i was actually gonna see bts on their persona world tour but because of covid it got cancelled and unfortunately I'm not as big of a fan as I used to be... but I imagine their concerts are just as amazing as they sound, especially the rapline. i do hope to see hobi one day! as for the concerts I HAVE gone to, here's my ranking: 1. Twice 2. Gidle 3. Itzy 4. Stray Kids It's crazy bc I've always been a bigger fan of stray kids than itzy, and itzy than gidle, but it's something else when you get to be close to the stage (they were slightly smaller back then, right before nude era and all the tickets were ground) and also I just loved seeing how chaotic they were it was soooo fun. Skz was more last minute but definitely had so much fun, I was in my girl group stan era when I went to see them so it wasn't as BOOM to me as it would've been a few months before. For itzy, I had an important audition video to film with my dance team that night and I went with my best friend, sadly we had to leave after the dance challenges and before the encore which was SO SAD and I think the rushed feeling I had all day hoping to make it to the audition video on time kind of slightly ruined the whole night for me even tho they were my favorite group at the time along with twice. I am still super grateful I got to go and especially see Lia before hiatus! For twice, well, there's no beating twice. Until the day I watch ateez live I don't think anyone can top them for me. such amazing performance and dance skills and INSANE stage presence and live vocals. being a jihyo bias too and biasing one of the few idols in the industry who always gives their 100% even in practices, it was unmatched for me.

I saw Suga live in Chicago last May and it was one of the best nights of my life. I had so much fun that I really think I blacked out during it because those 2 hours went by so fast. Suga did so well and I'm so proud of him. I've yet to see BTS live (thanks to the pandemic), but trust me I will be there when they tour again.

Your problem can be solved of you start lishteing to boy groups as well. Bg make albums (more songs, less pretty releases, more sub-unit experiments, better album covers, album design, long promotional periods ). Companies use gg to just make money and give it to bgs🙂. Gg have less fans and more general public attention. So more singles more the attention People buy and cherish bg album, sadly. Being a gg Stans and wanting good albums in k-pop is a curse honestly. As someone who Stan's more ggs but none of the gg are my ults I can tell you that this is happening bcz of companies and treatment of gg It's a misogynistic industry and we still have a long way to go🙂

When I watched his performance for MAMA as someone who knew a tiny bit about Kpop in general and hasn’t seen much, and I was blown away by his control and stage presence. I loved how he chose not to dance to show it’s not just dancing that he’s mastered, but commanding the stage and still giving everything to the performance. I was still trying to put my finger on something else though, and you hit the nail on the head for me when you said that you can see that he has that raw passion and drive for what he does and for music and performance, which is something you don’t see a lot of in K-pop. As someone who is still an outsider to K-pop in some sense, that’s been something that I didn’t even realize I was looking for and a big reason why I couldn’t seem to be fully engaged in K-pop.

I got to see Yoongi in Oakland!! At a cup event earlier the day (with a line out the door) people were stopping to ask what the hell was going on. 😄

I met some amazing people at the Purplekiss concert too and are now friends. Although I would say Purplekiss is not my most listened to group, I would go see them again almost as much as my ults. Love Pixy as well, hope to see them together again one day.

I saw Dreamcatcher in Reading in 2022 and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had, it was indoors. Hopefully they have learned not to do it in the intense heat. There were lots of phones out but I was sitting up top so I could see. I filmed a lot too. But yeah if it’s blocking someone’s view be aware of those around them this is why I don’t like pit and such. If they come back near me I’ll see them again. No one comes to my area so I have to do overnights but it’s worth it. I want to see Gidle still, I’m hoping yo catch them on this year’s tour, if I can figure out how to get to the venue. I’ll have to miss a day of class but it’s probably worth. I saw blackpink last year and it was great!

Instead of criticizing blackpink on how they became the biggest girl group with lack of coordination, you should support other group

I went to all 3 days of Yoongi at Allstate. I think I've peaked when it comes to concerts. I simply don't think it can get better for me. The story, the production, the performance. the best of the best of the best.

After seeing that documentary Quiet On The Set, I don’t know why any parent would want their kid to get into any kind of show business, Hollywood, K-pop or otherwise.

I think you forgot another important factor of what makes an IT girl/ It's setting up/popularizing fashion trends or just trends in general.

P1harmony is SO underrated! I've been lucky to go to a concert from each of their 3 tours so far and witness their growth and improvement. The performances are always amazing and the fan energy surreal. No one I know is really into kpop so I always end up going solo but I've made some good friends while I'm there (some which I still keep contact). I'm so glad they were ranked 2nd only because I feel like I never hear anyone talking about them when they are literally the best concerts I've been to (kpop or not). Highly recommend getting into them/going to a show!!!

