Watched a few of your videos after going down the rabbit hole of wanting a pontoon. Just found out you live in Idaho as well. Im in the Boise area and fish CJ strike, Brownlee and snake river often!

We actually found those nasty grass carp work the best just gig them when they up to the surface depending on the size use a butcher knife and hack it into 3-4 big chunks weigh it down in a mesh sack and in less than 10 minutes your homemade barrel trap will be completely full.

Awesome watch! We set pillow traps in swamps here in South Alabama, I mean dozens of them sometimes, and often don't do as well as you did here! A tangle trap made of bird netting or ruined cast net also keeps snakes from climbing poles into birdhouses. Stay safe!

Hi Barbara, locals call it Roseworth. Every reservoir in southern Idaho has LOTS of crawdads.

We just moved to Twin Falls and LOVE fishing for everything. We have struggled to find a place to do bank fishing (poles and crawfish traps). Every place we have found with bank access is extremely crowded doing other water activities. We don’t mind driving a couple hours if we have to… does anyone have any suggestions on good places to bank fish? 🙏🏼 😭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Magic, Salmon Falls Creek, CJ Strike, etc. Take a look at the Fishing Regulations. It has a big list and a map. Look for "Family Fishing Waters". Easy access and plenty of fish. Welcome to the valley!

They are an invasive species developed to get bigger than the red claw crawfish in south texas through Louisiana Mississippi. They are called signal crayfish. The same thing happened when I was in college at Colorado state university. We would go trout fishing at a pond that ran next to the puder river and one night we kept getting bite’s but couldn’t set the hook while we were fishing and my buddy said maybe we should use smaller hooks with the grasshoppers we had caught. Sure enough he set the hook on something and while he was reeling it in he said this fish is acting weird it keeps jumping backwards. I was from texas and he was from Mississippi and sure enough he brings in this crayfish not crawfish that looked like a 1lb lobster it was huge. I got the spot light out and all over the bank were thousands upon thousands of these signal crayfish. So we called it a night went to petsmart the day each bought a koy pond fish net and went to Walmart and bought chicken gizzards and string a minnow trap that we cut the entrances open wider and a 4” kiddy pool and 2 fish tank airators. We set out 8 hand lines put out the modified minnow trap and we caught a 20 gallon cooler full and I had to call my girl friend and ask her if she could run by the grocery store and buy the biggest trash can she could and more chicken gizzards. We filled a 20 gallon cooler and a 35 gallon trash can of those signal crayfish. Everytime we pulled in the minnow trap on the other side of the the pond it was so stuffed full they were trying to get in but no room left. We filled up the kiddie pool plugged in the air bubbler and we both knew how to cook crawfish from where we came from I spent the entire emptying the water refill empty refill till the water was clear. They don’t have powder boil in Colorado just liquid boil and old bay packets. But we found a receipe on the internet from Louisiana on how to make your own with a nutribullet or blender we ended up boiling probably around 70lbs of them and then after that and the other numerous ponds we just started making our own traps out of quarter inch chicken wire from Home Depot and would set them out and ordered powdered boil off the internet and we ate crayfish all summer. It’s so much fun hand lineing them.

@@ericsims2078 Crane Creek res in Idaho? He said it's called Roseworth lake. Anyway, he's catching rusty crayfish. Mostly signal crayfish in Idaho. Crane creek is part of the Columbia drainage. Should be signal crayfish there. Looks more like the prairie country. Wyoming, Utah, Montana more likely.

@@ericsims2078 Indeed it does. I neglected to cross reference that very key piece of information. But it does look like prairie country despite being in somewhat of a basin. I believe you are correct about which lake. I found 3 pics of Crane Cr. Res. that look like they were taken at the same location on that lake. So, was I also wrong about those being rusty crays? They're definitely not astacus. They're definitely of the genus orconectes.

Get a heavier pole and line so you don't litter the lake with balls of mono and chicken wire.
