Create • Share • Inspire - These three things are what this channel will be about, so welcome to RGTV!!! My name is Mark DeRemer, I’m a Furniture Artist & Instructor. Creating a KZread Channel will be another addition to sharing, being creative and allowing others into my lil world of painting furniture and in the end hopefully inspire fellow artists to try new things. As I add videos and grow my Channel, I hope to give each who choose to Subscribe, something new to learn and all the while having fun while watching. And as I do on my FaceBook page, I'll be sure to add plenty of my lil sidekick Maddy for those who've grown to love seeing her in my videos. She loves joining me and I love that's she's been so warmly welcomed to it. So here we go... another chapter added to Refurbished Gentleman... If there's something you'd like to see on my Channel, don't hesitate to ask.

I don't hear any noise... from the sander or the vacuum, how is that?
Hi. I know it’s been two years since you did this video and I very much enjoyed it. So what I would like to know is, first, do you still recommend this sander and second, would it be good for rheumatoid arthritic hands? Thank you for you time.
Great demonstrations and I love the dad/daughter relationship. Have you ever tried the salve on suede? Please keep making your videos!
I am almost ready to purchase a SurfPrep sander however I am still deciding on the SurfPrep Vacuum. This video (unboxing vacuum) was great but I'm most interested in the noise level of this vacuum compared to other brands. I work in a very small space inside our home and the decibel level is very important. Can you advise, please? Thanks! (there was an indication that you would address this in a future video, maybe I just don't see it??)
Their pads are pretty expensive in my opinion… I wonder if the Ekasand ones are compatible.
I ordered the salve and brush and now know more ways to use the product. Hope the car looks great too.
Made in China.
I'm trying to refurbish my dresser and night stands. I am watching your tutorial. Thanks
Why did you stop making videos?
Your work is beautiful. I'm going to try to refurbish my dresser & night stands. Wish me luck.
I absolutely love your finished piece! Just gorgeous! May I make a suggestion: Have your zoom on for the whole process so that we can SEE what is happening as it is happening. We would still hear you and see your arms and hands, AND see what you're actually doing. Just a thought. 😁
I want this sander so badly but man is it pricey! I just bought a table to redo and when watching a video on the page of the product I’m planning to use, I saw a woman using this sander. Don’t know what it was called but started hunting online to find it. Now I want it!
The t shirt gave it away 😆
I’ve been nosing around, you just answered most of my questions. Thank you, Wilber 👴🏻
You're making me want one of these....
How long does it last on the outside patio furniture and cars?
Do you not need an explosion proof fan? I'm brand new to researching these.
From a guy that runs a cabinet shop and has had two bad bearings in two different machines in 4 months, I'd say do not waste your hard earned money on the surfprep. The uneeda copy is even worse. I'm also open to ideas on a better quality machine if anyone wants to chime in.
does the sanders go through clear coat no problem? I just bought one :)
Surf prep t shirt right off the bat i wonder what your stance is
Very cool technique thank you I’m always looking for different things and that is amazing
I really appreciate your input and your time put into showing us. That said, you really talk incessantly.
Very nice ❤
This was a great video on how to use gilding wax. Thank you!! Also, that bed is stunning!!!!❤❤ wow!! Gonna watch more of your videos!!!
Fools and their money. No way any of this justifies paying 5 to 6 times the cost.
Mark thank you❗️how many coats
Dude right on man finally someone with a pps setup for a turbine gun! 😎👍 i was going to make this video also but ya Just got my order today actually, the exactly everything you went over here except i got the 22 oz liners but im using the graco edge 2 plus gun! Mines a little different for u have to get the other adapter threadings that comes with the over the top cup/gravity feed kit in case anyone is wondering the s18 will fit that fitting not the flexliner fitting that comes with the gun! 👍 i may just make a video also but right on man appreciate the video! 😎🤘
Wow! Great presentation so far!
Can I get that sponge for my duwalt sander?
Too much talking and no action
Great video. Love to purchase one. Wonder if i can get discount code from you. Thanks
Hey there, Nice job on the spray booth! You were articulate, practical, and generous for showing folks that you don’t need to buy high end equipment to get it done. Well done my friend! Joe
Brilliant informative vid..thanks!
What kind of stripper did you use, the link you posted doesn’t work anymore and I can’t find anyone else who has done this
What are you holding the furniture up with at the beginning of the video. Great videos! Thanks
Nice review Mr! I'm on the hunt for a good one. Have been looking into the Festool, Mirka, Ekasand and this one. J hook with no vibration its an easier choice to go with the Surfprep. I too use the Ridgid Vac and have found using both a bag and filter with a pool sock eliminates all fine dust. Thanks for sharing!
🎉
Just ordered the s18 adaptor/ 3m pps for my Apollo gun. Looking forward to using it with the turbine. Have used the pps system prior with air compressor guns, but only had metal cups for the turbine.
I’m getting ready to step out and start custom painting furniture for people. I feel Hod is opening this door for me right now. This video was so helpful! Thank you!
Caring for for your body will mean less pain, less damage, less downtime. Ergonomics = quality of life. Thx for your detailed video. Retired Navy family here. Appreciate your service!!
I have 90 year old 7 inch bead board walls AND ceilings with probably 12 coats of paint applied through the life of the home. Can I roll this on to strip my ceiling and walls???
I not sure 3M meant for the paint to be stored in just the liner and lid with a plug. They even say in their training videos that sometimes the lid and liner may not seal ("fuse") together and could leak. Especially once removed from the outer cup. Myself, if I don't have a 2nd H/O cup to use for another project is to try to cleanly move the used liner (with material I'm trying to save inside) and lid back into a non-H/O cup and reapply the small black retaining ring, screw it down, then turn it back over upside down on to the rubber stopper plug (in order to keep the strainer mesh wet and avoid drying clumps coming off the strainer). The benefit of this is then being able to use the "shaker core" (#26458) to provide a wider, more solid base to stand the used liner/lid upside down on, instead of just the plug.
What was the white colored product?
It's Jolie's clear finishing wax. You can use it to lighten unwanted dark areas. You should first apply it prior to using the colored waxes.
Amazing video. So very helpful. Thanks for the inspiration and most importantly the extremely organized and clear teaching about the product. I am definitely purchasing this all because of your amazing tutorial. And - your shop is beautiful and inspiring. Thank you!
Amazing video. So very, very helpful. Thanks for the inspiration and most importantly the
I work in a body shop with professional sanders and i like to re do furniture as a new hobby and talk about sticker shock lol. I couldn't believe how much this sander was and I can see why so many people are on the fence about it. I don't think 1 of our pro sanders cost half the price of this. I see that it works well and time is usually money but I'm still getting over the shock and just can't click the "buy now" button even though I would like to get one.
The worst paper! All foam pads deaminates. Customer service was like what are "you" doing wrong, not let's try to figure this out. I own a busy cabinet shop with a finishing department. After a month of communication with SP they finally sent replacement for the foam pads. In that month we sold the 3x5 sander and all the paper and bought the festool 3x5 sander. We already have festool sanders ofcourse the paper is great.
Best video ever. I bought mine a little over a week ago and just started using it. At first I wasn’t impressed with its mush, but then I watched this and I wasn’t using my protective pad and that changed my entire mush game! 😂 so now I’m getting it. I was starting to have buyers remorse, but this video just made me realized I just don’t know what the hell I’m doing yet and this thing really IS as magical as I think.
WOW AMAZING TRANSFORMATIONS. !! STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL !!!
The Festool RTS 400 with the surfprep foam pads is a better alternative and way cheaper
