I too was born in 1981, and I don't consider myself a real Millennial. I just call myself a Min-Xer. I just had the unfortunate fate of being born on a year that some loser in some stuffy office decided to make the year of 1981 a year for Millennials. I was raised the same way Gen X was raised. I didn't even have my first gaming console until I was almost ten. Even when I did get an Atari 2600, and later an NES, my parents would kick me out of the house at a certain hour, so my gaming time was limited. I spent more time on my bike than I did playing Super Mario Bros. If I wanted to play games, I'd have to do so before bed, and IF I wanted to play games, I'd better have my homework done, and have taken a bath first. Otherwise, I'd go to bed without games. My parents didn't let video games, movies or anything raise me. They were in my life, and I got those things as a reward for good behavior. I racked up so many injuries as a kid, but it made me tougher. So yeah, there's a dang good reason why I consider myself more Gen X than Millennial. However, if I have to be labeled as one, I'll do it on my own terms. So Min-X it is!

We graduated in 1999. The term "Millennial" originally described children who would graduate in the year 2000 or beyond. How can we be Millennials? Was half of our graduating class in a different generation? This is asinine.

I have a similar pontoon boat with a 30 lb thrust and it was struggling to go up River against a little bit of current. I get what you're saying about a 55 lb thrust not being any faster but do you think it would help getting up the current better?

I recently joined a local fly fishing club and while chatting with a few of the old timers I mentioned that I've had a kayak for a few years but I've only taken it out once, but hoped to get it out some more. They looked at each other and laughed before telling me that if I was comfortable in the kayak I would have had it out dozens of times. They're probably right, they whipped out their phones filled with their pontoon rigs and told me to get one, I'd love it. I haven't yet because you can't just leave a pontoon boat upside down in the yard like a kayak, but your video shows how to store it. In the next couple of weeks the kayak will be for sale. Thanks for your video.

@@moonsy-9733 they've been shifting timelines a lot more recently, I have an old dictionary collegiate that gave the boundaries for the baby boom generation from 1940 to 1960 and one of my recent dictionaries it came out in the late 90s early 2000s it said the beginning of the baby boom was 1941, so like I said even though every other definition in our society can shift and change it's always good to have hard data and everything backed up on paper, because events and dates can change with electronics and if you weren't born and you didn't see a change you don't know.

I was born in 85 so should make me a millenial, but I grew up with an analogue childhood. I played football outside in the street all day. Rode my bikes, climbes trees. Played some video games with friends in the same room. I used rotary landlines, I didn't get my first mobile phone til i was 15. I used dial up internet on the only computer in the house with a monitor heavier than my car. Hearing that dial tone ringing through and the awful hissing and screeching sounds followed by "you've got mail". I always felt like I can associate much more closely with Gen X than Millenials as far as my childhood went. I feel like I'm too old to be a fully fledged Millenial, but born too late to claim Gen X

Question for you. I have a Colorado XT that I'll be using on a fairly wide slow moving river. The river's current can be up to 5 mph. How fast does your 30 lb thrust motor move your XT? I'm trying to get an idea if 30 lbs is enough for my needs. Tnx

  • @willritter

The trick i guys is how fast do you want to move up current. I don't think I can go 5mph... Though I'm not sure. If I can, it's not much over 5, which would make it a very slow trip upsteam

I'm a 1996 putting together a break down millennial rhetoric videos and honestly I'm on the farther end of the specturm and too loathed the idea of being a millennial but not because I hate millennials npw like op I just dont like some of the behavior frm yesteryear. I dont feel like what "pew research" defines as millennial even coincides with my life or anyone i know born in 95/96. I don't exactly feel zoomer either but millennials immense dentity and connection to the 90's missed me by a longshot as I dont really remember the decade. I was not old enough to vote for Bush 04, Obama 08 & 12. I was not affected by the recession i was in 6th grade. I do not remember Y2K, life before the internet, (i was born a few years after it came to be). I had social media as early as 11, and sure I vaugely remember 9/11.... weeks before I started kindergaten but again thats not the same as being fully aware of the implications of the event. I don't think millennials which was coined as coming of age at the turn of the century fits a person who was three years old in 2000 just learning to piss straight, since when did coming of age mean a toddler? But what do I know I'm not the expert of my own life, pew research is. As someone raised by gen xers born in the mid 70's they are 98% more culturally similar to 1981-1983 than 1981-1983 will ever be to me or vice versa but stupid people outside of these ranges who fall neatly in these generalizations treat generations like theyre some kind of hard science backed by loads of research when its just zodiacs reimagend lol.
