Dance of Death is a great album, except for that horrendous CGI artwork!! Anyone who even dabbled with 3D Modelling back then will recognize these aweful 3D models, and the whole thing (the artwork) looks like it was put together in five minutes. Now that is a sad thing considering that back in the day I would actually buy the Maiden albums and posters for the artwork alone!! Whoever would want that album cover in poster size on the wall needs a lobotomy. Is that a wolf or what the fuck is it? What is going on with the lady on the right and her neck?! Geez!! Thankfully there are some great songs, except for again those slow plodding ones that just go on and on yet only have one verse and a chorus.
@vovindequasahiКүн бұрын
I can't stand the Blaze albums, and some of the latest Maiden albums. The X Factor has a couple of great returns to form but with Blaze on vocals, and those sound great, but then the songs just plod on and on and get really dull and too long. Me though I'm coming from a place where I adore the punky, sharp-as-a-knife original Di'Anno Maiden sound most. I love when they take some effort to mix some real energy into their songs, rather than just plodding on aimlessly for like two hours per song. That being said I don't mind Progressive quite the opposite... Just if you are going to be Progressive, then BE PROGRESSIVE! Don't be like a cat sniffing around the hot plate of food forever and ever and never get to the good stuff!
@mrboulder9714Күн бұрын

I also remember the Prodigy as a very popular band wit their first album they have a very unique sound. I still need to listen to the new Pearl Jam album, the last ome wan't good at all, imo.... 2024's boxset of the year without a question and the new Forbidden's remix is also the highlight, my only complain is that i wished the vinyl would be and exact replica of the OG.... cheers and be well

Slayer - Divine intervention , kerry king, Delamitri , just think after it cost you less money to get on cd and cassette than vinyl you can take those albums out for a walk? never heard of Massive wagons , nice Billy Joel , nice prodigy , intersting Entombed, nice Black Sabbath, how are you just getting around to getting that Billy Joel album? why not pick it up in 1986 what happened? what happened to the grammys no more Metal award the artist picks it up early in the evening and now no dance category!!!!!! what do you think about these albums on cassette kiss their 70's Ac/dc - highway to he l l Ac/dc- For those about to rock Def Leppard the first 4 albums? early Iron Maiden I would think it's worth having some albums on multiple formats? I certainly don't mind missing out on Black Sabbath albums starting in 1989 when I have 5 star albums like Blizzard , Diary , Tribute and No Rest for the wicked plus Dio Holy Diver , Last in line. Trust me i'm not losing sleep not owning any Sabbath from 1989 till the end?

I always liked the way sealed cassettes smelled, once opened. Reminded me as a kid of --- new music! I remember everyone always borrowing that GnR cassette from me too lol. We bought tickets to see Aerosmith bouncing back with Permanent Vacation. Ticket sales were a bit slow, until they announced GnR as the opener. Then tickets just disappeared. Luckily, we already had ours. Aerosmith was good, but GnR was a bit scary. You could tell they were a hungry young band, ready for bigger and better things. Great memories...

The Sabbath box is fantastic, keep meaning to do a comparison but the remasters & remix are so good. (would have prefered the inner sleeves repros rather than the useless tour program). If you want the 3 bonus tracks you will have to get the CD box..... The Prodigy, one of the greatest live bands i have EVER seen. mindblowing stuff, you really need to catch them live if you can, even without Keith. i've just been getting a few pre-orders in. Had to cut right back, vinyl is waaaaay too expensive now for me unless i love the band, Pre-ordered In Extremo's new album, Tankard's new 3 LP box set reissue & Heilung's latest opus which is due out in August. Great additions to your collection me ode. take care
@mrboulder97142 күн бұрын

Unfortunately Black Sabbath LP version didn't have the 3 bonus tracks . Cd version which i got has these. Sad that they couldn't put those on 12" single or 7" single. Other difference LP version you get a lyric sheet cd doesn't just the covers. Obviously poster and programme smaller. Cheers

Nice to see Celtic Frost Morbid Tales - I have a reissue of this one, and it is still on Discogs with a median of £60. I also have To Mega Therion and The Emperor's return on vinyl which are worth around £80 each. My most valuable vinyl album is a grey marbled press of Venom's Black Metal which cost me £3.99 in 1987 and is now worth £149. Some of these 80s albums go for silly money now.

