I would have to pass on the plat in this one, the piano minigame is a nightmare with the controler. With a keyboard doable or even easy, the controler is too unresponsive and unprecise for my taste, not fun.

FF7 Rebirth is SOOOOOOO much better than I expected it to be. And I had high expectations. 89 hours in, and I have no real complaints. It's weird to me what people are choosing to nitpick.

Same. I have some strong ideas but they could easily be wrong.

The two things they _need_ to nail in part 3 are the world and the ending. For the world, that means the handling of the Highwind and the sub, as well as how retreading ground covered in Rebirth will be done. The ending needs to have an exciting final boss sequence and we also need the story to be wrapped up neatly -- not just the original story but also the new elements. My personal third thing is the Weapons. We have got to have really interesting and challenging fights against these epic planet-protecting kaiju. And I _really_ hope they're not all fish-whales.

As for the ending I hope we get some closure for Sephiroth cause even if you do kill him his jenova cells won’t let him become one with the life stream so I’m wondering if this time Jenova really would be the main villain and that the only way to truly beat Sephiroth is to somehow separate him from the Jenova cells

Finished the game last week. Just finished the last of the side quests tonight. Now just working on clean up. Loving every second of it.

The thing i'm most excited for in part 3 ? I think how they 'll handle the Tifa and Barret prisoners of Heidegger and Scarlet, and on top of that, Tifa slapping the crap out of Scarlet, and maybe using more than just slaps.

I almost hope they replace tifa with yuffie in that scene, yuffie slapping the shit out of scarlet seems more in character to me, I can't picture tifa, the ultra strong trained martial artist, slapping her enemy. Plus yuffie has that personal vendetta against Scarlet. But they could save yuffie fighting scarlet for return to midgar

And don't forget Tifa'ld have a lot of reasons for holding a grudge against Scarlet anyway ... she is one of those responsabile for the destruction of Sector 7 slums after all.

@@linkshunter608considering it happens right after scarlet captures tifa and scarlet also bitch slaps her while her hands are chained down I think it makes sense she does it the way she does, of course we all know tifa can annihilate her but tifa is still a regular human (in the game world) and she is portraying a very human emotion, revenge/pettiness. At that point it wasn’t about how badly tifa could annihilate her, that would mean nothing because tifa knows it but now to bitch slap her so hard and so many times that she drops to her knees in front of tifa? Ultimate revenge, the best way to truly even the score, beat her at her own game because she knows scarlet can’t beat tifa at tifas game😏

I'm trying to 100% it first time then going back through on hard mode to focus on story. You spend 10 hours out in the field I've gotten forgotten some of the story lol and that isn't a knock on the game so much shit to do! Update my date was Aerith. Which is what I wanted in my 1st playthrough! I want Tifa in my hard mode! Who did you get?

I loved it and it emotionally drained me playing the game in a good way. My only issue was the pacing of the story. Once it hits chapter 12 the narrative gets proper notched up a gear so you go from a very very long slow build up to a fast paced finale

I would be hyped if in part 3 we could get the Fusion sword for Cloud. But for now I'm excited to see how Vincent plays

After 2 playthroughs i can say for a fact that we need the Loveless outfits for all characters the amount of lack luster choices really hits replayability

Part 3 I'm ready for Knights of the Round Table and Highwind!!!

I was recently visiting my dad who has a sony TV, it comes with a clarity "super resolution" mode, its insane how much of a difference it made while cranked up on performance mode, like, i was beyond impressed how good it looked. Now I'm back home, Samsung has no such option sadly haha, though it does come "Flowmotion" that really smooths out the frames in graphics mode substantially enough.

Played in quality mode and there are def some Door texture moments, but the weirdest thing is that NPCs have an animation range so if you are kinda far from any NPCs they just freeze in place and move as you get closer which just looks really weird when moving around. What they really need is a dedicated port studio to work on these games alongside the main studios during development so that they can get these games launched on PC at the very least on Day One.

i dont think you'll be able to fly an airship around, i dont think its gonna be like rebirth with almost the whole world to travel, its gonna be linear. cutscenes taking you from place to place. all thats left is pretty much story, great glacier, north crater, rocket town and underwater junon base. makes no sense to explore the whole world again.

