I was looking at doing the same thing, but it's nice to know you have to modify the slide to do so. I'm going to add a manual safety to mine next week. Drop in a P365 safety and mill out the spots on the grip. Sig rep says it will 100% work, but they don't/won't do it for you. Not sure about the warranty, but it's probably the same scenario.
@americantrucker98139 күн бұрын
It is not an easy thing to do and it cannot be converted back. I would recommend simply buying a XL slide. I wouldn’t be worried about modifying these poly grips they are cheap unless yours is the AXG. If that is the case, then I highly recommend that you do not add a manual safety! To my knowledge, you cannot replace an AXG grip because they are not sold. But if you plan on keeping the gun forever and it having almost no resale value, unless someone likes the modification then go for it. I only modify guns. I’m fine with never selling.

Is that the axg legion it looks more like the spectra comp
@alleny281912 күн бұрын
The legion is the least snappy model of the entire line. It has more weight and a comp. I think SIG said the comp alone is a 30% reduction. Now sig messed up on not upgrading their trigger.. too much slack to the wall, and too much mushy pull to the sear
@americantrucker981312 күн бұрын
So I deleted the comp (3.7 inch barrel) and I think it performs much better. Add Lok brass grips for improved balance and recoil. As well as the Dpm recoil system. I put a Mcarbo trigger (over travel adjustable & it already eliminates 15% of the original pre-travel. My trigger is 10000% better after running 3k through the gun. I dislike sigs reset design on this platform. It’s possible to fail to reset based on trigger position. It’s only happened once while shooting. With that said the reliability of this 365 is above average and it’s a edc I do recommend. The trigger reset issue may be my specific gun not sure as this is my only 365. I love the feel of this gun. Definitely my 2nd favorite gun of all time. I added a gas pedal that is designed for the TLR-7sub and modified it to be smaller & custom fit for my thumb.

@americantrucker981322 күн бұрын
They do not add any width, & answering that is completely subjective. I can only give you my opinion and my opinion is they are absolutely worth the money and I couldn’t be happier with them, they are perfectly fine for Carry. When you first get them, they are obviously most aggressive while New and on bear skin somebody with sensitive skin might find it irritating I don’t think it was any more irritating than the factory grips on bare skin. I cerakoted mine & after hours of handling they aren’t as aggressive as new but it certainly is easier on the skin now. I will say that anytime you have a metal grip that is too aggressive. All you have to do is take a scotch pad and run a few passes over it to dull it a bit.

@americantrucker9813Ай бұрын
I honestly recommend having a gunsmith ream your barrel. It shouldn’t cost very much. But these barrels are very expensive and hard to replace and not to mention the chamber diameter is so important for accuracy, and reliable feeding. I didn’t make a video because I do not have the experience or the knowledge to do this properly so I cannot share how I did it because I wouldn’t recommend doing it the way I did it. But I do recommend having it done.
@bassbrothersstories4006Ай бұрын
@americantrucker9813 thank you for the quick reply. What pound recoil spring are you using? I installed a EGW ignition kit and had to use a 10 pound recoil spring cause the 8 and 9 pound was having FTF problems. The heavier recoil spring fixed that problem. I'm curious as I keep seeing people running a EGW ignition kit with a 8 pound recoil spring. I'm using just standard 115gr ammo
@americantrucker9813Ай бұрын
@bassbrothersstories4006 the heavier, recoil spring will mask a tuning problem. Your extractor could be out of tune, or your barrel may need reamed, or less likely but possible your magazine could be out of tune. You should be able to run reliably with a 7 pound recoil spring, if you have a 17 lbs or less main spring. A lot of guns are over sprung to overcome parts that aren’t fine tuned. Once you fine tune yours, you’ll be able to run any combination of Spring pressures until it shoots the way you like. I run the original OEM recoil spring & guide rod in my prodigy. It’s probably less than 7lbs at this point with how many rounds are on the gun.

What barrel did you use, how did you get it to work?
