Just a guess but I believe the brass container that had a screw on lid is a match safe because it looks to have a striker on the bottom.

There is a great place to metal detect in Vicksburg right outside of town if you ever get there it is a location where a bridge used to be that they burn down there was a great battle there you will probably have to get permission from the landowner but very good place

Some Federal regiments such as the 3rd Vermont infantry were issued the M1853 .577 cal Enfield muskets. Most Federal troops were issued the standard m1861 58. Cal Springfields . Great finds guys nice job! Always dream of finding Civil War bullets one day. Keep up the good work! Also new sub😁🇺🇸 Love your vids!

I just found a medicine bottle bout 15” deep in my back yard. Embossed on bottom OWENS the o is in a square. I looked it up. Made in 1909-1929

I would love to go Civil War hunting im a full blooded Ojibwe gal from Canada. I went to a civil war battlefield in Richmond Ky. Well l touched a building there on the hill. Long story short.. l ended up getting attacked by a soldier and a slave women. I am very sensitive to spirit activity. Not sure if l would sence stuff if l went hunting for relics. Be safe while hunting.

Both sides used the 1853 3-band Enfield (the Confederates used more but the Federal government bought some to supplement the Springfield rifles that were in the nation's arsenal.

the bullet with the "sprue" actually looks like a Williams cleaner bullet. These were issued to the soldiers to fire out of their rifles....the protrusion on the base held a cloth patch to pull fouling out of the rifle barrel to preserve the accuracy of the weapon.
