I've had two over the last 20 years, and they have been outstanding family companions. The only thing I can't speak to is their hunting utility. I've heard it's very good, especially in dense underbrush, but I've never personally tested it. Bathing should be higher. They rarely need baths, as most dirt falls off of them and what doesn't can be easily brushed out. Barking should be near 10. They can bark, but my first dog barked maybe 5 times his whole life. And it was more of a singular "woof". Our second one barked a bit more, maybe once or twice a year. We have been to a couple of Clumber club parties (one of which was in our back yard) and it was the strangest sight. Over a dozen snow white dogs, meeting, playing, exploring, and running amok, but completely silent.

I've had briards for 30 years. Amazing dogs.My first briard out of the blue started to herd me from the bathroom to my room and then I remember nothing. I had a seizure. I had never had one before. He always alerted me to them from then on. Never been trained to do so but somehow sensed them. My next one would lay across my back and give my mum a grumble under his breath as she would give me vigorous physio to help my breathing. We think he thought she was hitting me. So we taught him to lay by me on the bed, to see I was ok. As well as every morning they would almost pin me to bed and then get close to my face and take several deep breaths smelling my breath. Checking if I smelled "right" One night I was feeling really unwell, with a temperature, so my boy went into my mums room and woke her up. My friends briards alerted them to a fire that started on their front porch, and kept barking at them in their room until they got up. Never underestimate a briard. Smart dogs, that can think for themselves. I love that about them. If they are with you, its because they want to be with you. You dont have to be harsh with them, in fact it will damage your relationship with them. And dont be surprised if your briard is a lap dog, and follows you everywhere. Like into the loo, the shower, just in step with you.

Recently adopted a 2 or 3 year old brianny. Trained as a gun dog, shot by her first owner in the shoulder. Amazing charities gave her a new start here. Any tips? She walks with a limp 2 or 3 year old.

Beautiful breed. We had ours for 17 years. Sadly, my parents lost it when we let it out to pee. 🥹 The dog is high-energy and very loyal, but it does shed a lot.

I found skinny dog as a 1 1/2kg stray. 7 yrs later he is a 28 kg trusted guardian. Local kids come to play with him, & he keeps the house snake & iguana free. All of our neighbours say “Everyone wishes they had their own skinny dog”. Loves his home & never wants to leave, he faithfully waits by the gate until we return. He is the best dog I have ever owned, & the whole family loves him to death

I’m not sure on the “wanderlust” . My collies after being fixed would agonize if they couldn’t see me. A need to explore a few feet beyond my comfort zone, but running off… I don’t know.

I have had 4 of these nutjobs. They are always fun and entertaining. They came from British dog fighting background and the old saying is this: they don't start fights, they finsh fights. Which is why you have made a mistake about their speed. They are fast, but have exceptional quickness with their relexes. That is why they will finish a dog fight with almost any other breed. The Brits eventually outlawed them from that aweful country sport. They are exceptional watchdogs. Great loving companions.

Our Rough Collie was my first pet, my best friend, my confidante, my beautifully handsome companion and although I AM 75 years old, my memories of him are like yesterday and I still miss him so much ! He's been physically gone from my realm since I was 12 years old but his memory lives on in my heart forever. O so Loved my Laddie.

I raised, trained, and hunted Brittanies for about 11 years. Sort of a English Setter lite. I went back to setters. Just more dog with the same temperament. Cover more ground and find more birds. I am older and slower now so I have switched to a Springer ;) Excellent dogs. I make mine keep my checkbook ;) But none of these are pets!!! They are bred to run for 8 hours straight!!!! Can't imagine trying to keep a Brittany hemmed up in an apartment ;)

I have a six month old male Dalmatian and he is GORGEOUS. You cannot be shy and introverted with a Dalmatian at your side. Attention is CONSTANT! People take pictures of him, reach out to pet him, approach my car in a drive thru etc. few people have ever seen one in their life! But here what I can’t take much longer: Disney is destructive⚠️ Everyday $40-100. Worth of damages. He is difficult to walk for any distance because he is STRONG. My back and shoulders often hurt. I hope to make it to a year! I have NEVER owned a more exasperating dog. I can’t turn my back for a minute. I have to take him to work. I can’t take a shower because he will shred a chair, urinate on the bed, or chew the door frame. I need an intervention! Please pray for me, 😅

I've owned and loved 3 Eskies through the years. Each I considered the best dog I'd ever had, including my current Eskie. I was shocked by many of your ratings and feel like you have very little idea of what an Eskie is truly like. You should take this video down and pray that not many people are dumb enough to consider it gospel, or that they are at least smart enough to investigate the Eskie from more reliable sources such as the AKC or WKC.

Grooming difficulty is way overrated in Collies. They don’t shed like the German Shepherd or Retreiver (hairs all over the place) they shed in clumps of underfur which can be pulled out. They don’t need to be brushed every day, once a week is more than sufficient. They have just the right energy level, in the middle. Finally, they are not wanderers! The main negative for me is barkiness, but they (and all dogs) can be trained not to. (I trained my Chihuahua mix not to bark, so if she could be trained, any dog can!)
