In Mera's video on BTS' writing styles, she said that as Suga yoongi writes from the subtext whereas Agust D brings all the unsaid and repressed things of Suga roaring up to the surface. God, I'm so fucking jealous of everyone who went to the concerts, I'm british and he didn't come here :(((

I love that Agust D's music is not for passive consumption the way a lot of kpop is. It forces you to reflect on yourself, your views, your actions, as well as the views and actions of others. He's not afraid to take digs at others, and he's not afraid to take digs at himself. Yoongi is one of the most intelligent people in the music industry, and it is evident in his lyric writing. His production is also amazing and compliments the lyrics so well; him and El Captxn are a fantastic duo. Great video! I hope this inspires more people to give D Day a listen. Truly the best and most underrated album of the year.

Somebody commented once regarding AgustD - Strange (ft. RM) about Keanu Reeves who spoke about problems of capitalistic society while being poor at that time and people called him lazy. He became rich and famous and spoke about problems of capitalism and then people called him hypocrite. Yes, Yoongi is rich af now thanks to his insane talent, sh*t ton of hardwork and stubbornnes AND of course thanks to capitalism. But don't forget that he was on the other side too. He was poor, literally starving teen, trying to make money with his music and survive somehow without even his parents financial and moral support. And he doesn't look down on that time and people who still struggle financially. He acknowledges this time and even respects it for the lessons he learned and person who he became because of it. Hence he allegedly was first in BTS who actively started donating to charities. So I think he has all rights to criticise capitalism and K-Pop while being in the system himself. He knows what is it to struggle, to choose between having cheap lunch or bus home. He is not arrogant about it. And also poor people have no voice in this society, but even if you gain the money from the scratch, you still not allowed to talk? Sorry for rant, this was answer to one of the comments here, but I decided I don't want to participate in conversation with that person, but still want to make the point.

even if he got rich and still observes the world politically, he is still the last person to come for on these kind of discussions. people call him a class traitor, when his situation was far far dire and he was desperate. if bts didnt make it big and even disbanded other members are comfortable to pursue other fields, yoongi however cannot. he was dirt poor. the situation is more dire if you consider s.kor's political climate. people never consider the country when they point fingers. these same people pointing fingers are at the comfort of their own home.

None of them were ever rich or baepsae, especially yoongi and V, I belive they can't change the system they are in so for me suga bc of his past has the right to use his voice for this.

Main reason why I like BTS and SUGA-biased is the songs that they make. The music are already good but once you get to know the story behind and the lyrics it becomes so much better. So many of their songs bring comfort/happiness/ vulnerability/darkness that are very raw/realistic and relatable.

I really liked your analysis of D DAY... I have a personal interpretation of the album that isn't so far away from yours. I think this album is about healing. There's a lot of trauma, pain, rage and self reflection on the way, but healing is at the end of the road for Yoongi. Healing takes growth and freeing yourself from the shackles of prejudice that society forces on people and the ones that you put on yourself. Yoongi once said that painful events are inevitable, but if it keeps hurting over and over again at one point it means you're hurting yourself. The scar is super interesting cause it's a pain that he caused to himself. In Amygdala it's like he can't get out of that room that represents his own mind, full of painful memories and that's when he hurts himself. But in haegeum the scar on the evil police officer has healed a bit compared to daechwita. For that healing and growth to happen he has to kill older versions of himself, just to be released from his shadows. The rebel version of himself on haegeum doesn't have a scar. The song D Day it's about picturing yourself in a future where you have healed and you've overcomed the pain. Well, that's my interpretation... I hope it contributes to the conversation. I love Yoongi and I have to say, I've seen so many genius but tortured artists whose lives end up in tragedy, but Yoongi is choosing to grow and heal. It doesn't have to end up in tragedy, and he's a great role model when it comes to taking care of mental health. I admire him even more since D DAY came out.

Nah, fam, never apologize for bringing up Kim Garam situation. Bringing it up means that it must still be talked about because K-pop stans love to sweep things under the rung (unless it's their favs), and want to always forget these sort of controversies happened. Never apologize for bringing up a subject that has reveled the worst of K-pop stans and their actions to a minor.

This might sound a bit parasocial (but I'm well aware of the distance between fan-artist and respect it) but I've never seen myself in another person, let alone a celebrity, like I see myself in Yoongi, I usually joke about how I'm like 5 traits away from being full on Min Yoongi, there's such a strong bond and understanding between me and Yoongi that it feels I'm right along with him in our emotional/rational journey, he was actually the main reason why I stepped in and ended up becoming an ARMY back in November 2020, his music, his perspective on everything, his emotional response and behavior are so intertwined with how I respond and deal with my inner struggles. I love D-Day as an album A LOT but I don't listen to it, because unlike Yoongi, I haven't healed yet, I haven't reached that finish line and conclusion he has (which I love for him), D-Day looks into my eyes and say "I have everything you don't want to deal with yet, be careful when you approach me" (I can tell you I have listened AMYGDALA like 3 times max, I really can't make it after the first verse), I mostly listen Life Goes On because it comforts me and feels like a reachable level of peace, I will give my favorite tracks of the album: HUH?!, People Pt.2, Snooze, Life Goes On, but some are earworms that I hum or recite from time to time (D-Day and SDL). D-Day is a RAW album in a way it feels like it's pulling you apart right to piece yourself together and give you strength to move forward. It's a beautiful conclusion to Agust D and for the people who along Yoongi, were able to heal and move forward. I'm not there yet, but I know the album is waiting for me to take everything in and properly heal from my struggles and traumas.

