Is the car banker Drysdale used for a limo on the Beverly Hillbillies?
1917 White, because sewing machines run as smooth as silk. ☀️ I like the old touring cars better, there was a certain grace and beauty around the gas and brass era... 🌅
For WYR, I’ll take the 1917 Peerless, and the Stanley Steamer…I have always found those cars intriguing ever since seeing one on Jay Leon’s channel. For some reason, the color of this car works well for it. It’s always interesting seeing a car before windshield wipers, door handles, and windows. But I wonder what that back trunk was, I expected a rumble/mother-in-law seat.
It's not really a CVT transmission. No belt. More accurately it's a eCVT or transaxle transmission. kzread.info/dash/bejne/jKF80rWyhNbMnZM.html
Looks too much like a Lincoln which I don't care for. I loved my '63 LeBaron. Wish I really had it back. Wrong about the taillights being on the fenders of the '63. Those were more akin to marker lights. The taillights/brake lights were between the trunk lid and the bumper. Where is the tire silhouette bulge in the trunk lid of the '63? Is that actually a LeBaron or a lesser model( I think the lesser). Apparemntly you have never had a real '63 Imperial LeBaron to see with your own eyes. I used to own one. I had all the electrics and stuff. Highly optioned. It weighed 5400 lbs curb weight( yes I had it weighed). My mileage was 15mpg in town. 413 dual inline 4 bbls and it ran sweet. It is my preferred model and always will be. Mine had a gold color exterior with a gold brocade cloth interior.
Yep l was right the first time you are
The carpet is called cut and crush pile , not shag
Peerless Mercer
Not the car that you featured, but the Stutz Bearcat and the Mercer Raceabout looked very similar. They were the sports cars of their day. Stutz drivers would say: 'There's nothing worser than a Mercer'. And the Mercer drivers would say: 'Ya gotta be nuts to drive a Stutz". Great presentation, Jay. WYR: any of them, but mostly the Stanley, just to be weird.

"You have to be Nuts To drive a Stutz" and "the Mercer is worser" If I had big money, I would drive...Both!
They were very expensive in the day
I LOVE THIS CAR
The dash on this car is over the top. Last days before Elwood Engel got his pen out and began re-designing things. I think the '65 Imperial has a more refined interior with the 100 year old Claro walnut dash and trim. The four bucket seats were definitely the pre-curser to the '66 Charger with it's four bucket seats with the back buckets folding down to add cargo space. This is an exceptional car.
"LET'S GO" - The Ventures? The 1911 Mercer Raceabout was possibly the first sports car on Earth. Woodrow Wilson gave us income tax, the Federal Reserve Bank system, racially segregated Federal employees, World War I, and indirectly, the worldwide flu pandemic.
D'yer Mak'er, Led Zeppelin?
I’m impressed you got it =) there was a clue in the video
@@What.its.like. Thank you and I sure missed the clue. Means I'll have to pay more attention next time.
Lead ballon
A very cool car of the day! Thank you for featuring it. And I'd take it over the others, of course.
🎵 ah ...no .....NO ......you haven't been away too long
Gorgeous and real high performance car - Back in the 60s when my friends wanted muscle cars, this was the top of my wish list. Although Buick captured the "Banker's Hot Rod" nickname in the early fifties with its Skylark and Century models, the Chrysler letter series 300s were the best combination of performance and style. Great video and styling analysis, Jay. Andy
Thanks again Jay. A fun way to learn about old and/or obscure automobiles. I love you too Jay.
Now that's a rare bird, Jay! I believe this car was the Runabout model - the Raceabout was the open two-seater with basically no doors and no body. Well done! Andy
😎🔥🥂
Hey, I have a bald pate, are they still a going concern?
I see what ya did there .....
It looks as if the rims and spokes are still wooden? I can't recall when safety glass was first introduced as a common thing, but these old jalopies would break into shards in a crash, YOW. 1. Pullman, for the added space. 2. White, for the same reason.
WYR: All of them. NTT: Space Marine Corp by DragonForce. Runabout: Normal driving. Raceabout: Race your friends.
Great choices not that song or band there is a clue as to what band it is in the video
@@What.its.like. I must've missed that. The drums clued me in to my guess.
Hey, just a by the by Jay; do a search on the 'Alvis,' it is a very interesting defunct car company, which was resurrected due to demand. You can buy either an old refurbished vehicle from the 30s to the late 60s. They can also build you a reproduction from OEM, from new old stock. With upgraded brakes and electronic instruments and other stuff. The Brits are so odd about their great cars. Road tests of their 1936 model 2 seater are impressive.