The Earache packaging is very bare bones but gets the job done. Loving Massive Wagons, would be good to see them shown more in the VC. Cheers mate
Looking forward to check out that new pearl yam album . Haven’t heard anything from those guys in a long time
The new Pearl Jam is their best in a long time. Cheers for watching fella
Hi James!!! another cool update as always and seeing three formats too..... Nice to see now you have GnR debut on three formats!!! I remember the name Delamitri from back in the day, but can't recall what song they had thou..... I also remember the Prodigy as a very popular band wit their first album they have a very unique sound. I still need to listen to the new Pearl Jam album, the last ome wan't good at all, imo.... 2024's boxset of the year without a question and the new Forbidden's remix is also the highlight, my only complain is that i wished the vinyl would be and exact replica of the OG.... cheers and be well
The Sabbath box set is amazing Cristian, they've done a great job on it. The new mix makes Forbidden sound so much better than the original. The new Pearl Jam is definitely better than the previous album. Cheers mate
Never have seen Guns N Roses live. it would have been great to have seen them in their heyday. Cheers for watching fella
I've never been the biggestTony Martin fan, but I've been reconsidering the era lately. I purchased the CD box set and have been listening to the disks several times a week. Forbidden is so much better than it used to be!The Headless Cross remaster is another standout. I'd enjoy seeing a tour with Iommi and Martin.
The Tony Martin era is definitely underrated and deserves more recognition I think. Cheers for watching fella 👍
That cassette of appetite brings back memories I had the same one years ago. Probably got chewed by the cassette player as many did back then. Nothing ever happens from delametri is a great song, think they had a song called letter from America, aswell.
That cassette is in mint condition. A flawless album from start to finish. Cheers
Oh,man, I have been a metalhead for over 45 years but I REALLY enjoy the early PRODIGY period!!
Yeah those first 2 Prodigy records are outstanding. Cheers for watching fella 👍
Amazing update James! Very cool you got the new Kerry King album on cassette and CD. As well as the new Pearl Jam. Super cool to see Slayer's Divine Intervention on cassette. Nice to see Fear Factory's Demanufacture on vinyl as well.
Cheers Tony. New Kerry King is really good, I'm glad I grabbed it. New Pearl Jam is definitely one of the albums of the year so far. Love Divine Intervention, and that tape was a nice find. Cheers for watching mate
Great additions to your collection me ode. take care
Agreed on the inner sleeves, I would have preferred them too. I've never seen The Pridigy live, but I would like to. Yeah I've not bought as many records this year as the prices are insane. Cheers as always Neil 👍
Cheers
Yeah it would.have been nice to have those bonus tracks on a single in the box set. Other than that, the box set is excellent. Cheers for watching fella 👍
@mrboulder9714 Tbh Think Tony Martin in various interviews has said he was just happy to see it come out etc usual band politics with Sabbath (not Iommi) but at least we got it 💯💯💯🤘🤘🤘
Seeing these album covers is actually really interesting, especially the ones from the 70s and 80s. They must represent something culturally relevant.🤔
Priest do have some great album artworks in their back catalogue. Cheers
For all my attempts, I simply cannot get into Death; so number 1 for me would be Legion. I think Glen Benton's vocals became better later on, but I agree that it is a punishing album, for sure.
You can't get into Death? You might be the first person I've ever heard say that. Yeah, Legion is absolutely punishing. One of my favourite Death Metal albums. Thanks for watching and commenting fella. Cheers
@@mrboulder9714 Sorry, it might be the vocals.💁♂
@henriklundporsgaard4393 It's all good fella. Would be a dull world if we all liked the same thing
@@mrboulder9714 Completely agree.
Very cool my friend I’m working on my on collection as well
Cheers. Hope you're collection is coming along well
I always thought My Dying Bride's "Turn Loose the Swans" had a pretty cool title. Still ponder the meaning to this day...
That is a great title. The Angel and The Dark River is another great My Dying Bride title. Cheers
I really like the new Deicide as well, glad that they're in good shape.
Yeah the new Deicide album is a banger. Cheers fella
Saxophone can work with a lot different styles, like for instance A.M.S.G (black metal) and Rivers of Nihil (death metal).
It definitely has its place in some music
@@mrboulder9714 It is an interesting touch, spices things up.
Actually, I love Gers' era. I gonna put it in that way. Starting from No Payer For The Dying, which is my second favorite Maiden, to Fear OThe Dark, my favorite. X Factor is a great album. 2A.M. is my favorite on this album. The solo is total Maiden. In fact, I just realize that I love Gers' playing and vibe which is clear on Ghost Of The Navigator and FOTD.
Yeah Gers is someone who gets a loy for of unnecessary flak I think. Cheers for watching
Good to hear your thoughts on some new releases James. Yeah the Mandrake Project is the most interesting listen out of those three. I can't say Priest and Saxon's new albums are better than the previous albums they release but they're probably on par. My space was great for discovering bands back in the day. So far so good for new releases. Enjoy the new music.
That latest Dickinson album is superb. The new Saxon and Priest Albums are excellent despite the clichéd lyrics and song titles. Cheers Grant
4 quid in 87 and now fetches 150 quid! Amazing stuff. Cheers for watching and commenting

A fun watch. Opeth's Blackwater Park is sooo good, it will be well worth your time to give that one some more listens.
I still need to revisit Blackwater Park. Cheers