I like only BTS. I don’t like k pop at all. BTS to me are unique in that world . They are true musicians. And j hope is amazing but he learned from the best RM & Suga. .I loved every song on D Day. The beats are amazing, every message was important and had a purpose. He showed versatility. Yoongi is just not an aggressive rapper, he’s gentle and smart and talks about tough topics. And when he talks about love it isn’t interpreted as a romantic love specifically because it could be about any type of love . I think his mind is fascinating, introspective, intimate and healing. It’s not just a dance track that has no meaning it’s just fun. All his songs have meaning and he’s personally worked on them all including the music videos. I feel he’s not the most popular member because he doesn’t place his importance on being flashy, on being the best dancer, the most handsome or the most social media friendly. This is not important to him. The music is what he places his importance on. If the other members bring the fans he’s ok with it because they will still be listening to his music. And that’s sugas life’s blood. He’s an amazing musical genius with an interesting mind and such an interesting way of presenting important issues. I think most fans find it difficult to enter the mind of min Yoongi. But once you allow yourself into his mind, you will grow to be the biggest Suga fan .

I think some people interpreted Polar Night as being about extremely online leftists but I don't think this behaviour only manifests among left-wing people. You mentioned Eren Jaegar, a character who is ironically valorised by dude-bros and white right-wingers who blame the world for their problems. A lot of these guys have valid concerns about being exploited under capitalism, but right-wingers exploit that and direct that frustration to racist, sexist and homophobic ideologies, since these communities are easy scapegoats. This absolutely happens with poc too - there is 100% a manosphere for black/asian/latino/arab etc. people, tho it does present in different (but still toxic) ways. I think a big theme in D-Day is not letting your trauma justify treating people badly or keeping yourself in toxic self-sabotaging mindsets. Most bigots come from a place of trauma. The habitual state of a bigot is "feeling threatened", which often stems from trauma, and they take this stuff out on vulnerable groups they can mostly get away with hurting. Evidently no amount of trauma in the world can justify what these people are doing. I'm muslim and I know people who were bullied as kids after 9/11 bc of the collective trauma of the event. In what way, shape or form will bullying a 10 year old muslim kid be remotely healing or helpful for anyone involved? There's a point where you have to take responsibility, and I think that's a big theme of D-Day.

I am one the people who've been waiting since April lol BUT YES YES AND A MILLION TIMES YES THIS WAS WORTH THE WAIT I'M NOT COMPLAINING. Okay, so here are my thoughts: I wanted to sit down and take my time whilst watching this video so my response is a little late. But anyway, I've been an army since 2017/2018 and I've grown and discovered, listened to and liked many other groups throughout this long time period. However, none of them exhibit the kind of authenticity in identity and musical artistry that I found with BTS. None. This is gonna be a little messy because there's bits and parts I wanted to comment on throughout this video but it's not in any particular order. So firstly, D-day for me is the second best solo project by BTS right after Indigo. I also noticed that your interpretation is very similar to my own and some others I read. It really makes me think that the interpretation might be objective after all. Most of seem to agree that cop AgustD in the Haegeum mv represents Yoongi's 'corrupt/prone to fall to capitalism' side and the gangsta AgustD is 'self-reflection(?)' that keeps him in check. Secondly, I find myself avoiding amygdala even though it's musically one of my favourite songs on the album. I get way too emotional listening to it and it's as if the lyrics are piercing through my soul. I can't imagine what Yoongi must have gone through to bring out those emotions and record this song, it's laced with so much pain. Now with Huh I can't believe it's your least fav on the album lol I'd put it in my top 4. Interlude:Dawn + Snooze was my breaking point, the richness in production, the reassurance, Woosung's voice (which ultimately lead me to checking out therose's entire discog thank you Yoongi), Yoongi's warmth. Polar night was my No.1 with People pt.2 being No.2. I also have a soft spot for SDL and life goes on despite not really liking them at first. Him performing them on tour was what made me fall in love with them. Lastly, I agree with the fact that he's not praised enough for what he does. It's ridiculous how kpop stans refuse to, at the very least, respect BTS for everything they have done and continue to do for kpop and the entire music industry in general. Like where does all that prejudice even come from? Anyway loved the video!

Yoongi has taught me so many things. Most importantly to be true to myself and be genuine always, no matter what others say or might think. I found that's what makes people genuinely respect and like you, instead of posing, pretending and putting others down to make yourself feel better. (a.k.a. toxic anything lol) All the BTS members have taught me different things. All seven of them are just such genuine, kind and inspiring people. It's insane that they are all in the same group. Anyway, great video! I had the same experience in school that you did and it took BTS for me to wake up and see it for what it was. I'm in a much better place now.