I WAS AT THAT LOUISVILLE SHOW FOR DREAMCATCHER TOOOOO OMG!!!! Me and my sister came right before doors opened and only waited for like 30 mins, but even that was demanding of us, especially since my young, pre-teen sister wore tall boots. It was SUCH a good show from Dreamcatcher but you're completely right about the phone usage, I'm only 5'5 and had to hold my phone up all the way so my sister could see through it. Plus we were closer to the back and the heat was still INTENSE, even with the AC blaring we both had to squat down at times to catch our breath. Good concert, poor fan behavior and not a great venue (I loved the fans who we stood next to tho). EDIT: I WENT TO THE NASH PIWON SHOW TOO!!!!! It's still my fav concert ever, period, that Nemonade section was absolutely amazing and all of their members are soooooo talented. Went in a Jiung stan, came out a Jeongseob stan (even got a bracelet from another fan with his name on it haha)

12:54 I think we have a very similar viewpoint with a lot of this stuff. I feel acknowledged with this video lol. I don't mind too much of waiting for release schedules either, but I think a lot of the consumers do. Others may just want a lot to consume and want to see frequent consistent drops even if the album/style isn't their cup of tea, at least they're active. I think all of this goes hand and hand with songs becoming shorter too (in terms of themes in albums as I remember them) it's way easier to do that in a 3-4 min track, but not so much in a 2-2:20 length song.

The change I had to adapt to the most when I started consuming Kpop was how frequent comeback periods are, and how much a group I stan will drop music. Being a fan of Vince Staples, Kendrick, Tyler the Creator, etc. I had to wait extensive periods of time for new music to drop, but I didn't mind because the quality was always there, typically with a well formed narrative. In Kpop a lot of these companies aim for profits, and just churn out comebacks like a bakery does with it's daily special. Thanks for commenting! You're one of the few reaction based channels I actually watch so your support is appreciated! Keep up the great work! :)

I think pre-releases can make sense in the right context. But when an album drop, and you know half of the songs already, I agree that it destroys the listening experience. I personally loved the intros bts used to drop (usually solo songs) that introduced you to the theme of an album - although they only dropped the mvs, never the song as a single. Although this pre-release tactic is not completely new to the music industry, I think it is slightly new to kpop, isn't it? Someone please correct me, but I think it only started becoming a mainstream tactic in 2020.

I saw Suga in D-Day at All State, and even tho I saw BTS in LA in 2021, this concert is my favorite. I still cant believe i saw him. When he did Amygdala, i cried. He left it all on stage and the crowd gave it all back.

I’m lucky to get to see BTS and Agust’s concerts.. saw BTS in concert for the first time in 2018 in Chicago, it was an out of body experience.. after promised myself to go see them as much as possible and i was able to see them more than 10 times this include IHeart concert, Wembley stadium and twice in HongKong and the rest in the US as a group and DDay twice in LA and once in Chicago…I also saw Itzy, Mamamoo, Day6, Seventeen, Straykids… to me personally BTS is amazing at live performance kinda ruins me for anyone else.. you are right about you have to be there in person for a BTS or Suga’s concert to understand the experience..love being there with ARMY…can’t wait for 2025 for BTS to come out of military and praying to get tickets..but first need to bring my cc down lol.. worth every single penny to see BTS..

i've only been to one kpop concert and it was ONEUS in Copenhagen with my good friend who got me into ONEUS. im so suprised they got ranked so low for you, but after hearing you out and how you went into the concert, I can see that for a more casual fan that it was just overall a good time^^ me being a fan, I cried, I laughed and im actually so sad I took so many videos bc I COULD NOT STAND STILL for the LIFE of me. so the videos wasn't even worth it lol Unforgettable has a special place in my heart, so I got SO overwhelmed when it started playing where I just started bawling. and screaming my lungs out, so you can imagine how that sounded lol i think the energy was well balanced, when we had to get hype, WE GOT HYPE (no diggity, Lit, Come Back Home) and when we had to slow down, we really got into a zone and just tried to enjoy their live singing and get interactions. so, for me, that has only been to one concert, that just happened to be one of my faves, ONEUS delivered. if anybody is reading this, if someone ranks ONEUS at number 13, then it really means that those top 5 really are TOP TIER. (a little note; Leedo was actually injured in his shoulder and told us at the end of the concert in their "goodbye speeches", and of all the people I asked after the concert, nobody noticed)
