eBay sounds better to me

Merci! That's gonna help big time.

why are you so perfect, josh?
Power chords for bass, cool. Now my bassist is completely useless because now I can write his parts too, thanks 👍
so some quick questions if i could, i own a Peavey Millennium Bxp 5 string. the B string is missing (i bought it used that way) so it's basically a 4 string, is that a good bass? would learning on it be alright for a complete noob? do you have any videos teaching how to play an electric bass, with no amp? (one day i may buy an acoustic bass, then i will not need an amp) *or build one thoughts? ps, i've plucked a bass maybe 3 times. still, they are sweet, and i want to play the thing..
Fleas definitely has made some awesome basslines and has a great feel for music.
Long time guitarist trying to learn Bass. This is great content. Thanks!
It follows the basic rule, that was shown in "Eddie and the Cruisers II". The part where Eddie shows Rick Diesel how to play epic guitar. Basically he tells him and shows him how to let the guitar breathe when you play a riff.
Charming video! I'm a guitar player looking for recording bass. I was thinking about picking up a cheap mustang bass but they seem expensive. Should I find a cheap p bass instead? BTW I love lcassic looking Fenders and play strats almost exclusively.
Gene Simmons has no idea how guys like Steve Harris and geddy Lee are so getting it done !!!
I have 1 month of experience right now and i can easily play anesthesia pulling teeth and i dont find it hard
2:08 what song is that??
THAT BASS LINE MADE ME GAY Until I released this video was more gay.
gotta disagree with going broke to buy a bass in 1989 i saw a 1972 fender p once owned by the modernettes for 400 bucks i borrowed off several friends and i still have this as my number one bass 34 years later,,,mmm love it
cmon that was a Chic's bass lick
Totally great ! Excellent easy to follow bass line education. Interesting why the flat 7th sounds good, but it does.
How do i stop the buzzing sound when i play a note?
The Harley Benton headstock is my favorite at any price point. Might be worth getting one as a platform for modification
If I could do ANY one thing in history, it would be the writing and release of seven nation army
Nice and interesting video, and a real love declaration for this great song. My humble suggestion: besides the brilliant starting riff, the amazing bridge should be also mentioned
I'm 15 years old, I started doing music at my old school and originally I wanted to do drums but my partner already did drums so I picked up bass, and I LOVED it, I'm trying to buy a bass later today and I might post some stuff I play
2:08 I’m more of a Blackened guy myself as far as 7/4 riffs go
I've only recently taken up the bass (in the last year) but have been using Dunlop Tortex (first blue, then green) for 30 years now. I like the grip they have when they are new
Damn bro, why my hand so small
Bought my first bass these week. I tried the one I was looking for and one I thought I would not buy before going to the store. I ended up buying the last one as it was better sounding and also better looking irl compared to the other one.
Buy a PJ
Rhythm sections are such an underrated key importance of any song. This video clears that up. Some of the Bands I love because of that. Older.... Rush Previous.... Red Hot Chilli Peppers More recent .... Band-Maid
How can Tina Weymouth's Genius of Love not be included here?
As I understand it, for a tune to be considered a rip off, it has to copy 7 notes in a row. So the same three notes is fine. But were they in the same key? {:o:O:}
LOL! Who invents these daft "rules"? Bands jam and play what feels right when they compose. {:o:O:}
Rock? _"Don't Stop Me Now"_ and _"We Are the Champions"_ ? You never heard their first three albums? {:o:O:}
I've loved Queen since 1974. But _"complex"_ ? You never heard Christ Squire or Geddy Lee play? {:o:O:}
Walk on the wild side a beginner riff !!!!.... There's 2 basses playing & tried to play both parts at once
Should I practice each scale one at a time, or do all of them once in a 10 min session?
Both chic and deacon created genius bass lines!
Hi Josh, Do you have an approximate release date for the Beginner to Badass Vol 2 course? ?
To me, without him, there is no Queen. But, then again, I'm a bass player. So, I may be biased.
There's also the poorly set up bass, it results in fighting against the fret board and assuming it's how it's supposed to be. Bad hand positionning can really hurt, I struggled with that and sometimes still fall back to this bad habit because I've spent too much time practicing the wrong way. '' I have small hands '' is about as good as an excuse as '' I don't have the sense of rythm '' for people who just can't admit they're too lazy to start the journey and keep on with it.
I half wish john would come back to queen
My middle and index finger make really different sound. Any way to figure how that happen and how to improve ? Thanks a lot.
Sorry but all Fenders are shite!!! I suppose the reason the masses seem to chose them is the fact that they were the first ever invented! It's definitely the case that boutique luthiers have used the design and completely bettered and improved the originals!!
Instafollow. Loved this.
After all those songs? Hot Hot Hot by The Cure, who inverted it and made it a call-and-response with the keyboard
Been playing Guitar for 20 years, Bass was CAKE, So was Violin!!.....I was literally better than my instructor in about 1 month, got bored, went back to guitar....literally No joke. Guitar is extremely hard in all of it's layers....if you can get to a good Intermediate level, you can probably dominate most string instruments.....sorry it's just the truth.
you're probably not better than your instructor, you're just arrogant at all, as a teacher he can't just try to impress you, he have to teach you. check charles berthoud, davie504, champignon from cbjr, flea, lemmy kilmister, mccartney, geddy lee and try to do the same as them, i'm not talking about covers, i'm talking about technique and creativity playing.
Thank you Josh. This video gives me confidence
Josh! Can you do a video of different types of bases! Ill ask this same question on your beginner to badass course but im very curious to the difference sounds... my first bass was a thunderbird then Ibanez acoustic then im doing your badass courses on a goldtone bb400 bass and i recently just bought a violin bass because i liked the way it looked... now im debating a 5 string but before i do i need more base knowledge... can you help me please!!
being tone deaf sucks cause both basses sounded the same to me
Ha! LONG time guitar player learning NOT to play like a guitar player. Appreciate the lessons, man.
