7idea Productions captures modern-day railroads in the North America. Big diesel engines, majestic steam locomotives and beautiful scenery combine for a thrilling train watching experience.
Big boy has been known to pull 65 to 120 cars. And when helped to a start, kept a train 10 km long moving. That is just crazy powerful.

Thanks for a great video - brought back a lot of memories of when I chased trains over parts of the Cima Subdivision and BNSF's Needles Subdivision. When I visited the States for the first time fell in love with the Mojave and on my second trip just had to revisit. Charlie from Canberra

I'm a retired over the road truck driver, I'm very familiar with the part of the country this video is filmed in, I really appreciate the effort that goes into making videos like this and I wonder how many other retired drivers like me watch these videos ❤

I just did this trip last month (thanks in great part to this video). I didn't realize that most of the Fraser River was heavily forested and I'd recommend shooting straight to the Cisco Bridges if you are coming up from the south (Hope/Vancouver). After the Cisco Bridges you have glorious views from Lytton all the way to Kamloops (this video). I spent many hours between Lytton and Ashcroft. The CN and CP have basically created a 2 lane super highway. The Columbia Gorge is similar, however, here in the Thompson area you are closer to each side of the river due to the narrower width of the river and can get great shots no matter which side the trains are on.

Oh boy! A real working steam locomotive, hauling a revenue train! Can you believe it! Not a foto op train! It's fantastic to see her doing what she was built to do, today. I wish I could have been there to see it!

Has a train ever been derailed by a remote control unit pushing too hard or dragging?

That's a great train video. It's amazing to me how they can push a button in Iowa and it turns a rail switcher in California.

Just look at how a simple boxcar towers over the steam engine. Truly a big difference in loading guage back in the 1900s and modern days.

A family member works for UP as a conductor. He runs the Valley Subdivision from Roseville to Dunsmir. Being scenic and more relaxing than the Fresno Subdivision (Sacramento to Bakersfield), this is his much preferred line. Great video.

16:11 What's the purpose of the short poles with horizontal white stripes?
@jeremynielsen55005 күн бұрын
They are for mileage. The number of stripes indicate a quarter mile a pole with one stripe meaning a 1/4 mile, a pole with two stripes equals a 1/2 a mile, 3 stripes equals 3/4 of a mile, and 4 stripes equals. At 1:04:40 you can see a pole with four stripes and numbers placard
