AlternateHistoryHub

An entire channel dedicated to the 'What If?". Using knowledge of geography, population and other historical facts I predict what could have happened had things gone differently in history.

Learn about how the world would be different if, the Axis won World War II, if America lost the Revolution, or if Reagan was never president. I do pop culture videos which explored the worlds of Fallout and the Purge. Learn controversial topics such as if Christianity never existed and many other subjects.

Cool thought video, I know it's off track, but it got me to wondering. What Franz Ferdinand wasn't assassinated? What would have been the next onset to start the war?

It didn't help that the skin coating was basically Thermite... Also black powder muzzleloaders are not Firearms. Firearm is a legal term, muzzleloaders are not included. So calling them such is inaccurate. Muskets, rifled muskets, or guns is more accurate. Sorry pedantic Autism kicked in.

A typical documentary from the USA: let's now imagine an alternative reality, now we are in another reality, imagine that this is possible, so we have assumed a reality in which this is possible, we have assumed this and now let's see what such a reality could look like, just let's assume for a second This. How much can you chew?

A bit of wonkiness with a nearby scenario: What if there were a couple of hills/mountains in the 'right' places, and thus the upper three lakes drain into the Mississippi instead. And "just" fill in Lakes Niagara and Ontario with sediment from the icesheet. There'd still be a St. Lawrence river, but far smaller. And the Mississippi grows even mightier.

Maybe.... It's not only about if Putin is right or wrong. Maybe the dominant Western powers knew that Putin would be "wrong" and instead of trying to defuse the conflict they opted to escalate it. Funding protests, meddling in politics, doing their usual covert intel shtick. Even openly saying that they want to "take Ukraine away from Putin, lol". - Gidian Rose on Colbert 2014. USA war machine doesn't care for welfare or freedom of people in Eastern Europe, Middle East, Latin America, Africa, etc. "Team America" take their own people's money intended for roads, schools, borders, etc.. then use the funds to build bases and drop bombs overseas. After which they bail and leave it like a clogged toilet. It's like their thing. They're known for it. Maybe they don't care for Ukraine freedom and just want to flog off their military gear and wreck Eastern Europe. Maybe. Maybe push for ceasefire and negotiations instead of armament so that PEOPLE STOP GETTING KILLED. Putin is a tyrant but he is not on a mission to exterminate all Ukrainians like Hitler. Maybe it doesn't need to be a fight to the bitter end and we can stop this by negotiating and signing papers!

While I don't think Mu has ever existed, the assumptions of this video, like Spanish and Portuguese colonizations and such, don't sync with the theory of Mu because of the timeline. The idwa of existence of Mu might be a BS, but this video is even more BS than that.

Very ingenuous, around a hundred years from the conquest of Mexico, the British Empire started what would become the Conquest of India. The Indian Sub Continent had more population than both Europe and the whole of America combined, had gunpowder weapons and the best steel of the time, plus the Indians were immune to the diseases of the Europeans. In other words, without Spain the British would have genocided the heck out of the Mesoamerican Civilizations (look at what happened to the natives in the north), imported a lot of Black people to replace the unruly native americans who were dying anyways, so today Mexico would be another American South lots of African descendants and British descendants. Not a Single Mexican (Mix European-Native peoples) would exist.

Columbus KNEW how big the Earth was.-- He was a top navigator AND a map maker. In his own words, he described Earth as a sphere. He was familiar with LATITUDE and how many miles were in a degree of latitude. Knowing the Earth was a sphere and what longitude degrees were, it is a rather simple calculation to figure a longitudinal degree was for a given latitude. A calculation he knew well. He DID NOT think the Earth was smaller. Indeed, as a result of his earlier North Atlantic voyages to Scandinavia and Greenland and saw some evidence for land to the immediate West (Plants drifting in the sea and even a mummified body found in a dugout canoe) and his access to obscure maps, Odds are he KNEW there were undiscovered lands to the west that were within RANGE of the ships of his day. But to "sell" his scheme to a rich and powerful person, to finance a discovery voyage, he had to tell his prospect that this land to the West was ASIA and its wealthy countries. And being only 3000 miles or so away. he gambled that they were not educated enough to figure the longitude degrees themselves. This explains why his deal to be made "Governor" of all lands he would find was made to Ferdinand and Isabella. Even the king of Spain could not really make him governor of an established country like India, China or Japan. They had their own Governors and would not take such an appointment by a foreign king seriously. Columbus KNEW there was UNDISCOVERED land out West and he wanted that office along with his share of the wealth to be had there. He likely knew Asia was still farther away, but had to convince a backer to finance his trip, by "fudging" a bit.

Not a chance in hell the Soviets would commit suicide over somewhere as remote as Cuba. The entire reason they were in Cuba in the first place was because they knew the US could incinerate them and they basically had no way to retaliate. Tactical nukes in Cuba don’t change the balance of this equation at all. The Soviets either impotently protest as they watch Cuba get steamrolled, or the USSR gives the US a bloody nose shortly before they cease to exist.