@americantrucker9813Ай бұрын
It is a aftermarket Sig p365XL 3.7 inch barrel by Zaffiri Precision but it does not fit without modification to the slide. And modifying the slide to accommodate the 3.7 inch barrel will void any warranty on slide and after modification you can still use the original 3.1 inch barrel (if you want to, I hate the 3.1 inch barrel and I’ve found the 3.7 inch barrel to actually increase the Accuracy noticeably by myself) I don’t recommend doing this to your slide unless you understand that it’s basically ruining the slide for Re-sale (I don’t sell my guns so it doesn’t bother me) the barrel was $160 bucks. You can always buy the Sig P365 Spectre non comp’d slide but they are expensive or buy a regular XL slide & barrel which still isn’t cheap. If people are interested in doing this (which I don’t imagine anyone is, considering how much this gun costs) I can make a video.

@americantrucker9813Ай бұрын
@MichaelJMalloy I was also thinking about porting the barrel, but I have ported a different 9 mm barrel and I didn’t notice any advantage. In fact I would say it’s a disadvantage because of the carbon that gets thrown up on the top of the gun and gets on the red dot that is another reason I changed my barrel, I hate the Load indicator cut on the top of the chamber, it causes the red dot to get fouled up so the new barrel doesn’t have that cut.

Just wanna get your opinion on my red dirt install. I've got all the safety functions working. Grip, no hammer follow, and was a pain free install. But reading some of the forums they talk about the trigger resetting when you hold the trigger down and releasing after racking the the slide to half cock. Mine just moves but no 'click' reset. Now my hammer doesnt fall when I pull the trigger when half cocked which I think is good. Am I good to go or do I need to remove the pretravel altogether as I've backed it out alot already.
@americantrucker9813Ай бұрын
As long as you have full Sear & Hammer engagement on all notches on your hammer (some hammers are different) and you’ve conducted the Hammer follow tests with the trigger pulled and dropping the slide and while the trigger is released. Than your ready for live fire testing. I will add that you need pre-travel and over travel depending on the parts used and the trigger pull weight that pre-and over travel can virtually be nonexistent for example, on my prodigy with EGW hammer and sear to have the lowest amount of Pre-travel & over travel possible my trigger pull cannot be lighter than 3.5lbs. On my Atlas it’s 2.0 lbs. so the trigger pull weight will depend on your gun and parts. Hammer follow is essentially the Inertia of the slide pulling the trigger on its own by either moving the trigger or if the triggers pulled it can move the Sear ( typically, the first step is to try to add some weight to the left leaf on the-sear spring if your hammer follow is when the triggers pulled and than two add to the middle leaf if the triggers released or two add pre-travel & or over travel. I do apologize if I don’t fully understand what you’re asking me it is sometimes difficult without seeing the firearm in person.

Thank you my friend!

Thank you my friend!
The legion is the least snappy model of the entire line. It has more weight and a comp. I think SIG said the comp alone is a 30% reduction. Now sig messed up on not upgrading their trigger.. too much slack to the wall, and too much mushy pull to the sear
Unfortunately I purchased mine about a month ago and have had nothing but problems with it
@jhettramsey501 damn I’m sorry to hear that my friend! Honestly, these companies need to do better! Especially when it comes to the production of guns, they market for EDC!! I would recommend sending it back if you are not confident in your gunsmithing abilities, I could probably help troubleshoot it with you but considering how much it costs it’s not on you to get it running properly. It’s on them.
@@americantrucker9813 well unfortunately I did send it back and the customer service pretty much told me that there’s nothing they can do and they plan on setting it back to me as is
@@americantrucker9813 and I’m willing to take any advice given to try to get my ridiculously expensive pistol working as expected
Is the black aluminum or black cerakote grips?
I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking, but those are LOK Brass grips that I cerakoted with a custom Cerakote color of tungsten & Armor Black 10/1 T&B with a 12/1 mix ratio.
@@americantrucker9813 they sell two versions of black
I put atlas perfect match ignition system, tool less guiderod, thumb safety, trgger and gas pedal in my prodogy. Im into the gun for 2k. It shoots like a dream! No function issues at all. I would love to own an atlas but my Frankenstein prodogy is awesome for 2k!
