I do have the 32-bit internal record set up to auto-start when I record but haven't needed it yet. No receiver, no wire from receiver to camera, no lav mic plugged in. Turn on the mic and hit record; great audio and foolproof, which I need as a solo creator with no one to check audio or video; I just need it to work every time.

It’s great that it works for you but “great audio” over Bluetooth with this kit seems like a huge stretch from every example out there. To be clear I’m not saying it’s not perfect for your use case and keeping the capture and post at the perfect level for you, but in the context beyond social media, the BT transmission is only slightly better than most BT headsets.

Thanks Bro! Only because "every other review is so positive" that means nothing. A lot of reviews are payed, don´t forget that. Your isues are your issues, END of the story. Try another unit and let us know!

To be quite honest with you it was probably just interference from a Wi-Fi device. If your watch is transmitting a video signal or your router is sending 6 gigahertz or 5 GHz signal. You never really know what that type of stuff and you'll never get a street answer out of engineers. Although for some reason I thought you might know this lol

It is entirely possible that the janky sound could have been your camera processing the audio.

This is exactly why these mics are great. Issue with transmission. Internal recording to save the day.

Weird that the way the 3.5 locking jack is designed makes it incompatible with female jacks without the locking threads. That’s a really stupid design choice.

Every time I listen to an audio recorded on the DJI mic 2, it sounds awful no matter the chanel. I have a lot of respect for DJI and own several of their products but how could DJI mess that 1 that bad is baffling?!?!?!

Haha, it's just you! I've had no issues. Obviously the mic works and the issue is transmission and/or the receiver. When you get the new unit, try it at home and somewhere remote. Sennheiser lavs are a PITA when not used with Sennheiser equip.

The DJI mics use TRS and the lav mics people are using are TRRS. So you’ll need an adapter or a TRS lav mic according to this KZreadr: kzread.info/dash/bejne/daKCxJV8o7nLZps.htmlsi=fP9B5MWjncfL1g68

A lot of problems also here… It’s unreliable! The connection with iPhone is so poor that you may not realise that your smartphone is not connected properly to the receiver. Appearently you are recording, but in fact you are not!!! Very bad surprise… Nice design very poorly assembled
