I love Scotland, part of me is Scottish, well the weekend my parents had up here 😂 but I’ll definitely be back again! I love the locals and the history… and will always be respectful and support the local community ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I am so sorry you had that experience. The majority of us Scots do not have a problem with van life. I reckon that we would all want to live that life! I know I do, can't wait to retire and get on the road! We are good people, don't let it put you off! Xx

Hi, and thank you for the kind words, 99.9% of the people I meet on my travels have nothing but been friendly and supportive, its a reason I come to Scotland, just a shame a few people on New Years tried to spoil it! I think people are just sick of the massive increase in the mess. Litter, faeces, trees cut down, fires, damage to fences and the ground. Caught one guy emptying his chemical toilet over the fence once. Hardly surprising people are fed up.

Those locals giving van lifers grief are probably the same ones who moaned during lockdown about how they were suffering due to no tourists. Dont let them put you off guys . Come back anytine 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Enjoyed your video. Brings back loads of memories. Mr Browns Invercoe campsite at Glance for 20 years in winter with our county scout group, camping , and climbing the hills. Done all those mountains. Those inconsiderate locals really don't understand that without tourism then those communities would disappear. Can't camp in a tent now at Invercoe , motorhomes, caravans and lodges with increased prices. Glencoe Mountain Resort lets campers/vans park on their huge carpark. Thanks for all the memories.

I had my first experience in 3 years of local numpties in a massive village carpark in galloway. I was the only vehicle in the carpark .. they didn't bother me but the thought of them doing something to the van made me just move on ... i dont know what goes through people's minds ... ( at the time i was hoping it could of been a 5.56) 🤣😂

The problem is that van life traffic has increased so much with particular spots getting very busy. The locals can sometimes be annoyed by carparks previously easy to park in being full of vans. Needs more places like the Cairngorm Mountain park up where the locals are not effected, its easy enough to do. New years is always busy, we used to park up our Moho at Grantown for New Years, but its so busy with vans its just not the same as it was. We live North East Scotland and just stay away from the Cairngorms and West coast when its busy. Hopefully either less vans will come up here, or the councils will make proper provisions for the tourists.

Tina Turner had the amazing foresight to make song called Simply the best, Dam sure she was singing about this video bro. Absolutely EPIC, Thanks for inviting me up and to spend time with you both again this year. May long it continue. ❤❤

Yeah stayed in the exact same spot many a time over the years and never had a single bit of bother… apart from this event..

The rules for vans are simple, if you dont have a toilet, you need to be in a campsite, or designated parking areas that have toilets. If you have a toilet common sense applies. You have to remember that during the pandemic, the Highlands were trashed with a van invasion that 'locals' had to clean up. Thanks for the video, always makes me laugh seeing people from England getting excited about snow 👍

@@laundonsloft4629 wise up 😂 did I say anything bad about the camper-vans? Don’t be too quick to judge, we get a lot of tourists from England and overseas who do the economy a lot of good. The pandemic brought about a headache, and if you didn’t see the chaos then your eyes must be closed? So there are regulations in place since that happened, is that right? And no, England doesn’t get more snow than us, just happens that we are further north with more high ground and around 5-10 deg cooler depending where you are.

Scotland is sparsely populated and is generally very friendly but you will encounter nasty humans anywhere, Scotland is no different! I’m sure there are some obnoxious people where everyone lives.

It is such a shame, I am hearing so much about the Scottish not being welcoming. I am from Australia and we have a van here. It was a bucket list to visit Scotland and hire a van to tour around but the more I hear about these incidents the less confident feel about it. Hope that is the last time you encounter it.

First time watching,and last, wind noise made it unwatchable for me,I find it strange recently that every single van/motorhome vlogger has been attacked in Scotland,coincidence or click bait,you decide.

The dislike and abuse seems to have become the norm since the covid and Lockdown nonsense. If you saw Ash and Co fleeing Scotland during the Lockdown period, then that's the time it all started. It worked out well for them though, as they found Amboleast and there they decided on their new off grid lives abroad. Don't let the encounter put you off, as there's more remote places that you can plan for the next visit. AD blue? Oh the problems and the hassle we have with the work vans and garage visits to reset the system.

Unfortunately, avoid the unfriendly tourist areas of the west coast, stick to the friendly east coast of Scotland. That is what i have found, when staying in my van in Scotland. i prefer the east and central highlands, the scenery is just as great. Eastward bound again, very soon.

Curious to learn from your adblue issues. So far I haven’t had any issues but I guess it’s ahead of me. O’Rileys Autos on here seem to have it well sorted. Wax the Agro in Glencoe Adults or kids lost for nothing better to do. Either way not very respectful

It’s the injector mate for the adblue… they can get blocked and cause issues… so got a guy coming out a week Monday to remap and remove the adblue altogether… so won’t have to keep buying gallons of pig piss every again 😂 Just jealous locals that’s all they are 🤷🏼‍♂️😂 hope you’re well mate?

Modern diesels have been having to play catch up in the last couple of years and the tech hasn't had long enough to be figured out in real world driving yet because of ever moving goal posts. Do the adblue delete, its the only way to be sure ;)

Its not just Van lifers im sorry to say i lived there from age 13 to my seventies and its become endemic this hatred. There may be reasons for it the SNP for a start, I learned to let it in one ear and out the other. They do have a hatred of the English which is hatred of Londoners which implies England. Get them on their own and they are like anybody else. But football rugby or any other sport and they are various haters. I now live in another country and wish i had done it years ago among people who are more civilised.