Atlas makes incredible guns but the only difference between yours & an atlas at this point is cosmetics, & the aluminum grip. Whichever prodigy you have it will shoot practically identical to an equal length Atlas. You can even buy an Atlas Slide and hand fit the slide to get an Atlas fitting Frame/slide ( but you would possibly need to get a new bull barrel if you did that)
Is it heavier with that aluminum grip
Nor really no. It’s very similar but it completely improves the feel of the gun. Worth every penny
If the 3.7 barrel works, will a threaded barrel?
So is the 3.7 inch barrel only works if you modify the slide, but yes, a threaded barrel will work, but like I said, you will have chip modify the slide. Modify you will essentially delete the compensator and it cannot be reverted back
If you do not want to modify your slide, then simply buy a P365 XL slide. And then you can run whatever barrel you would like, except for the short ones.
what exactly you had to do to the slide? I bought a 3.7 barrel a few days back @@americantrucker9813
Is it even a competition lol
Unfortunately it’s one of those things that you have to be fortunate enough to be able to buy an Atlas. But if all you can afford is a prodigy it’s a good place to start a build for the money. If the Atlas was $2000 no it wouldn’t be a competition, even $3000 but $6000 vs $1300.
@@americantrucker9813 even taking price out of it. The over all build quality and QC on the atlas is unrivaled
Nice Atlas you have there! I nicked my Athena slide when I was testing the ejector. Have you tried the super black? I wonder if it will be easier to use than the super blue.
Thank you, my friend! And I haven’t heard of super black, who makes it?
Same company man lol
I’ll have to check it out. I had only heard of the aluminum black. I have tried a couple other other brands and they are all pretty much the same. I am very surprised at doesn’t use stainless steel slides.
Im going to try the super blue on the athena slide and trigger guard. Following your steps in your video man!
@christianbattung2548 it will indeed work, but it is not a permanent fix. You will have to redo it every so often it doesn’t last as long as I’d like. You can always send your gun to Atlas and they will sandblast it and refinish it. I just don’t see that as feasible either because it’s simply going to get marked up if you carry it. I carry mine every day. It’s not a safe queen so I needed a way to fix it myself.
Thank you for this video
You’re very welcome my friend!! Happy to help! Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it !
Do these add any width to the grip? Are they too aggressive for carry??
Use the discount code HUMBLE to save $12.50 cents
What’s the cerakote color
It is tungsten
I like how you flip the gun towards yourself. dummy
Thank you very much
You are very welcome, my friend!
Should, the more polished the surface the harder it is for it to take, he should have mentioned alumablack for the alloy parts. Thanks for the video
Your welcome and Bluing aluminum hasn’t yielded good results in my experience. Unless the brands I have just suck. On aluminum it just wipes off super easy.
What barrel is that?
That is the P365XL 3.7 inch zaffiri precision barrel. It is not drop in, It requires some modification to the slide to get it to fit.
That looks awesome..
How you get the letters on side gold?
@juanrojas6805 I’m sorry, my friend I just seen this! But I use acrylic paint, it is really simple and easy to get off when you want it to, but it lasts a while if you don’t want it to come off. For engraving, put some paint over it and then wipe it off with your finger and what is left is different color lettering, for raised letters I carefully paint each letter. You can get whatever color acrylic paint you want at any hobby store or on Amazon.
Use a stone I would imagine you’ll have better control of the material you remove
Looks really good.
Thank you my friend!
How’s it shoot? And how do you like that light vs the tlr7sub?
To be perfectly honest with you ! I’m a 2011 guy all the way but I absolutely love this gun and it’s my favorite carry gun and it shoots incredibly good for a striker fired small gun. Obviously it’s not comparable to a 2011 but it is very accurate inside of 40 yards. I can’t speak to the TLR7 Sub because I don’t have one. The 7x was all that was in stock but I do like the 7x but I’d have gone with the Sub definitely because I think it looks a bit cleaner.
