Rob, better to NOT use crimps on the XS end of the cables. Bare wire, properly clamped is much better. Bigger contact area, less resistance and less heat.
@@kevgermany ok many thanks for the advice mate
Rob, I've used 12V Planet. My experience was OK as I didn't need support. But a friend who used them wasn't as lucky. Victron kit is the best. But I'm biased.
Victron is the best and 12V Planet have been noting but excellent with me mate!
Looks great mate! Nice choices I just upgraded with basically exactly the same kit, has been awesome so far
Are you planning on adding anything else?
Looking like a great update to your system, my friend! It is difficult to maintain a tidy setup over time when one keeps adding to and improving the electrical system. Mine is freshly done (you've seen it) and therefore built to size and with neat wiring. Once I start adding stuff that I have not thought of as yet, I will be in a pickle as to where to fit what and run additional wiring. So, don't worry. As long as stuff works, everything is good. I've modified my Lynx Power-In to hold fuses. I've just seen a couple of breakers in your setup. Is your wiring sufficiently protected with fuses and other breakers? Hugs to you and Archie! Stay safe! 🚐☁🍀
@@gonefilming2020 thanks mate, hope you’re well?
Great job, The guys at 12Volt Planet came up trumps. Nice one Bro .
Thanks brother ❤❤
Looking good, ive used the guys at 12VoltPlanet for some of my electrical kit, great service. Recently replaced most of my Renogy kit for almost the same kit you now have. Victron was just too expensive when i was first building the van, but have to say the setup was easy and the live and historic data really helps with how i use the system and make changes to my power use. Great work and vans really looking fab now as you make these updates.
How did you attach the disconnect to the lynx distributor . Also is there a height difference with the shunt and the switch compared to the lynx ?
I drilled through the lynx connection points and attached the disconnect mate… and no major height difference at all 👍
Where did you get your copper bars from mate. Or did you manage to connect directly to the positive on the lynx with the rotary disconnect.
@@leelendon1482 I just drilled straight into the lynx mate
Thank you for the shoutout Rob! Your system is looking great
Thank you for your help guys! ❤️👍
Hi Rob What’s the reason for swapping out the two dc chargers ? I got same setup and find it fantastic on charging my fogstar
Yeah the previous set up was good, but over heating was an issue… and the new XS is far more efficient at charging than the old Dc to Dc mate
Cable management… 😂 f@ck it . Mines worse. As long as it works and is not dangerous, don’t waste your time..
It will give me something to do and it’s on my mind daily so need to do it! That’s the army in me 🤷🏼♂️
Looking good Rob
Thank you 👍
Nice job, great modern upgrade👍
Thank you, it was about time my electrics needed an upgrade, hope you're well?
That's some bit of kit I definitely wouldn't be trying to wire that up🤪
Yeah needed a good memory for all that wiring! Hope you're well mate?
Great upgrades Rob! Pleased it's working ok. The GUI Mods makes a big difference :) Hope you're good? All the best, David 👍
Bene doing that today mate as another upgrade... just had to wait for a usb stick! Hope you;re well mate?
You should add the fuses to the power in to convert it to a lynx distributor.
Yeah bene looking into that the past few days, pretty easy to do!
Please let me know what you think about our new electrical upgrades? Don't forget to shop at 12Volt Planet here: www.12voltplanet.co.uk/
Very cool, Rob! Got the "cheap self-build version" for my install. Nothing like a colorful display with techie stuff showing. :-)
Thank you my friend! Hope you’re well?
It's terrible mate if you were a junkie or alky you would have no problem its not nice to say but it's true stick in there mate 🤙🏻🏴
Definitely true mate! Hope you’re well mate?
Rob, it's not just the veterans that the NHS is failing. It's been going on for many many years. My own experience goes back 25 years and was nothing new. Similar issues going further back affected my parents.
Yeah the UK has been in decline for years mate
Did I miss the painting
Nope… play again and you’ll see it 👍
It’s not the NHS failing you it’s the Tory / Labour government that is failing everyone Working class / White / British.
