    Thank you for your video. But if I may ask: Sometimes when my machine seems like it’s aligned, I could stitch my project a few stitches, and then out of nowhere it seems like my needle gets stuck or “hits” something as it goes into the shuttle and I end up breaking my needle. Do you know what that could be??

    Have you tried the new removable lens guard that insta360 released? It looks like it solved all the problems with less sealing it might vent better

  • @kslam5733

    I haven't tried. I do think that fogging is still a problem even with this lens guard. The heat generated inside the lens guard still has no way out but can be solved by removing the guard when it happens.

  • @SHANTUBE786

    @kslam5733 I thought you might say that ,lol. Hence I'm going for the removable ones. And yes, there is an x3 removable ones that recently came out. It's on the official insta360 store. I'm getting that for convenience and use anti fog spray from time to time

    The new guard is not sealed tightly as the old one. There may be space for heat coming out but may not be wide enough. Still worth trying because it is removable!

    what if you encounter raining day?

  • @kslam5733
    @kslam57333 ай бұрын

    Think about even without this lens guard, rain would still drop on the oval glass and would affect the photos taken. There is no difference whether with or without this vented lens guard. So taking pictures in rainy days is troublesome to not only X3 but all cameras! The concerns are around how to dry out the water sipping in through the 4 vents. If rain is not heavy, rain would not easily get in the lens guard through the small vents. If it rains heavily, rain may sip in through the vents. Simply shake the water out from inside the lens guard first; use air blower to dry it if available; If necessary, may take away the lens guard easily since there are only 4 small pads adhered. Reinstall it is also easy just with the adhesive tape.

    @@kslam5733 I'm concerned with this method as I'm filming while riding motorcycle. This afraid dust get in and scratch the main lens

  • @kslam5733
    @kslam57333 ай бұрын

    @@jasonkwcThe fogging problem of the lens guard is intrinsic. This is because there is no sealing off between the lens and the battery compartment. Heat generated from the battery would dissipate through the edges around the oval lens. If the lens guard covers it tightly as it is advertised, heat has no way out. If temperature inside is higher than outside fogging would happen. There are no other ways round except for giving vents for dissipating this heat. If riding motorcycle, the chance of getting fogging would be higher. Because the wind blown through around the oval lens guard would lower the outside temperature while the inside temperature is building up. I have tried many tests to find out this is the best among others.

    Not fully understand the text translated. The thickness of the threat depends on what you want to sew. From my experience, use good quality and not too thin thread is the golden rule. The thread needs to pass through many edges of the machine, It is easy to break. You also need to use proper size of needle and right thickness of thread, they need to match. All these should be learned through practices by yourself.

    usable capacity will only be about 85% of what went into the bank due to boost converter and wire losses so about 7594mah, and it has a pretty good voltage sag under 1 amp load so u only get about 4.4v out so i would guess about 30-34WH usable capacity.

    A helpful hint. Instead of using pliers or some other metal tool to remove the bobbin shuttle (which can cause burs or other damage) use a magnet.

  • @kslam5733

    Thanks for your idea. The bobbin driver is guite hard to be pulled out by magnet. As it is not always needed to move the driver out, using plier just once or twice does not matter.

    Hello. Perhaps you can help. I bought the Chinese shoe patch machine in October of 2022. I spent a month watching videos, etc. For some reason I could not get the machine to pick up the bobbin thread. So frustrated I put in the closet for a year. Pulled it out recently, and finally fixed the bobbin thread issue. Once the bobbin pickup worked, then I had an issue of the upper thread breaking. Watched some more videos, and did some intense sanding of all the bobbin parts. That stopped the breaking. Now, the thread is too loose. Before I just immediately tighten the bobbin spring, can you tell what would be causing the bottom thread to be too loose on my finished tests?

  • @kslam5733
    @kslam57337 ай бұрын

    1. Tighten the small flat on the side of the bobbin. 2. If not work, tighten the upper thread knob. The result is the bottom thread cannot move the upper thread too much. Bottom thread would be tightened then.

    what's the name of the clear yellow tape ? was it worthy buying new cells ? didn't they match the price of a new power bank ?

  • @kslam5733
    @kslam57338 ай бұрын

    The tape is heat resistant and so it is good to use in this temperature sensitive environment. I don't know how it is called but we call it 'gold 'tape. If you DIY, you can use quality cells. Certainly the price would be higher than those of new power banks as they would usually use cheaper cells. I used quality cells so the price is a bit higher. I enjoyed the DIY process and would not consider the price as this MI power bank is my first bank bought around 2013.

    What type and size of thread and needle size do you use please

  • @kslam5733
    @kslam5733 Жыл бұрын

    Normally, using needle 14-16 is quite good for soft leather and greater than 16 for more thicker leather. I often use 16 for my daily repair works - shoes, belt, bags. The thread is usually TEX 40. Thread and needle need to be paired: thread should be slim enough to fit the needle groove. If not, it will break when it jams with the needle going through the hole on the metal plate. Even if it can go through the hole, it will not form a loop for the bobbin hoke to catch and wrap around the bobbin case due to thight friction.

    Your machine came with the hole in top of the bobbin or you made it, coz mine doesn’t have that one, is it important?

  • @kslam5733
    @kslam5733 Жыл бұрын

    Do you mean the iron flat plate on top of the bar? the hole comes with the plate because the plate can be used both sides, it is for fitting onto the extrude point for fixing the plate. My bobbins do not have holes on them. If there is, it is for easy threading of the bobbin.