@@americantrucker9813 that’s great to hear that it’s a great shooter my problem is I have a tlr7a light but want the sub but don’t want to spend the money if I already have the 7a 🤦🏻♂️the sub is definitely made specifically for sub compacts like the Axg but can’t decide tough decisions!
@@americantrucker9813 I feel like the 7a is too big for the Axg but prolly not a big deal or not to noticeable when it’s on
To my knowledge the 7a or 7x is the exact same size as the 7sub. It’s simply a different shape. If you compare pictures they 7sub sticks out just as far from the muzzle as the 7a. I of course did some modifications to my 7a to get it more flush. But I could be wrong about that. I wish they would have had the 7sub at the gun store so I’d know for sure. If you end up finding out, please let me know.
So my screw in the 7A-X (which just means it has a rechargeable battery) broke today so I just ordered the 7 sub. From what I can tell, I think you are right and it is smaller. I will let you know as soon as I get it and I will make a video.
That’s dope looking but the longer barrel Defeats the purpose of the comp on it
What hammer/sear are you running?
I recommend the EGW ignition kit. You can get the lightened hammer or the regular hammer whichever is your preference if you are looking to replace both your hammer and sear. I would also recommend the Atlas medium flat face trigger shoe & bow
@@americantrucker9813 I did end up going with the egw kit and a red dirt trigger for mine. I like the look of your hammer better than the egw.
@2ToneFox I’m sorry my friend this video is old. I don’t have that hammer anymore, but that is the STI hammer.
Do you have a video reaming the barrel chamber? Im looking to do the same on my 5 inch prodigy. Can you share what reamer and barrel vise you used?
I honestly recommend having a gunsmith ream your barrel. It shouldn’t cost very much. But these barrels are very expensive and hard to replace and not to mention the chamber diameter is so important for accuracy, and reliable feeding. I didn’t make a video because I do not have the experience or the knowledge to do this properly so I cannot share how I did it because I wouldn’t recommend doing it the way I did it. But I do recommend having it done.
It’s probably less than 7lbs at this point with how many rounds are on the gun.
you looked at your watch like 20 times.
Like that trigger
I’m not sure if you’re asking if I like the trigger or you’re saying you like the trigger but it’s the Mcarbo trigger & it’s awesome and with some polishing, the trigger pull is 4lbs
What barrel did you use, how did you get it to work?
@@americantrucker9813I was thinking of doing that and porting the barrel lol
@MichaelJMalloy I was also thinking about porting the barrel, but I have ported a different 9 mm barrel and I didn’t notice any advantage. In fact I would say it’s a disadvantage because of the carbon that gets thrown up on the top of the gun and gets on the red dot that is another reason I changed my barrel, I hate the Load indicator cut on the top of the chamber, it causes the red dot to get fouled up so the new barrel doesn’t have that cut.
You have helped me so much !!!! My 4.25 is a beast because all the advice you gave me was so spot on !!! Thank you. I use red Loctite, also. I'm a retired aircraft mechanic and "red" rules the day. So the only work I had done by a gunsmith ( JP Customs, 1911 Master in Conroe Texas) on mine was the grip safety. I had one machined and installed that has a large palm bump to give me more room for purchase. That work was above my pay grade. Everything else was done by me on your advice and now has all machined EGW parts. The slide rolls like it's on bearings. Extremely consistent 3# trigger. I like the trigger so I did not change it. I use Dawson 11# recoil spring with a buffer, a 17# mainspring and an EGW sear spring. With a Cyelee "Wolf X Pro" and an Olight PL-3, 25 yard head shots are consistent. Great accuracy !!!!! With a 20 round mag it weighs in at 53.25 oz.(1509 grams) Thanks again for your help !!!! 🙂
Thank you very much. I really appreciate the feedback and you’re very welcome. I am very happy. I was able to help you out. That is literally what this is all about for me. So getting your feedback is important! So many firearm owners don’t know what they are missing out on in my opinion. Customizing and making your firearm more personal & suited to your desires is a ton of fun and it helps you understand your firearm intimately. You can’t get that buying a Glock and keeping it OEM. Well thanks again and God bless my friend!