Given the direction of the ruined game thus far, perhaps we won't even get to steal the Highwind from Shinra at all. The Tiny Bronco was repaired at the end of Rebirth right? Let's just fly with the pink plane instead. Barret dropping the f-bomb - That's foul language, it's bad. Cid abusing Shera - That's misogyny, it's bad. Cid smoking a cigarette - It's bad. Palmer rammed over by a truck - That's reckless driving, it's bad. Cloud doing CPR on Priscilla - That's pedophilia, it's bad. Yuffie calling Tifa "Boobs" - That's sexual harassment, it's bad. Sephiroth leaving bloodstains all over Shinra HQ - That's terrorism, it's bad. Dyne leaving dead bodies all over Gold Saucer - That's terrorism, it's bad. Sephiroth impaling Aerith's stomach - That murder, it's bad. Dyne jumping off the cliff - That's suicide, it's bad. Cloud and gang stealing the Highwind - That's theft, it's bad.

I played the entire game on performance mode & had a wonderful time with no issue at all. It says a lot about the game when the only bad thing everyone wants to point out is how lighting looks on the faces. Rebirth is 10/10 ❤️

@dpenduro8950 ugh I wanted to like graphics setting but I’m just the opposite, too much jar in the screen movements & I get headaches fast, the constant 60 fps was such a relief & despite what everyone is saying, I really didn’t see bad graphics the whole time, but I’m also not a nit picker like that

I can see a lot of the world being done, they pretty much just nee to fill in the places that aren't done yet. I could see Rocket Town finally coming into play, and who knows, maybe the places we currently see the Highwind sitting at Junon could be one of the places can dock.

FF7 Rebirth has become the highlight of my days im on chapter 10 and im sad that ill finish it soon.

I’m feeling the same way. I’m doing a hard mode play through and going for 100% to keep that sadness at bay. I sure hope the inevitable dlc gives us a playable Vincent or cid

It’s my first ever final fantasy/rpg game and it’s pretty amazing lol

What I look forward to the third game 1. Free flying the Highwind, not like how it was with the Tiny Bronco 2. Minigames that are substantially more balanced whether on Normal or Hard (Looking at you Cactuar Crush, screw you) 3. Tying up the whole "Multiverse" angle. Not a big fan of it; but I see why they did it this way 4. How they handle the real "Weapons", not the fish-like ones in Rebirth. The Real Weapons, like Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Ultimate 5. Forest of the Ancients, that needs to be in there 6. Cid and Vincent being playable characters and their side stories being available (Rocket Town needs to included as well) 7. All three variants of Bahamut (Normal, Arisen (Neo) and ZERO) needs to be included, if not then only ZERO

Also in 3rd game, I am looking forward to giant Kaiju battles, hIghwind and Knights of the round. Im hoping the make the knights into a story progression thing. Let it push narrative forward.

Eager for Cid and Vincent Gameplay. Curious if some members may NOT be available for the entirety of the third installment (or just large sections like the regular game). I mean with Cid and Vincent and the rest it will be even more characters then we had in Rebirth. That's a lot of synergy moves, weapons, and equipment to manage.

What I’m most excited for in the 3rd game? Being able to have all 9 characters in the gameplay formation. I figured a character like Vincent would only be an NPC this time around, but that doesn’t make it any less disappointing

it's great I love how Chewbacca showed up in the end with Han Solo's force ghost and told Cloud he needs to take the one ring to mount doom where he could use it to raid the lost ark XD

I just wish that in the Graphics mode that there was camera motion blur. Characters and other objects have motion blur, but when you turn the camera, there is no blur at all, making it look choppy when you turn the camera.

