The brass tube is a 12 grane black power bandolier. There would be up to 10 to 12 bandolier on a sniper. I am in NW Arkansas

That was amazing find. Interesting how the mud has probably preserved the leather. This hunt you will never forget. Congratulations. My son Chris just told me about your channel. Greetings from Port Colborne , Ontario, Canada.

Just a guess but I believe the brass container that had a screw on lid is a match safe because it looks to have a striker on the bottom.

There is a great place to metal detect in Vicksburg right outside of town if you ever get there it is a location where a bridge used to be that they burn down there was a great battle there you will probably have to get permission from the landowner but very good place

The joy you exert when you find these treasures is so contagious!! May God richly Bless you as you find these artifacts & share them with us. You make the items more personal and gets us thinking about the who,, what, where, why & when they were used. Makes me think about the person who carried them & what their lives were like compared to ours now. Your finds are allowing us to use our imaginations & do our own research Thanks for being such a good teacher!

Long story short.. l ended up getting attacked by a soldier and a slave women. I am very sensitive to spirit activity. Not sure if l would sence stuff if l went hunting for relics. Be safe while hunting.

Both sides used the 1853 3-band Enfield (the Confederates used more but the Federal government bought some to supplement the Springfield rifles that were in the nation's arsenal.

the bullet with the "sprue" actually looks like a Williams cleaner bullet. These were issued to the soldiers to fire out of their rifles....the protrusion on the base held a cloth patch to pull fouling out of the rifle barrel to preserve the accuracy of the weapon.
