unpopular opinion. but p5strikers is my favorite persona game period. mainline games included. yes I've played and 100% completed whatever game you're about to rebuttal this with. idc p5s was so good
Even after completeing Persona 3 Reload, I would still say Persona Q is my overall favourite game in the franchise. (I know... It's an opinion NOBODY would agree with.)

Silent Hill has been my object of infatuation since I was only 4 years old watching my mother play in the living room with me in her lap. My mother got startled so easily lol.😂 But when I got older I was prepared, until I played SH4. This one and SH4 have been the only two of the entire series that has made me legitimately TURN THE GAME OFF and not come back to it for weeks simply because of how scary they were. I love Silent Hill so I always end up revisiting the games and beating them. But best believe it STILL has this affect on me. 😭 I'll get so terrified and shut the game off immediately. In short, this remake better have that same affect lol!

People say Persona has too many spin-offs. If they were low effort cash grabs then I would agree with them. But almost every Persona spin-off is either good or great. I think Phantom X is the last Persona 5 spin-off before Persona 6. So I can't wait for all the unique Persona 6 spin-offs in the future
I doubt it's the last one since P5X is mostly being done by Black Wing with Atlus supervision. I do think we are getting close tho

The two protagonists angle makes me think they'd be rivals. So you'd have a central team that could split into two seperate camps depending on differing views.
RE3 remake scariest moment is still the hospital but on hardcore and above... You get greeted with lickers AND hunters, horrible
Other very good turn based strategy RPGs that he did not mention if you are interested: Valkyria Chroinicles 1-4, Disgaea 1-7, Tactics Ogre (remaster on steam), Final Fantasy Tactics.
Strikers was an amazing trip around Japan with the cast and new characters. I loved seeing those landmarks with the Persona charm. Also, the combat system was GREAT! I loved playing each one of the characters to unlock achievements. That said: DUNGEONS MUSIC WAS TERRIBLE. It didn't feel like Persona music at all and you can't change it! You can only change combat music, which was mostly fine. P4AU is also AMAZING!! Feels really rough around the edges on Steam, with tons of bugs and other issues (especially in high resolutions), but it's addictive and has a lot of content. The first campaign is reaaaaally repetitive, though. After playing it with 2 characters, you've pretty much seen everything. The second campaign is AWESOME.
The dungeon music in Strikers was bad and didn’t feel like Persona music? You’d be surprised to see that you’re probably one of the only people to think that way. Why? Because it’s good music. A lot of people like Loving Wonderland. Voracious Waltz is fine for what it is, but not too special. Singularity has everyone saying that it’s the best jail theme, it’s so good. Counterfeit Phantom literally has a Life Will Change leitmotif in it, how can you not like that? And Anti-Hero is freaking amazing! I can agree with saying Duplicitous Devil’s Castle is bad though, it has literally nothing to it. Can’t say much about Jail in Abyss, but Tower of Life is pretty good.

I loved p5, but p4 is still my favorite. Looks Iike I might be buying 4 for a third time lol- the original base, gold, and this remake.

The "baby" in Village was one of the most disturbing,and disgusting,but the Rose dlc. It's so much worse (IMO). It plays on a certain fear so if you scared of stuff like that,it's gonna suck. It was one of the scariest things I have every seen in my life.

I hardly get scared by a horror game anymore. re7 had it's moments but I could feel the action throughout the game giving it a touch of "I can fuck them all" style. Same as in re8. The level with the big baby, however, made me shit my pants.
I am not looking forward to this and I will not be getting it. Mainly because it looks like an action game. I can't see the horror. I see a modern generic over the shoulder game with a Silent Hill skin. As I was writing this I saw the comment from Bloober about storytelling through action 🫤

I thought the revisit to House Beneviento in Shadows of Rose was even scarier than the baby. The mechanic of not looking away, only you have to in order to progress is fundamentally very scary. I bet it would be even more so in VR.

Persona 6 Will Have Two Playable Protagonists With Their Companions on Two Sides
RER2 got the chance to be a masterpiece. The first two chapters were absolutely pure horror, and the idea was a lot more original than the same zombie haunted mansion, or the same action oriented game in a semi-open world or a totally open world game like 4 or village. RER2 was original, with a great frightening setting, a good plot (at least until the end of the second episode), it's a shame how they managed to ruin a game that could bring up some originality in the franchise, and had a very solid base by the first two episodes. Alex Wesker was a great villain in the first half of the story, then she became Albert Wesker 2.0, and with that they basically got rid off the mistery and originality of that figure that was just like Big Brother, and you were like in an enormous panopticon. Her bossfight was a scarier but much easier version of Mendez boss fight in re4.

*RE1* was scary as hell. “Compared to what?” “Compared to what”, indeed. As a fella who has played all sorts of horror games for a longer while, *Penumbra* and (especially) *Amnesia: Dark Descent* has a special slot in my memory “for that type of horror games”. For that reason, *RE7* and *RE8* were utter disappointments for me. At no moment were I ever even tensed up playing those games (disappointingly looking at you *RE7* scaredy cats… (and this vid too (sadly))).
Bloober already clarified what was said in the article- they're breaking away from games that are essentially walking sims, find objects, some puzzles, and character speaking as they walk/find things to tell the story. The atmosphere was the only way the story was told. Whereas even in the OG SH2, the monsters we fought were an integral part of the story and atmosphere.
I don't really want to have to play as two different protagonists in one playthrough because I like the idea that the mc is a self-insert for the player so I feel that the having two mc would break that idea, I would much prefer being able to choose the character at the start although I would not be opposed to having the other mc be a character in the story.

With the amount of detail in these first 2 parts.. i think there'll be 4 parts. If this one will be disc 2, they'll have to do disk 3 with ruby and emerald weapons ect
There's also another way to interpret the "horror through action" statement. Action doesn't exclusively have to mean action games or combat, it can also just be the act of doing something that influences events in a different way. I'm not saying that's necessarily the case here, but since those are translated statements, we should take them with a grain of salt. Especially since the statement didn't directly say "combat", but "action".
Honestly, why it’s so hard to figure out a good remake with these games just blows my mind. When too much is changed, that’s what takes away from the original formula that worked to begin with. They could easily take the old games, update the graphics, then add to it that way. Keep the original formulas then add to it. Don’t make it a completely brand new game. Also keep elements of the old ones. What I would suggest.. require if I was a developer.. EVERYONE has to play the original game. Everyone. Keep the nose effects. People should get a feel of there actual classics from these games too. Create the nostalgia that touched people’s hearts back in the day. Camera angles are a must. Combat is wildly important to keep the same. I just.. yeah, idk. I hope it works out. Really do. I wish we had team Silent doing the projects. They were just so phenomenal together. They understood what these games needed more than anyone and if they all reunited oh my god. Something about the Japanese with horror games, they just create a masterpiece when they set out to do it. It really makes you respect how other cultures view specific genres. Miss team Silent.
I watched this ranking because im almost finished with playing them all and im before 7. I was so scared to play it, now im just more scared :/
I hope part 3 gets less mini games. Too many mini games is very unnecessary.
I just hope with the two protagonist thing, they're not going to cut/shorten the gameplay time of each protagonist. Something like that happened to Mana Khemia and it suck, makes the game feels rushed