NO UPDATE YET… I really don’t see why this is even a video, but the predictable thumbnail gives me a good idea, god being original is forbidden these days it seems

I've played something like 120 hours, done most things except some Chadley VR stuff and about half of the Chocobo races, and I've only done a couple of chapters on Hard Mode. I've loved it. I haven't played all other FF games, but of the ones I have played this is my favorite and it was my favorite over all gaming experience since early-mid 2010's. Also I played the entire game in Graphics mode. I'm not used to playing at 60 fps anyway, mostly playing older games or playing on the Switch, so someone used to 60 fps might think differently, but I never experienced any hiccups or latency or anything playing in graphics mode.

Nice! I've just completed the game and I'm going for Gilgamesh now. Freaking love pretty much everything about Rebirth, and as a longtime fan of Final Fantasy, this has got to be my favorite one of them all

Im in chapter 8 and this is a blast. My job and family life suffer. I play at nights/evenings and feel constatly tired. Needed vac for this but it is not the time...

What we need is a completely different ending, not a graphics patch! Im not even suggesting it be the OG plot - the ending was so confusing and disappointing that it felt like a total let down. I've listened to multiple takes on what the ending could mean and none of it made any sense. Including the Whispers and the multiverse just ruined it for me.

the ending is far more simple than you think it is. don't listen to all that multiverse or especially time travel bullshit. Aerith is dead. Cloud is completely delusional and unable to accept the truth. It's exactly like the original, except this time we're seeing it much more closely through Cloud's point of view and it's confusing and uncomfortable because he can't accept reality and won't let us, either. Aerith still collapses in the "reality" where Cloud "saves" her. She has no reason to collapse if Sephiroth was successfully deflected. From that point forward, we only ever see Aerith "alive" from Cloud's point of view, and no one else can tell she's there. The only inkling anyone gets is when she touches Red's mane. What we're seeing is Aerith's ongoing consciousness in the Lifestream, which Cloud can see due to - probably - a combination of his Jenova cells and the fact that he was handed Holy.

Also if your a Playstation owner and havent bought this game your missing out big time this game is amazing

I’ve played all 130 hours in performance mode and I think it looks stunning but I’m also not a graphics snob and usually can’t even tell subtle differences people like digital foundry nit pick about.

I’m just worried/scared that they won’t be able to include 2 disks of content within the final part of the remake, and that a lot of content or story even will end up being cut, vs if rebirth was the equivalent of disk 2 and part 3 being the equivalent of part 3

This game legit made me feel like I was playing a triple A game that made itself known. Not trying to copy dmc like 16.. Don't get me started on the many things to do per area. People hate that it's in parts but forget that devs wanted to bring this series to life for a long time with the original script. The only reason folks are mad is because its not the generic story it was in the OG. The game is selling well just not in physical copies. Since everything is moving to digital and especially the 2-1 deal that the digitally is offering it makes sense for physical copie sales to be down.

All the graphics look amazing to me and the performance has been great. I haven't experienced any lags in the 80+ hours of plat so far.

This will be worth playing on the PS5 Pro when it comes out. I'Ve been playing the remake on PS5 and the difference from when it first came out is night and day. Also think that not being able to carry over your save from remake is a huge missed opportunity.

You get a couple of summon materia if it detects a cleared save from remake and it's DLC. But thats all sadly.

I’ve beaten the game and I have to say I give it a solid 8/10. Great game. Awesome story moments with missions and companions. Love the mini games and Open world areas are extremely beautiful. The only things I didn’t like is 1. The Multiverse theory in the game is extremely confusing. The whole thing with Zack is a bit unnecessary. 2. I wasn’t crazy on how they handled the death scene with Aerith. 3. The final boss fight was just too much. The nonstop phases was getting a bit irritating & tedious.

Same, amazing game, loved it throughout with all the little scenes with the party and them interacting and fleshing out the characters we love, but the ending was not it for me, and the constant teasing of Zack and then still not knowing what the purpose of all that was even at the end, and then Biggs being alive for nothing cause he just gets shot up anyway

Looking forward to the graphics update, but honestly I've been having an absolute blast!! SE has truly outdone themselves with this one.

