But people like you and Scott Devine have helped me so much into speeding up my progress. Watching your videos like this has helped me move around the fretboard easier, better technique, and this video where you give good tips on scales. I love these videos man

I haven't made it all the way to the end yet... and I've been working on what I've watched so far. I just wanted to stop and say THANK YOU. I've been playing guitar and bass from close to 30 years (totally embarrassed to say that), and your teaching is the first time the 'theory' side of things has ever made any sense to me. I could cry, I'd give you a big hug if I could (You: "Please don't"). I think this is really going to lift my music up from the rut I'm in, and it'll be way more fun to 'play'. So Thanks, again, you're brilliant!

This is an excellent lesson for beginners. I think it is funny how the thumbnail says not to use the full fretboard visualization technique, but that is probably the best the next step after these beginner suggestions. The "copy paste" step is a good way to start to learn the full fretboard, but after that IMO it is best to learn the positions from the nut to the bridge. There is no need to jump directly to "The Beast" exercise, but it is very helpful to start working on position shifting and visualizing the full fretboard right after learning this "box" scale.

I watch a number of other excellent music youtubers who vary from reviewers with extraordinary knowledge to teachers and you are truly gifted as a communicator and pack huge effective value in each episode. You've definitely found your natural path at a time when the world evolved to share it so effectively so fast. Given how many other things are plucked up, that paradigm is a blessing of escapism and creation. And FUN. 👍And btw, after seeing those others, who are great as well in their ways, I'm going to take that bass sitting in my closet for way too long out, and buy yours first.