The first car you show looks like a Stutz.
They look similar especially in the early years
There was the Stutz Bearcat.
Question #2 #1,
The first image you show, of the suffragettes, is actually where our western civilisation went wrong and has been failing us ever since. Women have been significantly more equal than men for decades now, and that continues.
I don’t know if you’ve ever been to the Greenfield Village but it’s a car show that you should definitely go to. They have those protesters and I wish I could’ve recorded this, but there was a guy that was yelling back at them and it was great they were back and forth it was so funny
All the choices were great There is no bad choice.
Definitely made it harder. That’s for sure. These weren’t the original choices. The last section was going to be Packard and Pierce arrow
thats a beauty Jay, I'll take it every day 👍
I totally agree.
1917 PEERLESS TOURING MODEL
Jay, I know it has _NOTHING_ to do with you, but YT changed the layout of the pages, and I'm not fond of it. I _ENJOY_ reading the comments on most vids I watch. I also enjoy the recommendations, but to me, the comments should be "center stage." It seems the new layout is all about the recommendations, and the comment section is an "afterthought" in the narrow column (esp. on my laptop). My 2¢.
I agree if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I don’t understand why they keep making all these changes. I think it’s to compete with other platforms… There’s a lot of people that don’t like comments I could give you some insider information. If KZread considers a comment offensive it goes into a different category that may or may not be seen by the creator, which I totally don’t agree with anybody to see whatever they want on here, fun fact creators can silence anybody that they wish for any reason they want I don’t do that, but I have been silenced on a few channels A viewer of this channel reached out to me, and said that I should reach out to Zach from shooting cars to see if we could do a possible collaboration, and he’s never gotten back to me, but I commented on a couple of his videos in my comments were gone … so I guess he isn’t a fan but I tried I try to be as transparent as possible, and I’m willing to work with whoever because you never know that nobody might be huge tomorrow..
22 TAXABLE HP 75 PEAK HP.
Awesome thank you so much for that information
6:44 Does it seem as if the Mercer right front wheel is pointing relatively straight ahead, and the Mercer left front wheel is turning to the left (as driven) ?
The wide angle camera lens does that.
MARMON THOMAS NAPIER CHALMERS AND MERCER WERE TOP TIER RACING CARS OF THE TEENS
Sus programas de visitas a museos son de absoluta exelencia, primeros planos de detalles, etc. A mi parecer ,los coches de entre guerras eran los mas lindos.🎥👌🌷
BEAUTIFUL CAR!!!! , THE 1917 MERCER IS MY CHOICE.
Sweet choice =)
1963 Studebaker Avanti for me. Cuz I've always wanted one....
Awesome choice there will be one featured this year
Keep up the good work, Jay. You're doing well with your channel.
Thank you it means a lot
2:44 _"Mercer was moderately successful, not unlike this channel ..."_ BOOM !
Much like this channel lol =) I said that as a joke I was thinking the other day I’ve never had a video go viral but I don’t want one either and here is why I like the rate this is growing slow and steady and has a great community aspect ( that I never want to lose ) in a lot of ways viral video seem to be like a kiss of death because after that channel either does really well or it dies another piece of information I don’t go after the algorithm…
@@What.its.like. Rooster Mc "J" " I said that as a joke son ....SON ?"
Pullman Mercer
Sweet choices =)
These cars actually were built like tanks. New Yorkers aren't allowed in demolition derbies because the front end is built so solidly. Get yours today.
What a beautiful but almost unknown car
The unknown cars are king on this channel =)
@@What.its.like. you need to find an international scout . They're a really interesting pickup truck ..or a BMW isetta France made some incredibly unusual cars. The 2 engine Citroen ..ever see one? It's got a second engine
I have a friend with a couple Citroen definitely going to cover that I know where there’s a BMW Isetta… the foreign cars don’t do that well plus a lot of that information is really hard to find for some reason so I like doing foreign cars but I just kind of pepper them in..
Love watching great video i have a question i bet you have answered before, 1964 had a buddy that had a new 383 dodg 4 speed ,question , at any speed 45 mph and under power steering was very sensitive to the feel after that i can remember the sensitive gradually deleting itself as speeds increased. i can tell you i felt like this was out standing Feacher D you what it was called THANKS