👍
Hey hope you get this sorted and soon, its appalling the way we treat our veterans, take care 🤗x
Hey, how are you? X
Make sure when you fill in the pip form, use your worst day as example… do not say sometimes it isn’t as bad etc otherwise you will be stuffed and will get f*** all x
Thank you, seems to be a common thing with filling in the PIP form, and using those words! Thank you again for the advice and hope you're well x
Keep your chins up Rob👍 Shocking previous comment from that nimby. People like that want to get out and experience real life instead of being keyboard warriors. Or go watch another channel. Yours Aye👌
Thanks mate, it's just one of those tings with social media hey! Hope you're well?
@@PackTheVanAndGo All kit stowed for sea here pal, thank you. Looking like we won’t be at Newbury this year, so catch up soon enough. As the saying goes ‘if you can’t add something positive - pipe down and Shut The kcuF Up’ 👍👌 Yours Aye (and hugs to Archie👍)

Unfortunately it's the same for everyone with an important job.
👍
Sorry to hear your still not getting the full help you need as one of this country's great forces veterans. It is a disgrace. Hope things start to head in the right direction soon. Might see you at the York Van festival. Take care stay safe👍👍
Thanks mate, yeah come see us if u go to Vanlove Fest in York next month!
Are you saying you should get priority treatment because you're veteran? and its just a question before anyone starts
@@thenoworriesnomad it’s what’s stated on their website, if the injury relates to your service then you’re entitled to priority treatment… and the injury I’ve got is and that’s what I’m entitled too…
@@PackTheVanAndGo Oh ok and that’s fair enough, many ppl will have their opinions on why the NHS has problems, I think it gets enough money, it’s just not run very well and needs restructuring and in influx of ppl not paying in doesn’t help either but that’s for another day, anyway I hope u get it sorted soon, oh and TYFYS
@@thenoworriesnomad it’s sad that’s it run like this, when you leave the service your told you’re entitled to priority treatment, it’s part of the government agreement for veterans and part of the NHS… but as soon as you mention it, no one is interested 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ as you said, if I came from somewhere I’d get everything thrown at me for free 😳
@@PackTheVanAndGo Im coming past your way in a couple of months on my way to Scotland so if ur free and about ok..🤙
Sadly what you're experiencing is the result of long-term, deliberate underfunding of the NHS in order to "prove" that it doesn't work then get rid of it and bring in the chargeable American system. NHS staff are not told about giving veterans priority, and these days they barely have the funding to treat cancer as urgent, so if you're walking, talking and not about to die you will be stuck in a queue, veteran or not.
It's a sad place this once great kingdom hey, no longer great and definitely not a United Kingdom!
NHS fails everyone. I work in the NHS. I’m with Benenden health insurance. Quick access to GP and specialists. Shame to pay NI and private cover. Sounds you like a joint mate!
Thank you for all you do within the NHS!
Sorry to hear about your difficulties. The NHS is in a dreadful state. Not everywhere is indifferent to veterens' plight. But your experience is not a solitary one. Just hope you get the treatment you need and deserve. All the best.
Thank you my friend... hope you're well?
Yep. The British State does not give a toss about Veterans!
Agreed mate..
Geez, Rob - will this nightmare ever end? My ♥ goes out to you, my friend, I am just utterly disgusted with how you are being treated by the NHS and that you just are not being taken care of. As I am not fluent in the UK bureaucracy, I can offer little to no advice on how to fight this fight. I also know, that you are apprehensive to accept offered help for your very own reasons. So, I can only send you best wishes for a solution and a speedy recovery. Hugs to both of you and stay safe. 🚐☁🍀
As you know me mate you know how stubborn I am, but also how determined I am... each day is a better place and another step forward... i'll get there mate! Hows you?
Ugh, that all properly sucks. The wait for help is crazy now. And there really should be more support for veterans! One thing I will say about the PIP forms is, don't be all British and "Oh you know, I'm getting by" on them. Think about what you're like on your *worst* days, and fill the form out based on *those* days. Be really clear about how it affects you when it's at its worst. I got help filling out my form as it's good to have the perspective of someone who has seen you on a bad day so they can give an accurate opinion of whether you're downplaying it or if you've been clear enough about how the injury affects you. My Mum looked at my first draft and went "well, you're much worse than that, you can't do xyz!!" So definitely get someone you trust and who can tell you if you're being too stoic, to look it over. And good luck. 💪
Thanks mate, veterans and no veterans is disgusting these days… a friend also said the same thing about PIP and the veterans charity also said the same and that they would help me fill it in and not to be British and that stiff upper lip! Hope you’re well mate?
