Such beautiful pieces brotha! The slide on the Atlas is 🔥! Can’t wait for videos on that beauty. I’m starting to really like 2011’s. I’m not going to lie, I really want to get a Staccato XC😅

Thank you !! I fell in love with all of the Atlas line when I first seen them and the Nyx dug it’s way into my soul ! It’s a work of art but it’s no safe queen im going to get my moneys worth out of it ! And I’m going to work on a couple videos this weekend so probably Sunday or Money I’ll put them up ! And I like the XC as well i just feel it’s a bit overpriced if it had an aluminum grip I think that would definitely make that price point more reasonable and I’ve used a compensated 9mm so I can’t say it’s not better but 2011s with aluminum grips shoot incredibly flat already I can’t imagine it getting any better ! But if you want an XC you should definitely get one! We only live once and these guns hold their value so I think it would be a wise investment you may lose 1,000 bucks on resale if you had to sell it but you can easily get a 1,000s worth of shooting out of it first !!

Cool, thanks man. The first thing in wondering is in relation to the optic. I remember you had a 407k on there. I think that’s a perfect sized optic for my intended use of the gun. But did you say the 407k optic plate is much thicker than the 407c plate, which made it impossible to sight the k series in? I’d like to do the k series, but if the plate is too fat, I’ll avoid it

  • @americantrucker9813

Yes, you are correct. That is the case with my specific 407K. I haven’t had a different 407K to try so it could be specific to my optic, especially considering I have been quite difficult on my things so it is very possible you wouldn’t have that issue, but if yours is the same as mine it would completely defeat the purpose, I just feel like if it was an issue with all of the 407ks wouldn’t people be pretty upset about that and you would hear more about it? So with that said you can roll the dice. I agree with you I originally preferred the 407K because it matches the slide with perfectly but once I put my 508T on there it was so much better even with it hanging off the side just a little bit and I don’t think it actually looked bad. It is very proportionate to the size of the grip and everything so either optic will balance pretty well in my opinion.

That’s makes sense, thanks for a thorough explanation. When you had the Romeo 0 mounted, it looked like the plate was actually wider than the optic. Was that the same situation with the 407k or was the 407 the same width as the plate. These are minor details, but I’m picky, especially when it’s a relatively expensive gun. Any way you could post of pic or video of what the 407k looks like vs the 508t you now have? I think we have similar taste in guns haha. I’m planning to put the PID on as well and would like to try the 407k, but if it doesn’t look great I’ll try the 508t as well

@@The_Glocktor so the time you seen my Romeo on my prodigy was before Springfield actually sent out the plates and that was the original plate that came with the gun, I got tired of waiting for the new plates, so I modified the one I had. But if you order the new plates, they will be the exact width of the optic so you don’t have to worry about that and I completely understand. I am very picky as well. I like things to be proportionate and sit flush I don’t have the 407K plate anymore. I gave it away because they needed it and they couldn’t find it anywhere so I wouldn’t be able to mount that optic to show you. I do apologize but I remember very well that it doesn’t look bad on there but with how thick that plate is it makes it sit incredibly high, which I don’t care for as far as looks so, even if I had been able to zero it. I still prefer the RMR plate with either the 508T or the Trijicon RMR. Those are the only ones I mounted on it and they match it incredibly well in my opinion especially the 508T paired with the Holosun PID light( which I modified the back of the light housing and the plastic piece that interfaces with the rail to make it sit flush) you can find some content on my channel showing what that looks like. Specifically, there is a short titled “ Springfield armory prodigy 1911 DS stainless”

Unfortunately it’s one of those things that you have to be fortunate enough to be able to buy an Atlas. But if all you can afford is a prodigy it’s a good place to start a build for the money. If the Atlas was $2000 no it wouldn’t be a competition, even $3000 but $6000 vs $1300.

That’s definitely not the intent after all I’m invested in Atlas now. I’m just a working man who’s learned over my lifetime just because it costs more doesn’t make it better. Now that’s completely subjective but it comes down to performance and the prodigy has insane reliability to me with having put over 12,000 rounds through it and I can count every single failure with 2 hands