If you have motion plus settings on Samsung outside of game mode, you can play this in Graphics mode without stutter, judder :). Played the whole game on Graphics.

Just finished it tonight, it was incredible. Definitly my game of the year. So far... I doubt anything will top it.

Yes! I know we all had our memories with ff7, people may be conflicted but art is art, when I was a teenager I was always looking forward to themes that are closer to grief and I related to clouds moodiness alot more but i was also more selfish and thought, if that was me id do this differently or this and that are stupid and i always thought my art would be better if i had those same resources...but these days im less entitled, and I want to know what other people created rather than my own selfish idea of what I think should happen. And so I find myself wanting more hope and aspiration and redemption as I've had my fill of despair and hopelessness when confronted with extreme loss. Like when evangelion made a come back with shinjis redemption made me so happy that that miserable kid had some closure and a smile was great and it all happened within the last act changing my entire prlerspective on the series. so to me, as long as they nail the final entry I think it will be worth it. Because the final entry solidifies the previus entry's as to whether they fit or not. Infact look at any trilogy and the common thing is that the final entry is usually not as story deep but that were the emotional punch and where you see the fulfillment of the art. And one things for certain, if this was only about the money they could have made this thing way shorter....111 hours in and I've still got quests I could do! Absolutely bonkers! They could have split thw game in 2 and it would still be huge!! I clapped at the end lol that final phase of the battle was so clean! I can't wait for all the supplemental you tube culture that pours out of this.

The PS4 data will not load. It is the PS5 version of the game

I didn’t think the 60 fps mode was bad at all until I switched to the graphics mode and it was almost a completely different looking game. Everything is nerfed in the performance mode. The textures, lighting, resolution…it’s insane how much better it looks in graphics mode. This game would definitely benefit from the PS5 Pro.

Still going through the game haven’t finished it yet but so far I love every single bit of the game. I’m mostly curious to know if the 3rd part is going to be a whole other game entirely or an expansion dlc or something to the rebirth game itself if not a dlc then I would really appreciate if my relationship status points that I developed for my characters are transferrable 😅 cuz I really like where I have them at right now.

For part 3 I want cloud with the advent child outfit.

I think They Should add DLC I think an outfit pack would be a good idea. It is story mode for Zack.

I played the first couple chapters in performance mode as the graphics mode fps was noticably too low but after that it improved alot and I have played up to Chapter 9 in graphics mode, i feel that its fps tradeoff is better than the graphics drop off of performance mode atm, and usually id play performance

Part 3 coming out anytime soon is a pipe dream. They literally said the same thing about part 2. Most of the assets have already been created so part won’t be long. lol we know how that turned out

Another 5 years of waiting 😂 since Part 3 will be "full open world" unless they keep it "zone style" maybe it will take less time.

I've been playing in performance mode, only switching to graphics mode for comparison. While yes, performance mode has some blurry facial issues and has some low res assets in the open world, i'm sitting 4 meters away from the TV, i hardly notice it unless im looking for it. The graphics mode does absolutely look gorgous, but as i mainly play on PC, i just can't handle 30 fps anymore in combat situations. Had i noticed the graphical issues like some seem to by the way they are commenting, i'd just switch to graphics mode when in cities, because there i don't think the 30 fps would bother me. 77 hours in at chapter 11 and absolutely loving it still. I have stopped doing every single sidequest though, not because they aren't good, but i'm dying to see how this ends now. I'll keep doing the Green quests, Queens Blood and Protorelics though because that side story has me hooked and the Green quests have been good to excellent.

An other thing is that not all PS5 consoles has Ultra Blu-ray player. That lowers the numbers of retail copies as well. Last year 1 in 10 games was retailed Vs downloaded compared to 2020 when 1 in 6 games was retailed compared to downloaded. So if you take all that in conclusion the sales for Rebirth is not that bad as you have to assume that a bigger percentage of all games sold was digital compared to Remake. If you try to roughly calculate the sales inc. download you get around 4 million for Remake and 2.6 million for Rebirth.