@PackTheVanAndGo brilliant, glad you can get support with the PIP form. It's a horrible thing. I'm OK ta, recovering from giving myself food poisoning last week. Oops. 🙈
@@beepythevellfire yeah not a good thing to have when a heatwave hits also… hope you recover soon 🙏
@PackTheVanAndGo definitely not the *most* fun I've ever had. 🤣
Unfortunately it’s not just the NHS failing our veterans ☹️. Good luck Rob
@@richardgoodier9644 Totally agree mate… the government is the main guilty party and then the MOD 👍 thanks mate, hope you’re well?
You need a total knee replacement...
But according to the NHS, I am far too young for a total knee replacement!
@@PackTheVanAndGo but if you're bone on bone and in pain that's what you need... I wasn't bone on bone but I kept complaining to consultant..now I have hip problems.. osteoarthritis is in the family genes unfortunately

@@whatsgazupto stay safe mate and see you soon!
I hope things turn out good for you Rob and that you don't have to mess around with the given runaround. Adding more of what i think about the the situation that most of us are now having to deal with, will only get removed by the powers at toob. Glad to see that you're upgrading the essentials for when winter comes around.
HI mate, slowly got some exciting upgrades coming in the next few weeks mate, big changes coming! Hope you're well?
Sorry to hear you are still getting the runaround trying to get effective treatment. In the meantime I would suggest you pay for an assessment by a physio. My wife was in a similar situation andfound the physio was really helpful. £60 for a 45 minute session but in her case worth every penny.
HI mate, yeah its something i have thought about and have looked into also, its just trying to find the right person in the right area. Hope you're well ?
Yeah bone on bone sounds like you need a knee operation.just been to see about my right hip possibly on it’s way out.and I noticed on the form for the physiotherapist form it said did you suffer this injury whilst being in the military, and thought of yourself.an old bloke I talk to whilst walking the dog.has just had his second knee operation, the first one went well but he’s had complications with the second operation and had to have it done again.perhaps someone could donate an e-scooter to you for going out with Archie.goodness knows there’s that many KZread’rs get given them to review best wishes buddy all the best and a whole lot more 👍.✊🙏❤️👌👊😎
HI mate, thanks for the comment and support, I'll keep walling with Archie while he's still alive to walk! I'll def need a new knee later in life, but at 52, im far too young for a knee replacement! Tats just how it goes... hope. you're well mate?
Can’t believe how your whining on I’ve a bad knee and did it around a month before you my X-ray show I have wear on all three plate with arthritis on all side I’m still waiting to see a muscle skeletal and not been seen yet and been told it will be at least another three months .you just have to bit the bullet stop feeling sorry for yourself and get on with life and adapt .its not poor old you is how it is with the NHS just hope it gets better.
Well good for you!! Not once did I say I was feeling sorry for myself, guess that must have been someone else's video you moaned at! Good luck with your injury and getting the treatment you need!
That’s how you come across
@Sbelly1000, you my friend are a prime idiot. (Rob I would just block the fool) Sorry you’re going through all this shite, unfortunately the health system and NHS in the UK is so flawed and backwards nowadays. Takes an age to get anything done or an appointment made. It’s shocking that someone like yourself who has done years of military service for this country doesn’t get seen or doesn’t get priority. Hope the knees on the mend mate and things speed up, morons like the bloke that commented I will never understand!
In your opinion eh 🤔
It seems being an Army veteran and trying to get treatment as a priority sucks these days, seems no one in the NHS cares about veterans and the fact they are allowed priority treatment for an injury... The drama continues!
Hope it all works out for you pal and things get a bit better at least. There is so much more to what is available. You mention physio, there is a charity for Osteopath or chiropractor free treatment. They have an excellent understanding around physio stuff as well. Also, there is private funding available to fill the gaps in physio whilst you wait for the NHS. So if you want to know more or unsure of something, send us a message because there is loads available.
What a load if bollix and hassle fir no reason forget about road handling after this nonsense
What a great and well thought out comment! Comment of the year, congrats!
Hi mate , my brother was also in the military for as many years and is suffering quite badly as a result, he is also treated in a similar way to you, this country is an absolute disgrace especially to or veteran 😡absolutely angers me ,if you was a yank you'd be treated as royalty and rightly so !