I didn't expect the video to be that long, but i enjoyed every second of it! I love this album and the themes it deals with so dearly. Topics like the shackles capitalism puts on us, love and loss, selective hypocrisy and painful memories are hard to tackle but i'm glad he did! And yes he should absolutely produce songs for dreamcatcher, it would be soooo cool

I cried during Shadow in NYC. I really wanna see a new “debut” of Suga as Suga and not AgustD. I don’t think he needs that persona to release anger, or anything that Suga couldn’t say, anymore. Yoongi has grown enough to allow AgustD to go, and say things as himself. Also, we’ve seen most members curse in their solo works, so if he needs to vent in a song, he can do it as Suga now.

I think the Haeguem Yoongi in suit is kind of the end Agust D of Daechwita. I think the first Agust D is the anger that brought him to the Daechwita Agust D where all his anger, determination to prove himself made him able to kill the giants. Haeguem it's Yoongi killing the negative version of himself he had to become reach the top. Like he says in Shadow he was able to get to the top and he felt lost. I think he also said it in one of the Suchwita episode that this is the end of Agust D. That he was running and running and taking lessons, proving himself and all. Now he is ready to be Yoongi, to be Suga. I don't know if we will even see Agust D like this ever again, he said that he now has changed his mentality. I think he has officially turned from driven Agust D to mentor Suga. You can already see how his anger turned more towards suffering and vulnerability in this album. Yoongi has been my bias since day one. He inspires me so much because he works so hard to show what he is made of and whenever he says somethings he follows through with it. Now I admire him more because he has grown past that and wants to help others so that they will never have to suffer like he did. I hope he keeps being a great artist, I will always thank him for making me fall in love with rap.

I swear, so many people don’t get that KPop stans are a big reason behind why their faves will never fully break into the international market. I remember not wanting to even give groups like BTS, Blackpink, Loona, etc. a chance because of the reputation of their fandoms. I eventually gave in since a few of my friends kept recommending KPop songs to me. And it sucks that I spent so much time avoiding KPop because of fans. And I probably never would have given it a chance if I didn’t have a KZread channel that revolves around music.

Never apologize for bringing up Garam. KPop stans need to be reminded that the way in which the community conducted itself resulted in a 16 year old girl losing out on fulfilling her dream. At least with Wonho, Woojin, Jimin, Soojin, Ravn, etc., they were all adults and able to able to piece their lives back together. Garam is still a child. And she learned the hard way that the industry is evil and that stans are both your ally and your enemy. Some people are way too eager to complain “She was only an idol for 2 weeks! Let it go!” Let it go? What are we supposed to do when this inevitably happens again because y’all want to “Let it go”?

10:14 There's a huge difference between common folk and someone like Suga. We need a check by the end of the month to live whereas Suga can actually stop doing the things he criticizes because he has shit ton of money. If you're so uncomfortable by the system why are you partaking in it when you can choose not to? Same goes for undergae idols. If your so uncomfortable by it don't listen. If you do you don't actually feel that way you just say it. You should put your money to where your mouth is. Also being self aware AND not doing anything makes it even worse.

There needs to be added context though, Agust D clearly has passion for music, but in the creation and distribution of music, he must patrol capitalistic practices. He may hate using KZread but its essentially a requirement for any artist wanting to spread their music. This problem isn't as simple as "well just don't do it!", yeah I wish I didn't have to partake in capitalism, but if I don't I can't drive anywhere, eat anything, or live under my roof. Same goes for underage idols.

@@Taejiu Not really no. If he has a passion for music he'll put his songs on youtube and call it a day. He has a huge enough fanbase he can reach. Again, someone like Suga doesnt need to partake in the system. Common folk obviously needs to I said that in the original comment. For underage idols if you're uncomfortable you'll pirate it or not watch it at all (if you're actually uncomfortable and not just virtue signaling). There's literally nothing so hard about it.

@@kandlandlenfprnkfnfkdkdmdmmdmd I think like I touched on earlier, there is a lack of... reality to this point? He's a musical artist, he can't just, not make music? Especially if he's someone that literal millions of people listen too and admire and are inspired by, and he likes doing it sooooo. Yeah idk I just don't think you are really, thinking this through I guess. I mean you probably partake in stuff you don't want to all the time, as do I. As for young idols, one thing can be wrong while another being true. I can find young idols being in the industry uncomfy but like the music, it doesn't just have to go one way. Again I don't find that hard to grasp but I guess it is for some people.

Let's not pretend anymore- Heageum is about Lee Jaemyung, he is the mobster who gets out of the police and who is the main mobster of Korea! And all the Koreans got it unlike the foreign fans! And that's why this mobster wants to destroy BTS- he bought Hybe, Min Heejin works for him, Hybe's CEO is a former employee of Paradise Group which is also run by Lee Jaemyung, and the fool Taehyung already obeyed him because he works with Min Heejin and Paradise Group! The lives of the other members are in danger because this mobster is killing people, and President Yoon can't even put him in jail! The Conscription Commission is justified by Lee Jaemyung's party, and for this the members are literally forced into the army as punishment! The question is WHO is going to protect BTS from this guy since the power in Korea is powerless?!