I love it, but it could pull back on a few of the mini games. I'm beating them all, but as I'm playing them, I keep thinking a less patient person would not be okay with this on a couple.

Hello, less patient person here. Yes trying to get some of the weapon rewards has been infuriating

I started in performance mode but the difference was so drastic tht I made myself get used to the 30fps n I will say I do not regret it, I love this game. I can’t wait for the performance update but I’m 97 hrs in using graphics mode n the game is phenomenal. The mini games, could’ve been tone down a bit but they were fun to play nonetheless.

10-20 hours qorth of queens blood would be dope. Honestly an having a shit ton of fun playing it, i havent finished the game yet, but i wish that currently there was an unlimited number of new duelists with new strategies and new rewards and stuff

Downloading the update this morning is still taking a very long time which sucks!!!

I just set my PS5 to 1080p and play on performance. Looks pretty good and framerate is nice and smooth.

I started off going 100% in and but didn’t finish it that way. I want to start over just to do it!

Think there’s a world out there in the game where Sephiroth was told his ACTUAL birth mothers name (I’ll try and stay spoiler free here for obvious reasons), if he had this information there could possibly be a world where Sephiroth never went insane at Shinra Manor. It could be the world where Professor Gast is still head of Shinra R&D….

First playthrough in performance mode for the combat. Second playing though I’m taking my sweets ass time exploring the world on graphics mode.

Love the game! Story, graphics, music is all so good! That said... screw Queens Blood

The thing is everybody keeps talking about how the game looks in PERFORMANCE MODE but i feel like the framerate drops from corel and further are falling by the wayside. Like dude im playing performance for the performance

I think my only two gripes is 1. Some of the attacks that 1-shot or leave you with 1 health are spammed too much imo. (I.e. Sepheroth lmao) and 2. Mini games are fun but there are ALOT and some are near impossible without thinking outside the box and doing things ways that feel unintentional (I.e. Chocobo flying minigame)

to be fair, that's how it was in many ff games. still remember edea fight spamming that bullshite. the minigame one is kind of an issue, but they arent that important, unless you want to 100% it, and if so, i dont see much of a problem to look up stuff you get stuck in. and you are free to tackle it later. my 1 big gripe is with barret's weapons, they are just the same thing, with diferent stats. while in the OG they felt diferent, i wish they did that here too, with the bazooka and grenade launchers for example being what they should be. or the rifle being a slower but stronger gun. things like that would really put his kit in a much more fun place to play with.

For me, performance mode has been fantastic. Maybe a few cutscenes looked kinda off but combat and exploration have been smooth as butter. I think it depends on your TV from what most people have been saying.

I'm a bit annoyed about being locked out of certain areas, but over all I'm really enjoying the game. One thing it does well is scale, like everything it to scale and is about the right size, it feels huge.

Do i have to play the first one?

I don't think you do. There is a recap of Remake within the game, and the gameplay in this one basically builds on Remake. You will miss out on the stories of some NPCs but that's no big whoop.

performance mode is fine to me because i play with the trophy list displayed on the side so it won't take the whole 4k screen. the smaller window helps and that's how i play any game in performance mode. if go into the main story quests, i quit for a while then play on quality full screen.

I'm 110 hours in and have not had a single issue, all I'd ask is for an update so we can do materia fusion so we can get better bonus stats on my materia.

The game exceeded my expectations. Going to have kids soon. I hope i can find the time to play the third game but i’m excited to share this game with my kids some day

I hope that the flight aspect of the 3rd game doesn't trivialize the game. Its been kind of fun exploring the lands. In other games, when flight is introduced, it kills the ground game.

When is the patch??

Excited to see what they do to KOTR - especially what that will be like on simulator. There’s still quite a lot of material they need to cover, but I hope they do more with the underwater world.

I feel that knights of the round should be the super boss for the game, like Gilgamesh was in this one. You find different artifacts related to the different knights, and after finding all of them, that specific island unlocks and you go fight the knights in a boss rush style battle where you have to face down 13 knights in succession.

