workmates do that but not for me. lid open so it cools down quicker. also use other end of spoon to make hole down thru the middle of noodles so hot water gets to the bottom and always stop short of the fill mark so its a thicker sauce. the etiquettes of pot noodle prepping!!!!!!!!!!!

Been many years since I went camping . Was a biker, so everything had to go on my bike. I had a bit of a fascination with tents. As a girly the two person tents (I've had a few) were never big enough for me and bike kit. Settled on a nice 4 man with back and front storage area. Loads of room. Loved it. I bought a tunnel tent merely because my disabled son loved the "cat flap" - turned the two bedrooms into one big bedroom. Haven't camped for years as now disabled but still have four tents here! Madness. 😄

I am subscribed to many different outdoor bloggers, but this comes across as an authentic. down to earth lovable chap. No fancy super expensive gear to review, just a guy doing what he loves most and sharing his joy. My favourite firelighter is a small jar of petroleum saturated sawdust. It doesn't spill and half a teaspoon of the stuff will ignite with the first spark of the ferro rod. My second favourite is two inch wide cardboard strips rolled in a tight spiral and dipped in melted candle wax. When the roll solidifies you unravel and tear a small strip and light it with a match of lighter. It will give you ample time to add small twigs.

Hey Dan! I went on eBay & got the same cheap woodstove after watching the video where you showed a brand new one & the alterations you'd made to yours. Like you as soon as I got it I added more mesh to the bottom to stop the bigger embers falling through. It's even great to use in the garden when there's afew friends round. I've done the usual BBQ style cooking on it plus using a pan I've made curries, chilli, bolegnese & even a pot of stew. Then we all sit round the fire eating the food as it gets dark, best £12 I ever spent!

Sometimes an issue like ineffective gear or bad fire starter works out for the best. I loved how you rolled with it and showed everyone how to use bit of sap from trees to start your fire. Of course, having the right trees about is necessary, but it was a fine adaption! Your budget series appeals to new campers and pulls in fresh subscribers. I especially liked the reveal of stuff you found second hand on facebook and such. Those finds are really budget friendly most of the time. People just want to clear out their closets and garage and nearly give away good gear. I also like your meal tests and reviews, but that is because I use a few of them when I do multi day wild camping. Its particularly interesting to me because we don't have some of those meals in the states and I'm curious about the differences. Cheers!

Wow, what a crazy night for you and Scott. After the cops told you what was going on, were you worried that the "bad guys" might discover your campsite and harm you? What about your car - were you concerned that they might break into it? As a single female that goes wild camping, that event would have terrified me. But, on a lighter note, I really enjoy your videos and your down to earth honesty. You seem relaxed in front of the camera. Love me some Pot Noodles, BTW, but we do not have curry ones where I live, only Korean BBQ, teriyaki, or beef or chicken flavors. Congrats on closing in on 50K subs!!!!

I'm really happy for you and others who are getting more views and stuff, some people worry that they're "selling out", and as a fan I want you all to know that we don't feel that way. People deserve, if nothing else, to get recognition and compensation for following their passions and using their talents, that used to be how the world turned before they tried to convince us all that the only way to make money is to sit in a cubicle with a man in a suit screaming at you for 8 hours a day. You deserve to potentially make a living doing something you love, in my book that's the epitome of success even if you're not making a lot, being paid to do what you want to do is the coolest thing. Ever since I was a child that was a dream of mine, to make money doing art or following passions, having a cooking show or teaching people how I do things. Not sitting at a desk working for someone else's dreams. I wish you all the best and I hope you get what you deserve for the efforts you make to share your passions with the world. And I know what you mean about it being a little nerve wracking. I got 1.5 k views on a stupid short about a huge cantaloupe I grew that I was proud of, and it made me a little nervous, but I try to push that aside and remember that the viewers don't think that much on it, they just watch it and like it or roll their eyes and move on, it won't hurt me unless I let it get to me. And also I think about how maybe a lot of those views were positive, maybe someone likes cantaloupes and didn't know how big they can get and now they'll grow their own cantaloupes too, and if one person had that experience, I don't care if all the others hate it. I get nervous about my horrible quality making videos on my phone, but I'm just gonna ignore anyone who complains, they usually don't understand how much work goes into it, or that I already know exactly what my mistakes were but there's nothing I can actually do because of not having the equipment or time and that it's a process. I just made my first stealth camp video and I whispered the entire time, even at home (mostly I didn't want a lecture from family about stealth camping, they don't seem totally on board yet) and it's a little embarrassing but hey, I made the video, it's done, I'm not gonna give it anymore negative thought.

Please keep up the excellent work! Ther'es so much camping advice that costs silly money, budget advice is VERY welcome. You'll be OK regarding snakes in the UK. Adders are about as much as we get and they're not 'aggressive' (unless really provoked). They like to hide under something warm - corrugated iron etc...

Hi Dan, another of your excellent chatty videos. You asked the question. Well I find that Naked Noodle are the best of the instant, just add hot water and stir, noodle pots, AND they are made in Yorkshire! They have a variety of interesting flavours. About 75p for the standard size or £1 for the large size so give one a try. They are good.

Good video. I’ve been enjoying your content recently and really considering going wild camping myself, something I wasn’t interested in earlier. I’m not saying that you’ve persuaded me but you’ve definitely influenced me 😆 Anyway, just as a bit of reassurance- by far the most times when the police helicopter is deployed it’s because they’re looking for a person who’s been reported missing and there is concern for their safety. Especially in remote or wooded areas, it’s much quicker than searching on foot. Nothing for the avid outdoorsman to worry about

I'm with you on your choice of Pot Noodle Dan, Spicy Curry or Bombay Bad Boy for me as well. Simple, quick, cheap (ish) and bloody tasty. Great moral booster on a cold night, even just as as a late night snack. I have a couple of the small cheap Lixada wood burning stoves from Ali Express, I don't actually use them for burning wood but as a wind break for my Trangia. Gas stoves are obviously miles more convienient, and cleaner but i love the outdoor feel of a flame, even from an alcohol stove. Anyway, another great Video Dan, keep em coming👍

This happened to me and my gf when we went bivvying. Police copter circling above, flashing lights. I couldn't sleep! A bit nerve-wracking. Police didn't come to see us though. We assumed they were chasing someone and using their heat detecting gear, so we were expecting them to find us and see what we were up to. Hope you enjoyed your Pot Noodle!
