    Well done sir! You're reaction to the Prodigy is priceless. You shot one truly amazing gun and one truly great gun. You have the personal satisfaction of taking the Prodigy to the next level and it's hard to put a price on that. Thanks!

    Hey man, my prodigy build is done after a year of tinkering. Thanks for the information in your vids, was great input. I ended up getting mine accu railed by Doug Jones, John Harrison custom made some irons for it. Went with the PT Hero grip, DSC comped barrel, all Brazos internals, and an SVI trigger. Overall, it was expensive however I would put it up against any 2011 on the market with confidence.

People whom leave it bone stock will never understand! God bless to you and yours, my friend!

    I put atlas perfect match ignition system, tool less guiderod, thumb safety, trgger and gas pedal in my prodogy. Im into the gun for 2k. It shoots like a dream! No function issues at all. I would love to own an atlas but my Frankenstein prodogy is awesome for 2k!

    Atlas makes incredible guns but the only difference between yours & an atlas at this point is cosmetics, & the aluminum grip. Whichever prodigy you have it will shoot practically identical to an equal length Atlas. You can even buy an Atlas Slide and hand fit the slide to get an Atlas fitting Frame/slide ( but you would possibly need to get a new bull barrel if you did that)

    I absolutely agree with this. I bought the prodigy added about 300 worth of parts into it. And it runs phenomenal. So at 1600 I have plenty of room to make this an absolute beast under 2k. It has quickly become my favorite to shoot

    Honestly, I feel like anybody who has a good running prodigy is going to feel the way we do and because of all the negativity they will continue to shoot their Glocks and never know how amazing this platform really is! Basically as I watch the video I think it really just comes down to cosmetics. Obviously, the atlas is much better looking heck, I think a OEM prodigy would look better than mine, because I have done so many projects to it but in the end you’re simply paying three times as much just for it to look a little different and be able to tell people how much money you got! And in my case, I have to tell them about how much money I once had lol 😂 jk

    Awesome thank you very much and I made this channel for people exactly like you.! This is an absolutely amazing platform and it has become my absolute favorite and I’m confident that once you get yours running properly to its maximum performance, it will become your favorite as well! So I like to experiment and try new things so that I can help people out and expand my knowledge and experience. I have ran over 15,000 rounds through my factory Springfield prodigy Magazines without fail! But I wanted to see if I could use Glock and pmag springs in the prodigy tubes because they are almost identical, with the exception that the Glock magazines and pmags have one additional coil in the springs so I have been testing and they work excellence in The Prodigy mags the only downside is you do lose one round with the Springfield baseplate but I have also know that the atlas base plate gives you one extra round also so you could pair those together but mainly I just wanted to know if the Glock magazine springs would be a reliable replacement, because I know most of us have a crap load of Pmags and Glock mags laying around more so Pmags because the price.

    I recommend the Holoson PID for the 4.25 inch prodigy and surefire x300 for the 5 inch prodigy. I run a bunch of holsters. The one from this video is a Glock 17/ TLR-1 OBW kydex holster from Amazon that fits the prodigy and Holoson PID. I have a few holster videos on my channel. Hey what recoil and main spring are you running? In the prodigy.....I have a 9 and tried an 8# recoil spring but had issues. I threw an EGW disconnector, sear and sear spring. Still having an issue with catching on the disconnector.

  • @americantrucker9813

    @americantrucker9813

    Im using voice to text because I’m driving it’s bad sometimes so bare with me so I the factory recoil spring and a aftermarket 17 pound mainspring (that’s actually 12Lbs) from EGW it is worth noting that these main springs you can buy are not always accurate. I received three from EGW that we’re not actually 17 pounds one of them was 22 pounds and one of them was 12 pounds. I will say the 12 pounds.main spring is absolutely my favorite and I have had zero issues with it. I will be making a video about this soon, but I do use a EGW disconnector it is not a big deal if your slide catches on the disconnector, because it is at the rear position of the slide so that alone will not cause issues but you can polish the disconnector carefully until it gives the desired smooth operation but I wouldn’t suggest it unless you have an extra one, because if you takeoff too much material, and the slide does not engage it Your trigger will not reset. If you give me a few days, I will make a video on how to tune The Prodigy specifically how I have turned mine. One of the big things is the extractor if it is out of tune and it is too tight. It will prevent the slide from going fully into battery, and if it is even tighter than that, the next round might not even be able to get underneath of it if it is too loose, then you will have double feedings, because it will not extract the round properly.

  • @TheNickademas1

    @TheNickademas1

    Жыл бұрын

    @@americantrucker9813 yea the main spring I got from EGW definitely seems pretty light don’t have the means to test it. 100 rounds with the setup I have in now tried a 8lb EGW recoil spring but had a few issues. It feels and shoots a tich better for me with the 8lb recoil spring so I’ll be sure to watch that extractor video and learn how to do that because I got a few stove pipes not failure to battery.

    @@americantrucker9813 also I should preface this with I have 1000rounds on the gun it had 2 malfunctions as is from factory within the first 100 rounds. All other issues is after I’ve started messing with it(well because you gotta) have my stock trigger working at 2.5-3lbs. Couldn’t justify spending a lot on something that i feel like isn’t that critical of function more of just aesthetics.

  • @americantrucker9813

    @americantrucker9813

    Жыл бұрын

    @@TheNickademas1 what exactly did you do to get your trigger lighter ? And what I would say about the slide hanging up on the disconnector is the Polish, the disconnector and the disco rail but the biggest thing will be the middle leaf on the sear Springs that controls how much force is on the disconnector so you can take a little weight off of that leaf, and then the slide should push it down easier and reduce the hang up. I prefer a lighter recoil spring, but with less recoil spring you will need to make sure there is no friction and everything is in tune, but I assure you that once you get this gun tuned properly, it is very reliable for a very long time at least 10,000 Rounds before you have to tune it again.

    I am not a prodigy hater by any means. I think it is a perfectly fine gun. A solid intro into the 2011 platform. However, it isn't comparable to a Bul Armory or a Staccato and to call it comparable to ANY Atlas is downright insulting. And you know what.....I think Springfield Armory would agree. It's like shooting the prodigy with a gen 3 Glock 17 and saying there is no real difference.

    You were the one that said a Springfield Prodigy cannot even be compared to a Bul armory 2011 copy cat and a Staccato STI 2011. All modular double stack 1911s are a clone of the 30+ year old STI 2011 design they are more than comparable they are little the same design! The only differences being cosmetics and quality. To say something as goofy as and then try to ask a question about apples & oranges shows that your operating based on your feelings & opinions and the Facts don’t matter. Don't get me wrong, Staccato makes a great product, but I know you're not about to tell me that it's inherently better because of the price.