@@americantrucker9813 I have no real way to repay you but to wish G#ds Blessings upon you, tell you the truth and tell others to listen to what you know !!!!! 🙂
Wow what grips are those? Reminds me of an atlas.
It’s the Cheely L2 Aluminum grip & yes Atlas used them on their older models & I think they might still use them on the Athena but they use the Alpha grips now but I think those are also made by Cheely but that’s pure speculation
May I ask what your mainspring/recoil spring setup end up becoming?
No problem my friend! I use a 13lbs mainspring & factory recoil spring & guide rod with the EGW keyed reverse plug
I like the racing stripes on the frame, I bet it makes it shoot faster 😂
Id love to know your iwb holster for your Prodigy? Im currently awaiting mine and i cant find anything i like… Thanks
I have a video on the holster. It is actually a Glock 17 holster/ TLR-1 that fits my prodigy & holoson and I even used my heat gun to make it a better fit, but you don’t need to use a heat gun. It will work just fine.
Looks amazing where can I get mines does the same way love it!!!!!!
Hey man, my prodigy build is done after a year of tinkering. Thanks for the information in your vids, was great input. I ended up getting mine accu railed by Doug Jones, John Harrison custom made some irons for it. Went with the PT Hero grip, DSC comped barrel, all Brazos internals, and an SVI trigger. Overall, it was expensive however I would put it up against any 2011 on the market with confidence.
That is awesome my friend and thank you very much! I really do appreciate it hearing that and I’m glad you’ve made it your own and did your Spin because ultimately that’s what it’s all about! customizing is sincerely half of the fun ! People whom leave it bone stock will never understand! God bless to you and yours, my friend!
Looks absolutely badass..
Thanks my friend!
My only beef with this is the cost. Thanks to my own fuckery, I ended up having to invest in a gunsmith to get my gun running right, and that put my gun close to the price it would have been around release when they were selling for 1500 before tax. So at this point, I don't really want to put more money into the gun than I have to, but if I really feel like the slide stop is slowing me down in competition, then I will have to jump on a new slide release.
Cute highlights
This is cringe worthy, please stop! That slide is ruined and will have feeding issues. Get training if you want to continue doing work like this. Also live ammo on your bench is a recipe for disaster.
Lmao. Message from a dead man according to you. Those are your opinions (I fought for you to have and share them btw ) but they aren’t Facts. You’re the problem with this country. Entitlement, disrespect, & you’re simply a snob. Why don’t you try to lecture you children but outside that mind your own business. The slide isn’t ruined & runs flawlessly as does 1000s of others who’ve done this upgrade. So to assert Your opinions as Fact in a disrespectful manner shows that you truly are a Fool. Facts don’t care about your feelings.
Bro shut ur mouth u asshat
Hmmmmm
WOW! You really just eyeballed that with the Dremel. You do understand there’s some math to the degree the angle should be at. Also, some gunsmith’s modify the disconnector too.
Grinding down the disconnector isn’t something I’d recommend. And It’s not rocket science my friend. Luckily for me I didn’t invent the wheel here, I simply took a tried & true upgrade and applied it to my own & share my personal opinions & experience. I’m sorry that it wasn’t to your liking.
The upgrade is a great idea, I have marvel upgrades on all my 2011s. But I sent them to a Gunsmith who measured them and did the work. By all means it’s your gun do with it how you like?
@dcuellarjr there’s nothing wrong with sending it to the gunsmith, but this upgrade is not that difficult or complicated and does not require a skilled gunsmith. Many guys simply do not have access to an affordable gunsmith, but still would like to enjoy upgrading and learning that is what I do here I learn and I share.
Carry a p365x that i’ve done soo much shit to it’s the furthest thing from being a “sig” but this modular and versatile little carry piece has become one i trust my life and others too. Daily carry my prodigy or p320 axg on cooler days but the 365 is soo damn popular for a reason. Glad to see you holding it to a respectable level!
I appreciate your feedback my friend! I certainly didn’t think much of them but I’m glad I held it because that’s all it took. I do like it allot. God bless my friend!
