Create • Share • Inspire - These three things are what this channel will be about, so welcome to RGTV!!! My name is Mark DeRemer, I’m a Furniture Artist & Instructor. Creating a KZread Channel will be another addition to sharing, being creative and allowing others into my lil world of painting furniture and in the end hopefully inspire fellow artists to try new things. As I add videos and grow my Channel, I hope to give each who choose to Subscribe, something new to learn and all the while having fun while watching. And as I do on my FaceBook page, I'll be sure to add plenty of my lil sidekick Maddy for those who've grown to love seeing her in my videos. She loves joining me and I love that's she's been so warmly welcomed to it. So here we go... another chapter added to Refurbished Gentleman... If there's something you'd like to see on my Channel, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi. I know it’s been two years since you did this video and I very much enjoyed it. So what I would like to know is, first, do you still recommend this sander and second, would it be good for rheumatoid arthritic hands? Thank you for you time.

I am almost ready to purchase a SurfPrep sander however I am still deciding on the SurfPrep Vacuum. This video (unboxing vacuum) was great but I'm most interested in the noise level of this vacuum compared to other brands. I work in a very small space inside our home and the decibel level is very important. Can you advise, please? Thanks! (there was an indication that you would address this in a future video, maybe I just don't see it??)

Their pads are pretty expensive in my opinion… I wonder if the Ekasand ones are compatible.

I absolutely love your finished piece! Just gorgeous! May I make a suggestion: Have your zoom on for the whole process so that we can SEE what is happening as it is happening. We would still hear you and see your arms and hands, AND see what you're actually doing. Just a thought. 😁

I want this sander so badly but man is it pricey! I just bought a table to redo and when watching a video on the page of the product I’m planning to use, I saw a woman using this sander. Don’t know what it was called but started hunting online to find it. Now I want it!

From a guy that runs a cabinet shop and has had two bad bearings in two different machines in 4 months, I'd say do not waste your hard earned money on the surfprep. The uneeda copy is even worse. I'm also open to ideas on a better quality machine if anyone wants to chime in.

Nice review Mr! I'm on the hunt for a good one. Have been looking into the Festool, Mirka, Ekasand and this one. J hook with no vibration its an easier choice to go with the Surfprep. I too use the Ridgid Vac and have found using both a bag and filter with a pool sock eliminates all fine dust. Thanks for sharing!

I not sure 3M meant for the paint to be stored in just the liner and lid with a plug. They even say in their training videos that sometimes the lid and liner may not seal ("fuse") together and could leak. Especially once removed from the outer cup. Myself, if I don't have a 2nd H/O cup to use for another project is to try to cleanly move the used liner (with material I'm trying to save inside) and lid back into a non-H/O cup and reapply the small black retaining ring, screw it down, then turn it back over upside down on to the rubber stopper plug (in order to keep the strainer mesh wet and avoid drying clumps coming off the strainer). The benefit of this is then being able to use the "shaker core" (#26458) to provide a wider, more solid base to stand the used liner/lid upside down on, instead of just the plug.

It's Jolie's clear finishing wax. You can use it to lighten unwanted dark areas. You should first apply it prior to using the colored waxes.

I work in a body shop with professional sanders and i like to re do furniture as a new hobby and talk about sticker shock lol. I couldn't believe how much this sander was and I can see why so many people are on the fence about it. I don't think 1 of our pro sanders cost half the price of this. I see that it works well and time is usually money but I'm still getting over the shock and just can't click the "buy now" button even though I would like to get one.

The worst paper! All foam pads deaminates. Customer service was like what are "you" doing wrong, not let's try to figure this out. I own a busy cabinet shop with a finishing department. After a month of communication with SP they finally sent replacement for the foam pads. In that month we sold the 3x5 sander and all the paper and bought the festool 3x5 sander. We already have festool sanders ofcourse the paper is great.

Best video ever. I bought mine a little over a week ago and just started using it. At first I wasn’t impressed with its mush, but then I watched this and I wasn’t using my protective pad and that changed my entire mush game! 😂 so now I’m getting it. I was starting to have buyers remorse, but this video just made me realized I just don’t know what the hell I’m doing yet and this thing really IS as magical as I think.
