Elvis grew up in the ghetto in tupelo, Mississippi in black communities. He and his family attended black churches..His family lived with black familes when they had no where to go..At one point they were living in a tool shed..His father did two years in prison cause he got caught stealing to feed his family..He was not racist at all..That notion came from an article written in a white publication that wanted to discredit him because they said he played black music and that would create race mixing..He was threatened with jail and prison many times for playing his music..

I’m 64, this song is actually about when they put a curfew on the Sunset Strip. The lounges and clubs had to close at 11:00. The young people, protested and officers showed up. It was a huge deal to the upcoming artist who played at The Whiskey and other clubs on the strip.

I forgot that this song has the " I buried Paul" quietly spoken right at the end. Part of the big conspiracy theory that Paul was dead. Created quite a buzz and sold many albums as well.