I play Performance exclusively and I've had literally no graphic issues. Maybe my standards are a bit more lax. I don't know.

I am in love with Rebirth!! It's been amazing

been playing on performance mode the whole 1st chapter then switched to graphics mode in the next consecutive chapters and never looked back. but really tho they should fix the image quality in performance mode! Its really hard to adjust the eyes and brain especially if you played high refresh rate games for a long time

I want to see the rest of the compilation characters in Part 3 including all of those from Before Crisis who are still living. All player Turks, Verdot, and Elfe as well as the rest of the Tsviets from DoC and from the DoC multiplayer game the other 3 main Tsviets, Argento, Pummel, and Usher. Also let's not forget Shalua. Also an Evan reveal would be nice. Would be nice to see a Vincent and Cid DLC before part 3 releases and would be nice to see a Before Crisis Remake.

I remembered that disc 3 has a goddamn submarine and the Bronco in Rebirth gives me hope that its just as open as they're promising the Highwind is being promised to be... buuuut Rather than the Highwind itself, I'm curious about the world map. The sea map shows a very literal representation of the spatial relationship of the explorable areas, which are super close and off scale to what the world map shows or what they are in the original. And even then, the west continent is also off scale in general. Like the entirety of the grasslands is just a little bit of land mass in the north East of the East continent, you can match up the wasteland before Kalm and the cliffside the lighthouse is on, its rather small compared to the whole continent, and its well East of Midgar. Junon is all the way on the South West coast of the East continent, well South of Midgar. But the literal relation in game puts them right next to eachother, and the mock model of Midgar is SUPER close. This is a trick commonly used in games to make the distance feel longer, Dark Souls is infamous for showing you locations that look farther away than they literally take to get to in the skyboxes of adjacent areas. But Dark Souls doesn't have an Airship... All I'm really getting at is that A) Theres SOOOO much more map we haven't seen, most of the North continent, the entire East side of the East continent, the Islands off the West coast of the West continent, and so many islands and underground wrecks and caverns. B) The existing map of the Meridian Sea HAS to be a place holder, cause otherwise this entire planet is TINY. I'm both super excited to see if they keep their promises, with each game being bigger than the last in the same way that most FF games open up after pivotal events (Its weirdly fitting), but I'm also doubtful that the groundwork they said they have is near as much as what most people are thinking... it sounds like it might be another long wait for this one. I really hope that if those FF9 rumors are true, that maybe they find a way to keep the scope of traversal the same as original, possibly with a classic overworld map. Perhaps that games more storybook artstyle lends itself better for using the classic map where it zooms out and uses little demi models.

I just played VIIR on PC and I am so sad that I can't continue my journey without buying a PS5... and now have to wait or buy one.

I wouldnt be surprised if the sales were shit. I didnt know it was releasing until like 2 days prior. Its like this was a silent release or somthing.

I can’t wait to complete rebirth to then do a solid play through of both remake then this.

I have been struggleing with the final boss all day and still couldn't beat it.

My LG Oled runs the graphics mode at 60 fps I've checked in during combat and just running around must be something with the tv that allows it. I've looked everywhere on the internet for answers but performance and qaulity both clock 60 on the Oled no differences during fighting. If anyone is interested the Lg gives you the framerate while your playing its wild. Gamr runs great

What are you talking about? It's impossible for the PS5 to run FF7RB graphics mode at 60fps. An LG TV can't change that. I have an LG OLED of 2023. Maybe you've activated a sort of interpolation but in TV's game mode it's impossible. Also applying interpolation adds some nasty input lag which is bad for an action type gameplay.

If you own one you know it shows you the frame rate during game mode. You don't have to take my word for it put it in graphics mode and check it yourself. Also you'll note I said I'm not sure whats going on and I can't find anything. @@Slyizable

I have to play on performance mode, even if the quality is down it feels like the graphics mode is way too stuttery while moving the camera around.

This game makes every JRPG before it look like Spider-Man 2! It's awesome! Best game by Square Enix by far! 👍

Make in game clouds eyes look less dead please
